  1. When clicking the button to Hide the TileSet etc it throws an error on this version. "Run-time error: 340; Control array element '0' doesn't exist"
  2. TileEdit - Old alternative Program for Editing tilesets stored in LVL's. DCME has one built in to it. Press Ctrl + E or from the menubar click Edit > Edit Tileset The beta/newer version has a button above the tileset as a shortcut to the editor also. The tiles themselves are just a bitmap picture, which you can obtain from an LVL using DCME. Open a map and goto File > Export Tileset this will let you save the tileset of the current map as a bitmap. Now you can either 1. edit it with an image editor of your choice or 2. Open the Tileset editor in DCME. http://www.trenchwars.org/twdev/images/tedit.jpg The top Box is the current map's Tileset, the bottom is for the image you load in to edit/transfer. You can drag and select either a single tile or a group of tiles, shown by the outline boxes above... When you have the tiles you want to change/move right click on the tile or group and drag to the top box of the current tileset. Drop em and they'll replace the ones where you dropped em. All done. For more custom tiles you need to save the tileset as a bmp from the export option and edit them with your image editing programs. The Image edit in DCME was buggy and now Sama has removed it in the up and coming releases. Oh and if you make a tileset with ur Fav image editor, save it as a BMP and goto File > import Tileset and its put in ur map! Hope that helps.

  5. I've been making a cfg editor for a few years now inbetween other things written in Delphi 7... Currently working on a multi-do!@#$%^&*ent version of it (version 2) which expands on my orginal simple one. Sama has seen version 1, i once offered to make a vb version for DCME but it never eventuated cos of other projects etc. Though im not the worlds best coder im sure my work could be done better, but hey... As for a suit of apps, i think DCME should be the "focus app" and have some sort of plugin/addon system (or launchpad?) for other tools that go hand in hand with arena/event development... Edit: My crappy cfgEdit v2. Please Note that this has only been developed for me, more thant likely has bugs... And apart from me only a few others from TWDev have used it ...
  6. Actually Ace never asked me to do anything, i was bored and found that forum that you guys had, that id been told about like a month ago. So to evelvate my bordom i made a layout. I never intended to be a webmaster as such, i just uploaded the template via ftp later for you guys to mess with if u wanted to. I figured id give you guys something to start with and develop on. Meh...
  7. In fact, it was a pain in the @$ to look at and find stuff. Although this design is a whole lot more organized and easier to understand visually, it still carries on a linear-vertical layout. I think each download should have a button on the left, a description to the right of that button, and the !@#$%^&*le right above both the download button and description. Slight change, not sure if there is any better way to do it, but eh...maybe split it into 2 columns of plugins and files. I think the new design is fine, and over time Rii should look forward to doing complete recodes from scratch occ!@#$%^&*ionally to help improve his knowledge and experience with XHTML. I Do and will, i just don't have a huge amount of time on my hands right now... Work is taking alot of spare time away, but im sure thats the same for most people here that have other things going on in their lives. And I do admit that i still need to learn and brush up on my xhtml/compilance standards more.
  8. Ups for the constructive crit! When i get time i'll redo it... Prolly remove the css framing (its not an iframe, but looking at it now with content as such doesnt work well...) But like i said i did not spend much time on it at all. I was ment to be working - Time is money, money is time... @Ace - Take it on the nose and grow from this...
  9. Agreed, and those issues will be dealt with in time. Even though we have more work to do now. Ace jumped the gun a bit as you implied, but hey its all good.
  10. It's just a picture? And it was more interesting than a Plain text heading... PHP is planned to be implemented, Ace just decided to put the layout up. I didn't check the validation since i spent about 30mins on it when i was at work bored... Meh...

  13. If u have DCME already with a settings file it works perfect, didnt when it had to generate the file and ask user about checking for new updates... Resolved anyway
  14. DCME v3.3.0 - 1st bug! Splash screen wont close cant even click dcme window cos its disabled, and splash screen is ontop of all other windows ^^

    v1.1 Crash

    No, looks like the same as L Y N X's issue, basically cos it can't directly connect to the internet here it locks up... Log shows the network thread aborting error. For the other issue: I connected to trenchwars, so it's ip/port details shouldn't have changed any time in the near future. Maybe it was the computer i used and it couldn't write the data (i don't see a config file so i'll assume it's stored in the registry)... When i went into preferences the deatils for trenchwars were there, but it wouldn't connect (and crashed) if i went to the Toolbar menu and did conect, but would if i went back into the preferences and double clicked the zone again to refresh the data? I'll try replicate it again if i can and give you more details, i don't have the net currently anywhere but work atm...

    v1.1 Crash

    I found that i can use and connect to a zone fine (this is at home). The issue came the next day, application had been turned off and i hit connect straight away and the client crashed. Opening Starlight again, going to preferences and readding the zone seemed to fix the issue. Its not retaining the connection details ? I was bored at work the next day and tried it there also, they have all the ports locked down and internet connects via a proxy server, so i found that Starlight doesn't like not receiving a connection to the net/reply from the server and crashes also.
  17. Yes, that is the point, never intended it to seem that i was saying otherwise. The large auto tiling for backgrounds was just a handy tool from CLT is all. And i totally agree that the Management of the LVZ is the biggest focus, user friendliness is the goal for a newbie to use. In a perfect world teaching them about how LVZ actually works is better because they gain a through knowledge of how it does what it does... People that i've taught in the past i've gotten the basics of lvz ini's down with them before letting them use an editor/tool just for that reason.
  18. Hey guys nice to see some more work, hope exams/school/work etc went well during ur time away from this project... Im glad that you've created a wizard to make LVZ more user friendly for the LVZ novices, atm its a bit confusing trying to add and do most lvz things in DCME without prior knowledge of the inner workings of LVZ itself and even then, yeah we're lazy so uhhh... < edit > Im blind... am i not Samp? < / edit > Large scale tiling with lvz? Example: Background image is selected and u can press a button to tile it as the entire map background? This used to be a painful experience when calculating and doing this manually for an LVZ ini If you can impliment this then DCME will have the greatest functionality of all the map editors currently in the community.
  19. Subgame holds maybe 50+ (don't know exact figure) details for logins in its temp memory. So if ur on before the biller goes down and havnt been bumped out of the temp memory its holding for that data because of newer users details being recorded... U can login and out as per normal cos subgame still has your authentication details. Prolly not the most exact/detailed explanation of how it works, but thats basically why.
  20. I don't know if it would be possible with SS's protocol, but proxy options? I wanted to use it at my new job when i had spare time, but to link to the net on our servers you have to login to the proxy server, and i don't think socks5 is enabled I can setup MSN/AIM via the HTTP proxy, but like i said i don't know if SS protocol works on anything other than socks5 since im not deeply involved with continuum's inner workings. An im a full administrator on the network before you ask that I get to bust students looking up porn since im the 2nd IT admin at this school lol, fun disabling accounts then getting them coming in asking why

  22. Just an idea, for open ended development... What about the ability to have "plugins" for DCME? Like add on apps which can be managed to expand on it to become more than a map editor. And saves you the trouble and others of adding code to be compiled with the main app?
  23. Acutally no i havnt Drake. I will try that. It seems to be something to do with vb6 and vista. Happens with anything made using these related files... Im gonna research into what others have done to register these files with vista. I think i tried once to register these files manually to no apparent avail. ---------- Edit: Used the setup, same problems still, both the Preferences one and when DCME shuts down (it closes but windows thinks something is wrong and says its unresponsive) I also autoupdated...
  24. oh, another tought Auto-LVZ'ing for backgrounds... Say you have a square gr!@#$%^&* image, you could select that image in the lvz manager and click a button "Tile-Background" and it'll add it over the entire arena... CLT has something like this if i recall... Yay for making more work for you guys
  25. Also on that note. Instead of having to Export the LVZ file, cant both map and LVZ file get saved at the same time to same place from save dialog? So if both arent saved or have been updated ctrl + s and ur done etc... I thought it saved with map when i 1st tried it untill i noticed the export button
