Perhaps you don't grasp the significance of such a predicament: when people die, they are gone, forever. Whether or not there is an afterlife is irrelevant at the point of death, because it is not a certainty. People show respect and try to remember those who die because the probability is low that they will ever see them again. Maybe it's time people like you grow up and realize that this life is fleeting. If you do not care, then don't comment. But clearly, you care enough to comment. Actually been following this story for awhile, and I am 18 and live in fricking Iowa. I'd say she's dead, but anything is possible. Afterall, Elizabeth Smart survived for a long time because her kidnappers became her caretakers, or something like that. Only to return home to be exploited. Her parents are quite irresponsible.
