  1. As far as slogan is concerned, I'm not pushing this campaign towards "subspace / continuum - meet people from all over the world and then kill them.." My plan for this campaign is to REALLY push the term "free space shooter pvp mmo" Back on topic, tho, I still need content from each zone that wants to participate.
  2. I'm collecting zone descriptions for a Subspace branding/promotional project. If you'd like your zone to be included, please send me the following. 1: - a summary of the current status of your zone 2: - what has changed/happened in the past 3-5 years 3: - what the best days and times are to find a game in your zone 4: - a couple of high-quality/resolution screenshots 5: - links to your zone forums/websites 6: - and anything else you would like to say to the world about your zone. I'd like them to be official (from zone staff), but I'll take player-submitted descriptions as well. As an example, here's what I received from Extreme Games: This project is going to yield great results, especially with contributions from each active zone. So please find the time to reply to this thread with a description for the zone you represent. Thanks!http://eternal.im/subspace.pnghttp://eternal.im/tutorial-title.png
  3. Sass would you please put it together?
  4. I did not tag it with any name. Here's exactly what I used: http://eternal.im/hs-ss.png
  5. Hey guys, If anyone has OLD zone folders (years of collected zones), can you please zip them up and send them to me somehow? Perhaps DropBox and post the link here? I'm collecting as many old zone files as possible. Thanks!
  6. Thank you, nevermind the screenshot. I found a good one on images.google. ?message me your email if you'd like to see a draft of the newsletter before I send it.
  7. Thank you, Psythe. Appreciate it. I'll include Hyperspace in the newsletter. Can you dig up a good HS screenshot?
  8. I know Psythe is still active, hoping he gives me a statement. I could always write one myself, but would prefer an official statement. I think Hyperspace is worth listing in the newsletter.
  9. We did get new players downloading Continuum just having Continuum up on Greenlight. We're still getting many comments on the Greenlight page. However, the possibility of CONTINUUM getting Greenlit doesn't look so good. We may simply have to re-apply in the future with an open-source client.
  10. Hope this gets completed. I'd love to chat with SS through Pidgin. I run everything else through Pidgin anyways.
  11. Hi Hyperspacers, We're (SSDev) launching a monthly email newsletter to over 10,500 recipients and counting, most of the recipients are old subspace players who haven't logged in for a few years. I'm collecting 2-4 paragraph statements from each active zone. The target audience for the newsletter is retired players. The info needed in the paragraphs is basically what Hyperspace has been up to in the past 3-5 years, the fact the Hyperspace is still alive and the best day/time to login and find a game. Other than that - anything else you'd like to say to the retired players. Thanks!
  12. Pretty cool, Richard. Can you also release a version for testing that uses a standard subspace map. So we can see how this performs with our regular old events and maps and settings? I think I speak for a lot of people here when I say that what we are really reaching for is a client that is able to clone, exactly our current zones.. New features and new graphics are great - but how does this look and feel running a regular zone?
  13. Any more progress on this? I'm really interested.
  14. Remove all, use only ssdir.playsubspace.com and re-download zones list. Most zones are legit dead.

  16. If profit is a motivation it's certainly not going to carry over SS's sentiment.
  17. We'll always be here, at least on forums, to arrange get-togethers in-game sometimes. Hopefully, though, a new client (*cough* cheese, bak-, anyone) brings Life back into the game and we can experience the 'good old days' all over again. Wouldn't that be grand? Thousands of players in each zone? Ahhh the prospect.
  18. This looks good. Are you open for beta testers? If so, please send me a forum message. I'm interested. I run Windows 7 64bit and can provide unique input as a leader in subspace development for the past decade.
  19. I'm not sure.. I'm pretty sure it's missing a LOT. Skins are just a fraction of the data. I think L.C. has ALL the files from SSDL backed-up in split-up zip files somewhere - I'm going to try to get ALL of the data up here for download. Cross your fingers.
  20. I'm gathering/organizing a ton of good files. We need a good one-stop-shop for SS downloads. Especially the files that used to live exclusively on subspacedownloads that are now nowhere or the mirrors are broken. I don't understand what is funny.

Awesome progress in such little time. Keep it up Cheese - you might save all of our asses.
  22. Hey I'll take care of it. I'd like to add a lot of downloads.

The response time is nice. I can't wait until the graphics are populated with SS graphics. Should fun very smooth. Keep up the good work.
  24. I actually really like the idea of carrying an item or capability over to the next reset IF the above mentioned 'individual reset' system were put in place. The huge problem with that, tho, is that would actually be a disincentive. I played Hyperspace enjoyably for a few years. It was great. If the individual reset system you suggested were to be put in place the majority of experienced players will hate it because it makes reaching critical mass (maxed-out all of your ship settings / accumulated everything) pointless. Now, if players could CHOOSE to reset with a command, then the other idea of carrying an item or capability over through resets is actually brilliant. Although I'm not sure how much I would like self-resetting and I'm sure there's negative things I haven't thought about with that type of 'self-resetting' system. The current system of seemingly random resets works pretty good in my opinion. Had fun for years that way. Many, many others enjoy it as well. It's definitely not broken. Good thoughts, tho.
