  1. Just eat whatever you like and have a good time, too much thinking about it ruins half of it, pondering if you made the right choice
  2. The whole point of drawing lvz as tiles is because it's very flexible and you can do about anything you can do with them like tiles. It's more the management of those lvz's that's being redone so lvz can be added/removed easily
  3. I've just received my Jillian Goldin Origins cd today that I ordered last friday (US postal service -> Belgium in 5 days, !@#$%^&* fast!), and I love it ^^ It's a very rare occurence that i actually buy music , but i've always loved her tracks on OC Remix, so i figured i'd buy her first album (I thought it's better to support the yet not so famous artists by buying the music ^^), and i'm happy i did ^^ Definately worth checking out if you like new age music like Enya or Loreena McKennit, you can find the previews on http://www.jilliangoldin.com/music/ Edited severely several times to not sound like an overhyped fanboy *ahem*
  4. it's not that bad, honestly, i had my whole 4gb ram occupied once ... and each program was less than 100mb ram ... It was like: 2 games open (!@#$%^&* ppl interrupting me all the time), office (for my reports and all), jbuilder (for java programming needed for my project), vb6 (the occasional programming bit when i was distracted and thought of something to change in 1 of my 140 different projects, such as xdcc download manager annoying me again ^^), paint shop pro (taking screenshots to add to my report), 2-3 msn windows (ppl bugging me for once, that's a lot for me, usually noone starts a conversation with me .. wonder why ), yahoo messenger (to use voice conference with my friends (just the 2), few notepads (usually for viewing source code of webpages or todo list or something), percobol (had to make cobol stuff for projects), 2-3 internet explorers (yay for tabs, else there would be 10+, had to look up stuff, randomly view favs, etc), thunderbird (check my inbox for sporadically rare emails), azureus & xdcc download manager (for episodes downloading) .. and that's about it
  5. Sama's screenshot of the lvz window
  6. You can compare it with a pet. They absolutely want a pet, must have that pet and need that pet. But will they still take care of it after they get annoyed/bored of it ?
  7. I think it's because the lack of authority that the parents have, I mean you can't even hit or slap them anymore when they've done something wrong (well the more extremely never do it again wrong) without risking child abuse knocking on your door. Also divorces are on the rise, so they don't take their family seriously anymore. The problem with pregnancy is that you have to be responsible for it for a long time, compared to smoking or doing drugs. Once they stop using/doing that they don't have to be responsible for anything afterwards. Oh well, it makes up for those that did the suicide pact in the UK i guess
  8. Since when is is pregnancy a hype ? I didn't think there were still people moronic enough to be influenced by media and obviously-not-real-tv-shows. That's the kind of thing you'd expect from a 12 year old, not 16-18. It's probably that 1 or 2 wanted to go through with it and the rest couldn't refuse because of group pressure (I can't help but thinking 'serves you right' when they start complaining) Also a homeless guy is not a good gene pool for their babies, maybe they should pay more attention in biology how mitosis & meiosis works (heh not 'should have paid' because they probably still have it xD). If that's still educated in the us...
  9. hurray for sama ^^ If we rewrite it in c# (i know it the basics by now (because of asp)), it's better to make some uml class and sequence diagrams first ^^' so there's always an overview. Following the 3-tier model (GUI - Domain - DAL), it's not that hard to make the domain and dal for me, but i haven't worked with forms or graphics in c# so that would be more difficult
  10. The problem is that it has been over a year (august 07') since i last did something on DCME (i checked on svn). I didn't make any sequence diagrams that would help me remember the structure :/
  11. well if we extend the to pictomap a bit you could make vectors with different colors that represent different tiles. You could create your map entirely in photoshop with vectors and all and port it to a lvl file afterwards (though without lvz). lol, which is the same as the reply above
  12. haven't we thought of that before ? It could be that i thought of vectors before but forgot to write it down TRAITOR!
  13. yeah if you don't ipconfig /flushdns or clean out temp int files (including the hidden subfolders Content.IE5 or Content.MSO) and defrag your c: once in a while it tends to be a loooot faster on reformat ^^ I would have formatted mine today, but i forgot i 'lend' my only working windows cd to a friend .... siiiiiiigh
  14. TRAITOR! nah, a mac is useful if you browse internet or use office a lot. But that's about it (sure is quite expensive to do only that o-O)
  15. Ohh yeah, i can recall having the same problem once when i wanted to install serv-u >.> (so i switched to filezilla). Hm this reminds me to write an ftp server myself
  16. does it work with rectangle of special shapes (like symmetric shape) ?
  17. hmm does it work with asteroids :/ ? I thought it worked before, at least, before sama grouped stuff together to speed up things I don't have time to work on it atm as i'm in the middle of exams ^^
  18. you have comdlg32.DLL in your system32 folder, yes, that's what i see in your first screenshot. However, you don't need the .dll, you need the .OCX, comdlg32.OCX. Is that in your system32 folder. Btw why the !@#$%^&* do i make an installer that takes care of all that when nobody uses it >.>?
  19. it's not pretty to see someone suffering from it, there are other diseases out there that are far less painful to kill someone. If you had to choose between long painful death or quick death, i think quick death will be the winner
  20. when tribes get contacted they die of various diseases that we are immune to, but they never encountered them before so the die of it
  21. Compared to university, this is ez. Well at least, i found it rather easy, if you understood what to use and made a small summary the day before (it was possible to use whatever you wrote down) which i did it wasn't hard. But most ppl are just plain lazy and go out the day before I remember that in university my first exam of philosophy (yes, in the informatics course, ugh) everyone failed it, noone passed it. They had to scale it up so a few would p!@#$%^&* (i still had 1/20 on that gah)
  22. suckers @ BME (my school deparment), we just got the results of our 2 exercises (both for 25% of the exam) of ASP the results are quite bad lol, can't say i'm surprised zg: 11 7,19% (very good, >=35/50) g: 6 3,92% (good, <35/50) v: 24 15,69% (enough, <30/50) o: 112 73,20% (not enough, <25/50) Total of 153 students (well 154, but 1 was absent) (i have a very good, duh ^^) lmao though
  23. That must have been the first non-french langunage on french tv, all series are dubbed , suckers
  24. i still have lots of stuff that i already made, but i post some of them only once in a while , this was done in beginning of february, just after my exams
  25. This is something i've done a while ago, i was playing lotus III in dosbox and i've always wanted to make a similar engine that makes the illusion of 3D with 2D spriting. So i started on it once but it failed miserably, i did some research, only to find out there's absolutely nothing to be found on that subject. The one thing i found was a mario kart demo clone in flash and there was a small explanation how it worked. Aside from that it was pretty much improvising for me Anyway, the turns suck, i used a exponential equation in the calculations, totally based on how well it looks if i used it. But then again, the entire thing is a visual perception hack anyway, nothing mathematical logical about it. Test start runs the engine with the parameters that you can change on the right (aside from auto-steer & fps lock). The 'Start' button runs a better racing simulation by throwing a car that you can control with the arrows (up & down = speed, left & right is steer), you can use the auto-steer to let it .. well .. steer automatically, sometimes choppy, but it'll do, and some super-fast action with unchecking fps lock . Other than that, nothing much to play with, source code is more important if you're interested in making pseudo-3D Btw the rain is made by a stripped down version of my particle editor Fake3DSpoof.zip (i make too much stuff )
