I agree that it should be in the news and the instructions to set the password should be in the welcome message, not the smart!@#$%^&* "Note that your current money and item statuses may not reflect their actual values." Sure, foreshadow what's going to happen to the newbie but don't tell them how to prevent it. Makes the staff look really smart when it happens without actually being helpful. And to those who say it's been warned lots of times, that's re!@#$%^&*ed because there's no way that a newbie or somebody who hasn't been on for awhile would know unless they happened to stumble upon one of these forum messages or be online right when something like this happens. Instead of keeping it a secret (lot of good that has done, hasn't it?), or saying the biller will save us, make sure that every time people log in they know that they need to have ?passwd set by putting the instructions in the welcome message. It's a shame that this keeps happening when it could be easily prevented with a simple announcement in the welcome message.
