Now that would be interesting, as well as sad to see.

Off Topic: Because it's a nice biller with many nice functions and it's a lot less of a waste of time to use something already well made.

The ?find function isn't a client feature, it's a player database server. So your specific comment is in regards to the SSC Biller. I think on the Biller that Snrrrub runs called Isometry it displayed the exact number of days since a player was on. I'm not even sure if that biller or any of the SSA zones are still online, but that's where it is. I'm working on modifications to Catid's biller and I will keep this in mind when updating it. As to not go off topic, if anyone knows about ASM and converting it from intel to at&t, please send me a private message. I've done most of the work already.

I disagree. Just having a 4cyl is going to decrease the wieght of the car enough to make it worth it. The car itself isn't that heavy.

I been displeased with the installer for years now. You download and install continuum, and you get a server list overrun with dead zones and old servers. That looks really appealing to a new player don't you think? Every time I bring it up, and get the same remark from Polix saying he can just repack the installer. Now this has been an issue for years, and nothing has been done about it. I think it's a bigger issue than the fake population counts people view. The reason I think the installer issue is worse than the population count issues is the simple fact that seeing a list full of dead zones looks a lot worse than entering a zone that reports 100+ players and finding barely any to none in the public arena of the server, when a player presses esc-a they get a list and the number of players they are looking for are displayed somewhere. Granted, a new player doesn't usually know how to search for arenas, they also don't know how to download new servers, and neither do half the players that have been playing for years. I can go into any zone and talk to any person and ask the if they know how to download a new server list, and more often than not, they don't know how. Not only that, even the people that do know how, are using bad directory servers because the ones that are packed into the installer don't even work anymore, but I guess that's okay?

I played for about 5 minutes, seems interesting. Still some lag issues. I'll be very interested to see where this goes and what comes of it. Just wanted to mention a couple bugs I noticed. LC was afk and I was killing him. Sometimes it was fine, others would give me a double kill. Once was a very rapid double kill, and the other was delayed. On both occasions after I initially killed him, he briefly re-spawned in the same spot and instantly died again with no weapon collision. Another possible bug I noticed happened when someone else came on; I killed them both one right after the other with maybe .2 - .3 seconds in between kills, and when they re-spawned they were both in the same spot. I'm not completely sure if this is a bug or not, but I will try to repeat the scenario at another time and see if I get similar results or if this was a fluke.

Someone is cracking that ban whip!

Sure buddy.. Although I wont put it up as an arena in my zone. I'll put it up as its own zone.

It's a perfect way to represent it. It's exactly the truth.

We have moved to a new server as SSL is shutting down in about a week. You can download the new server now, just click zones and then download a new list and look for SSN Tri-Sector. You may also add it manually by entering: server name: SSN Tri-Sector IP: 108.59.253.96 Port: 6014 You will have to create a new name because we are no longer connected to the central SSC billing server, nor will we be connecting any time soon. I would like to thank L Y N X for providing great hosting for the past two years. Now that I have a VPS and SSL is getting shutdown, I can also offer anyone that would like a zone, a spot on SSN. I will only be hosting ASSS for now and no bots. I can also provide a website under the sub-domain of subspace.net. I am still working on putting everything together at this time, but it will all work out soon. Thanks again.

You can either create your banner (12x12 pixels) using your Continuum client by clicking Edit then Create / Edit Banners or simply pressed Ctrl + E, or you can create your banner elsewhere and save the file as .bmp format in your banners folder located where you installed Continuum. To select the banner you made, you must be in game and in spectator mode, and simply press esc, then b. And using page up / page down select the banner you want and press enter.

Just a comment for sprite management: It would be a nice feature if, for example you had an image you wanted to use that was facing up. You could use the lvz to rotate / flip it, rather than having to use multiple images in the lvz. Perhaps a system to rotate by degrees.

Things are looking up! Congratulations.

Was there a reason why I wasn't ranked by bot?

Maybe you'll have better luck requesting in-game help for this question? -
I think the exact opposite: When subspace was heavily populated there were many many zones. Many of which were hosted one of the many server host which provided both SSC (for the more populated zones) and a host network biller. The only person I know of that host a biller is/was Snrrrub for his SSA zones. And last time i checked isometry wasn't available. I remember a biller that Altec . and L. Chance used (I think Macaub biller?) which had lots and lots of players connected to it. Now with such a low population in all zones, and most of them being connected to SSC, it's the only real option to expect any (other than net-banned) players to connect and stay in a zone. When population was much hire years ago, a zone could easily thrive while not being connected to SSC, and now it's nearly impossible, and still very hard even with SSC. When I ran a zone with a average population of 30 players 90% of the day, it was given the chance to connect to the biller, which actually made the zone much worse. Score resets were monthly previously, which gave players a better chance to be much more competitive with public scores, and I lost all those SSC net banned players! Not to mention there were a lot more features on the biller and a BanG equivalent system with build in alias checking. I don't remember all the details, but I still think SSC is more valuable now than it used to be. Also, maintaining & moderation of the biller is much more delicate and important.

Does the game also freeze ./ crash if you press alt+tab? Change the bomb fire key to something other than tab, see if it still crashes or not. Try running continuum by itself with nothing in the background and see if the problem continues.

As with what cheese said, merging all the zones will never be organized, and will never happen from what lynx said, no one wants to hand over control to one super power. And a side note, imagine when that one server goes down, the whole game is affected rather than a single zone, or a single host. The mix of servers is a positive thing, but I urge you to read my rant.

TWChat> Pop=135 | Online=90 | Outsiders=6 | Bots=49 | Database=90 | Queued=0 | Last update 1 sec ago A lot of which do something, and a lot of which don't. Zones faking their population has been around since the begging of player run zones. I honesty don't see bots counting has players is all that much worse than the glitch which can be fixed on ASSS zones, and can be fixed on Subgame, and the that people set up the "peer" module even know how to fix it. The reason that this is justified in one sense, is that it gives more connectivity between multiple zones. I believe it is a good idea to try and mesh the zones together to promote larger games and cross zone events. The population isn't very high, and a lot of players that want to play end up sitting around waiting, or leaving. I've noticed Trench Wars bots aren't very stable, and they go down a lot, or specific event bots are not working, and the only thing that people were still playing was the public arena, and a lot of trench wars players rather play other competitive style events and end up just leaving the game, and checking back every so often until the bots are restored. I've noticed when HyperSpace goes off line, a lot of those players will go check out other zones and stay in one until there zone is restored. Using ASSS, it is possible to make a Central HUB Zone, where all players could enter and be well aware of what zones have what population, what each zone has for events, the status of those games, when new games were starting, news / info of tournaments, and honestly it could go into much further details. The only real issue I see with this, is using the redirect / moveto features on asss and subgame, the map and level files are all bundled into one zone folder. So an easy fix would be to have all zones lable their map and level file names to, ZoneInitials_ZoneInitialsMapName, for example: eg_egelim.lvl and eg_egelim_lvzname.lvz. And this would insure that zones didn't mix them up and force players to have to redownload the files every time. I think with the use of bots in both subgame and asss, you could enable a World Chat style bot, that would relay messages from the public servers in the other zones, bots can even pick up arena messages, for when they advertise events. Players could enable or disable any zone chat that wish to listen to, and simply be sent a remote message from a central bot in the Hub Server that all the other chat bots report pub messages to. (should also enable ignoring features to not receive messages from a specific player.) I don't think this would be possible on ASSS until being able to use the remote message function, (which I'm sure someone will claim works, so please prove it). The features you could implement in this system would be very beneficial to the ever shrinking population. And instead of reporting the amount of players for each zone, you can do away with directory servers, and pack the client with the (possible multiple) Hub Zone(s). I say multiple for 2 reasons, one, you could have one in Europe, US, UK, ect, not only so players at least get a good connection to a Hub Zone, but also for backups in case a Hub Zone Server goes down. Most zones I am sure will want to maintain their own server, but many small zones could even merge into a Central Hub Zone, and again this would greatly promote games and increase game sizes. Anyway, those are a few things I've thought about when thinking of ways to improve the game, I know if people put aside trying to do everything by themselves, this goal could be achieved.

I wish all ASSS zones would just run the redirect module to enable ?go was a way to jump from zone to zone. I have it setup so I can go to any zone on SSC, but I can't go back. Would be nice if everyone set up the same thing, excluding subgame servers.

I remember purchasing that for $5, not because I needed it, I was already playing subspace for free, but I just wanted the box and CD, and it came will some nice images.
