Seeing that 17th's is coming to its end. As with all games no matter how good they are, I propose we hold a 17th finale night. On this night, everyone that has played 17th can come back for one more night and enjoy the zone one last time. I think it would only be apropiate that we hold it on December 30, seeing that no one will come if it was on New Year's Eve. And at the end of event we officially sign off and close down 17th Parallel. It's only fitting that a great zone go out with a bang rather than fiddle away into oblivion. Instead of remembering that 17th died very slowly, we'll all remember that it did come back for that one last night.

Either that, or people just got bored of the game. Games tend to have that side effect.

you think i dont know this? Ive seen kent, cord, corpion, and many others say they shall leave and then end up coming back regardless. so knowing that, im not just saying this. Sure ill come on every once in a long while to say yo, see whats goin on. Its just that I got other things to do..

It has been a fun time, but I've gotten bored of this zone and game, so I'm leaving. There are other things for me to do with my time. I'll probably come on from time to time to see whats goin on, maybe once a mth or somethin like that for a quick jaunt, but thats about all. You all have a fun time, and stay in touch. Good idea. We should definetly have 2 weeks of advertising before it takes place so all those who only come on occasionally have a chance to know about it. There really needs to be better advertising of planned events in 17th. Need to do more than just simple little bot messages that pop up randomly. Should post somethin in the zone news section, and have staff advertise it during pub pop spikes.

We could set up a minimal amount of rumble that need to be played in order to be ranked.

To account for the people who play a lot of rumble matches, and get a higher rating, I think we should do an average based rating. Like in most professional sports, I think the rating should be based on Winning Pct. We could also make the rating the midpoint of a players kill/death avg, and the players win/loss avg. For example: Kill/Death- 100-50 .667 Win/Loss- 10-0 1.000 Rating- 83.35 Since the mid way point would be .8335, and rating doesnt do that sort of decimal stuff, we could just do 83.35. Ya know, the player kill/deaths are 66.7% kills, and his win/loss is 100% wins, his rating would be 83.35%. So a players rating can never be higher than 100.

That was done before, and that is why I think our last pubmap before complex was the best one. No north, flags in the bases, and little nooks and crannies were added to the bases over time. One in particular allowed me to score through the tubes, which was just plain sexy. I think that pub map would be the best one to have, on a smaller size of course.

We should just worry about making changes to the map first and not worry about bringing top100 or making a ranking system just yet. We should just worry about making a way to speed up the soccer game by having the map smaller and making the map to where the soccer game is the most relevant part. We can worry about top100 and other add-ons later. One thing at a time.

SNOo, tis is a perfect time to shrinken the pub map as well to speed up the ball game. After a good game gets goin in the current map and one team wins, all the players immediately spec because of bein tired of playin the game. That is becuase the map is so big and it takes forever for a game to be played. With a smaller map the game will be sped up a bit and 2 or 3 games can be played without a player gettin tired. I just thought that while gettin rid of north, this can be a perfect time to shrinken the map as well.

I agree with Telson. The soccer game needs to be sped up a bit. Pub probably should be shrank to sblball size.

vegita, my thought was host 4 new events in the first mth, which there have been more than 4 new ones made already. then at the end of the mth we vote for the best one to become a mainstay (or something to that effect). The 3 events that lost the vote will try again the next mth with a new event coming in. So thats only 1 event having to be made every month, and Ive been hearing there have been around 10-12 already made. I'm sure this can easily be done, in terms of having a consistent run of good events coming in and not running out of ideas fast and having crappy events. This also can be done with old events that havent been played for years. Ya know like billiards or repel, we can put one of those old events in the monthly contest or whatever ya wanna call it. but anyway its work time, gtg.

Ya know what would be cool. In terms of keeping events "fresh". I've seen a lot of orginal events being developed by a lot of people, this already being mentioned on this thread. Maybe we should host 1 new event each week. Like a promotion type deal for that particular event. And then the next week, we host another new event that was developed. And at the end of each month we hold a vote for which event should be a new regular event. And the others that lost that vote will go at it again the next month with new events continually being developed. Now thats only 4 new events in the first mth, and maybe 1-2 new events being developed in the mths afterward. There are a lot of ideas for events out there that can be put into action. And hay, maybe old events that havent played for years can be put into this category as well!

I think it's time that 17th attempt to jump to the next level. Its been like this for a few mths now with 15-30 coming in each night. If the zone is going to make a come back it needs to continually move forward, the way its lookin right now, the zone isnt goin any further. It just seems to be stuck at this point in its revival. I suggest, something be hosted 3-4 times a week. From noticing that DT brings in a higher and longer lasting pop spike than the usual night, I really think an event hosted every other night or something like that will do the same. I'm not sayin only one event should be hosted, but somethin different each night.
