java isnt slow it just "feels" slow. Open office (big java app thats well optimised) feels much slower at times than ms office and other office suits. The reason why java seems slow is when using a gui java tends to lag. java i think works fine and exceedinly well for apps that dont have a gui. But on slower computers (ie less than 2ghz) the ui definattly has a lag to it in many java apps, that makes it "feel" slow. I hate using java apps because of this lag. c++, dephi/lazerus apps or even vb6 apps gui are 100 times smoother and more responsive.

You can acctually use regex in VB6. I dont think there are any missing string functions. Arrays are horrible agree with you there. VB7 is C# with a much more verbose syntax. They both use the same compiler. Visual Basic's last real version was vb6 it offically died then Cant argue with you there

Personally i dont care what happened x 100 years before i was born. I dont have any religious affiliation. I just want to be left alone! Why do people feel the need to be violent towards others for saying something or drawing a cartoon. When the danish cartoon was published in some parts of europe. We had of people demonstrating on the streets of london (i live in uk) and people dressing up as suside bombers, this was after 3 tube trains had been blown up by terroists. The ironic thing is london is the most ethinically diverse of all british cities and has a high muslim population they killed quite a few muslims.....1.5 million people marched in london against the war on iraq why should the people of the uk be made to suffer for decisions they do not agree with. The british press and media refused to print or reprint the cartoon. Why the need for the violent demonstrations. We didnt do anything. The same is true for this current "terrorism" its always against people who havnt done anything. Now if the attacks were against military or goverment targets, most people would see that as more valid targets than just the people. I dislike the way that terroism is being handled. The goverment has hyped up the fear factor and is pretty much able to do anything in the name of "stopping terroism" When the IRA was attacking the UK they were treated as criminals that they were, there was no need for "special" new laws, the existing crimes of murder and attempted murder and conspiry to murder were sufficent.

its not illegal. It more of a legal grey area. Its legality is in question when used in counties other than russia. allofmp3 offer the service that people want which unfortunally the record companies arnt interested in providing "legal" service of the same quality I'd rather download for free though. harder to find me without credit card details

The problem with VB is not the language its normally the programmers who code in it. Its very easy to write a vb app with very little knowlege the same is not true of most other languages. I have created a few vb6 apps that are used in production, do not crash and are stable and fast as any c++ program. I've even written a true mul!@#$%^&*hreaded vb6 app, which is not easy. The problem with vb6 is that there are many quirks in the language that if you do not know about can lead to memory eating and stability issues. Learning how to use windows api calls in vb is essential to get anywhere. However since c# has come out i have really swtiched to that as its a much better designed language and has none of the "interesting" quirks that vb has.

how far do the stats records go back. I mean as numbers not graphs. Would be interesting to just get a monthly highest population for each month...That way you could see what the long term trends where in the overall population were doing.

if you are feeling evil normally on the router there is an option to not allow certain mac addresses. just add his address to the list on the router. this isnt detected by windows, it looks like the wireless connection is connected then when he comes to ask why the internet isnt working even though its connected say idk your comptuer must be broke mine is fine:D
