No amount of development can keep people interested in a bird's eye view 2d space ship game. That's where the community comes into play, which, sadly to say, is following an excellerated path of what you mentioned above.

That mentality has done nothing but cripple the process and expansion of this game, so maybe it's time for a change. This would be a good opportunity for the council to show they care for the game, since promoting yet another lifeless afk speccing bum into a position where he/she is required to help people would only further the already well known fact that the council doesn't care about this game.

Well, GS does visit this forum, and has been seen in this topic. I wouldn't doubt that he's keeping tabs on it and reading what people have to say, but the desision is ultimately his and/or the council's, and honestly, I have very little faith that the current council will do anything to promote the progress of the game or satisfy the people's requests to have someone who isn't a total !@#$%^&* clown helping the users. Chances are it will be someone who's been afk or in spec for the past three years and hasn't done anything to help the game (aside from someone who sysoped a zone five years ago or ran a site which was once popular, but has since died and eats up bandwidth and hd space (ie, 98% of the council))

SSRadio is in no way attached to TT and his server. The site is hosted by twsites, but the radio itself is on my dedicated server, so sharing won't be an issue since I wouldn't make the songs publicly available for download.

meh, I spend all of about 20 mins downloading full length movies, plus the quality and resolution is much better and I can watch them on my laptop when I'm out and about without an internet connection.

The radio will cover music of multiple genere's and DJ's of various skills and tastes from across the game, as well as interviews, shows, and whatever else the DJ's want to do durring their broadcast slot.

I think any new netops need to be people involved in the community, vocal, willing to state what's on their mind, and people who are geared twords helping the community rather than sitting in spec doing nothing while their zone dies. The current council is full of dead AFK people. It's time for some new blood if this game is to survive.

Tried that, RegisterFly isn't releasing my domain. I don't see the EPP code anywhere, and every time I try to make changes to my domain they don't take and I get an error about connecting to their API server.

Sorry for the lack of an update to the public, so here we go. Larrythehamster will be taking over SSRadio as it's lead DJ and admin. The current site is about 90% complete, and I'm pretty sure larry will stick with it. He's got the knowledge and ability to really get this thing to take off, so I've handed it over to him. For those who have already contacted me in reguards to being a DJ, I will p!@#$%^&* your info on to larry. For new people interested in DJ'ing, you can conctact either of us if you'd like to help out. I'll leave this thread open if anyone has any questions, comments, or suggestions, or would like to DJ.
