  1. L0SA has blue eyes now? Colored contacts or tatooed irises? Or maybe a fake pic?

    Hiya

Maybe an artifact from when HS was off the biller? Dude's been playing for weeks with no problems.
  5. I'd rather catch the persons doing it since the solutions sound like a PITA. Maybe Cerium's log reader could identify a pattern in the server log where the command stream was a ?summon followed by exiting the game to find out who's doing it? Anybody whose last command before exiting is a ?summon is pretty suspicious.
  6. I like that wbs and sharks can be killed by thors from a single ship as it discourages runwinning and zipping around bases in small ships. I wouldn't mind if the thor's prox/blast radius were reduced to lessen the value of spamming in base. If you were to take siege to one thor, I'd up the damage to like 1500 so you can still take out foolish flag-carrying wbs. [edit] gb's idea below rox v
  7. If you have 800 bty and the flag game ends due to the other team quitting, your 800 bty is useless. As Spock would say, the needs of the many (continuation of the flag game) outweigh the needs of the few (individuals who get screwed by the evener). Many other flagging zones where game continuity is important (MG, Desert Storm, Halo, others?) have implemented auto freq eveners successfully. I'm not saying it doesn't suck if you get switched but I don't know any fairer way to do it. If you switch the last one in over as Sention suggested it's likely to be a newb, which tends to make the stacking worse. Does everyone not agree that the ideal flag game has two evenly-matched freqs, with a mixture of newbs and pros on each side?

  10. It is pretty well established that if you care more about the jp than keeping the flag game going, you are a noob. In fact it's kind of a noob litmus test.
  11. Three words: Automatic Freq Evener That will solve all problems. As newb freqs dwindle in size, stacked freqs will get broken up. It will eliminate freq hopping. Yes some people will cry that they were on that freq for hours when auto freakie unfairly randomly picked them. Who cares? Do it already for the good of zone flagging.
  12. Adding PDs to levis had changed the game in a few ways. 1. Rocket-laming is more effective with salvo + L4 bullet spam coming at the target. 2. The tactic of closing with a levi and killing it at short range has been largely countered. You have to engage levis now from long range, unless the PD is distracted or you can circle faster than it can turn. 3. The base tank role is more effective because you now have a close-range weapon to attack enemy with. 4. PD is used as a short-term brick, as it hangs around after you die absorbing damage. I see a lot of levis positioning in front of bomblines to take advantage of this. However, with AD it has the disadvantage that it gives defenders something to shoot at while you're between deaths. People were already using PD in this way with lancs, but I think that PD adds more value to a levi than a lanc so we're seeing a lot more of them. I don't think PD on weasels will be used much because you'd rather have a real gun in most cases. Overall I like how it makes the levi less of a sitting duck in center, but I wish PD disappeared faster after you die. [Edit] After seeing a few flag games it now appears levi is the rushing machine. Levis rule base rushing from now on. Also, it appears that PD follows the trajectory of the rocket after death, and then you reappear at the PD site, so it reintroduces the feature from the old days where when you rocket your debris momentum after you die will carry you way past the defenders and respawn on the other side. With the levi's fast rockets it can carry quite a long ways.
  13. Mas is suggesting that privs should be limited to 1 person, everyone else goes into a pub. If a bunch of ppl quit a team, the freqs become unbalanced, so using an auto-evening bot as MG does was also suggested. One thing that ought to be done immediately is that there appears to be a limit of 20-25 or so on pub freq sizes, so at peak pop the zone is creating a third pub freq. Pub freq sizes need to be expanded to ensure this doesn't happen.
  14. Speaking of confusion I think you have me confused with MGS. Anyway, although the new tw is unbalancing enough, creating all these special rules to protect people in the tw seems way over the top. Why should they be invulnerable in tw? Heck there ought to be gun ports in the walls so people can shoot into it to try to balance it out a little bit. I'd suggest also putting a delay into the tw action itself to reduce its effectiveness in escaping.
  15. Ever notice that you can be overwhelmed, underwhelmed, but never just plain whelmed?

  18. This is a simple pricing imbalance problem. ID Drive = $150K TW Token = $1K TW P!@#$%^&* = $1M Make TW P!@#$%^&* about $25K instead of a million and TW Token about $250 and the entire imbalance is solved.
  19. We don't have enough !@#$%^&* bags playing HS, so let's banfree a giant Rosie O'Donnell-sized !@#$%^&* bag with no skills so he can go around griefing newbs, spamming, rocket-laming, and cheating again. ^ sarcasm. I am not actually in favor of granting banfrees to giant Rosie O'Donnell-sized !@#$%^&* bags. How many accounts did Loveshack steal when HS was off biller? Good riddance.
  20. Soccer is a boring spectator sport. That's why the Mexican announcers yell GOOOOOL--to wake up everyone who fell asleep waiting for something to happen.

  23. In addition to the reasons I listed initially, the lack of bricks has made linebombing much more effective for defenders. If you recall the period after the brick nerf and before the base 3 nerf, base 3 was essentially impregnable (except for magic ad sharks) due to the bomb line. Base 6 bomblines are similar when the defending freq has its act together. The terr idea was just extra credit; maybe only let spiders have them if terrs rushing is a concern. Believe me I don't want to return to the bad old days of bricking. But presently there is no rational situation where anyone uses them, so the nerfing has gone too far. A command to buy them outside the store would be more practical--seems like everybody likes that idea.
  24. Since they became one-time use, nobody uses bricks anymore. Before, we played base tetris, and now they've been made too expensive to use altogether. I'd like to make a proposal to bring back respawning bricks. Why? 1. Bricks would help take care of the chronic flanking problem, since attackers could put bricks behind them. 2. Bricks would counter the ad shark tactic. There were a couple problems before with bricks which was why they were nerfed: 1. Basing devolved to whose ad shark could brickwarp the enemy lanc first. Solution: Don't let ships 1,2,8 use these bricks. They only get brick attack. 2. Too many bricks were laid down, bogging down flag games into "base tetris". Solution: Only let ship 5 have bricks. This gives people reason to have a terr, and creates a new role on a basing team. Terrs can't rush, but can lay down defensive bricks. You won't want to go all-terr because spids will own you. This proposal is intended to add a little depth back to the game, while solving a few other problems simultaneously, and requiring little programming effort. Discuss.
