  1. I don't know if it's possible to make it dynamic but if so, make it so that the largest priv freq size is always 1/2 the current non-spec population or something like that. You could also implement one of those automatic eveners.
  2. I agree with neb that there is a problem--the TW safes near base entrances make it too easy to flank. Minimally the TW gate should be moved far away from the base entrance, particularly in base 3 which is what neb is probably thinking of. I don't see why camping at the tw gates is a problem unless you're a runwinner.

I agree that it should be in the news and the instructions to set the password should be in the welcome message, not the smart!@#$%^&* "Note that your current money and item statuses may not reflect their actual values." Sure, foreshadow what's going to happen to the newbie but don't tell them how to prevent it. Makes the staff look really smart when it happens without actually being helpful. And to those who say it's been warned lots of times, that's re!@#$%^&*ed because there's no way that a newbie or somebody who hasn't been on for awhile would know unless they happened to stumble upon one of these forum messages or be online right when something like this happens. Instead of keeping it a secret (lot of good that has done, hasn't it?), or saying the biller will save us, make sure that every time people log in they know that they need to have ?passwd set by putting the instructions in the welcome message. It's a shame that this keeps happening when it could be easily prevented with a simple announcement in the welcome message.

  14. I'd kinda like engine shutdown as an additional effect of an EMP bomb. But a 'dampening field' would be cool too.

  16. I think the coolest looking bombs are on SSE NoFear, while the coolest looking bomb explosions are on SSCB Final Revolt. Those would be cool to reuse if their owners aren't jerks about it. @Bomook: Check out NoFear--lightning orbs!

  18. Thought I would throw these out there. I don't know much about their feasibility. Engine slowdown or shutdown When you are chasing a runner (especially runwinners), it would be useful to have an item to counter them. For slowdown, you would effectively attach an item to the hull of your target that slows down their thrust/speed. This item would have a time limit and be removed after x (10-15?) secs. Alternatively you could just implement engine shutdown. I know that engine shutdown greens exist in SVS so I'm thinking that might be easier to implement. In terms of delivery, this might be a new bomb (maybe an upgraded EMP) or a new field (i.e. if an enemy passes through the field they experience the slowdown or shutdown effect), or maybe even a brick. Tractor beam The reverse repel. I know that this has been implemented in special arenas in TW (e.g. art), but I don't know if repel settings are global and you can't have both repels and tractors in the same arena. Both of these items would help slower ships (e.g. terrier) compete better.
