Wow thats low Vile... quoting Willy Wonka Just let 17th die, or even better re-name it. Be -*BAD WORD*-ed if its anything but 17th now. In truth the only thing it seems to be now is Rumble. Reload speaks true words that many who have played in this zone for more than 3 months will generally agree on. 17th Parallel is now BORING. Maybe its because we have played here a long time, maybe because we can kill most the current players in pub without trying, or maybe its because there is no challenge from where there should always be. Trench wars, DSB, Chaos, all zones which even after years of playing STILL have old timers playing because there is still a challenge for them in pub, event and league. We don't have a good public anymore, therefore we don't have a good league and therefore we are suffering in a huge way. Staff needs to fix it and fix it fast but like we know, that won't happen unless you include random spontaneous downloads for various crap. But saying that players have ranted on for months (maybe years now?) about wanting things changed. Trial settings turned to full time settings, the map hasn't changed for even longer and inner settings like damage, bounty and greens have been tweaked back and fore so much. Staff didn't listen then, staff won't listen now. It really is that simple. They have a plan on some sort of humongous (sp?) proportion thats been brewing for years... so far Vile's settings have been the only thing and they havn't spent more than a day in pub and feed back seemed to be ignored and those plans then pushed to the side. Whiel all this happens i'll sit back and eat popcorn wondering who will take the next step to killing the already dieing form of 17th Parallel ^_^

Note: Just to say something else (in a double post ^_^) People are saying they are complaining because they can, or because its new and all that other crap I've seen this thing from the forums grow and be updated each week (the map) and havn't had a chance to play it. I play it now its been tweaked and find nothing 'special' about it. It has flaws which can't be fixed, where as the old map was boring to me because of how long I played with it, it did have advantages to all ships in every place that they would be. It had the right time of length for the ball to be scored (and the right ball keeping time!) You have made one way ridiculously short without any real way of stopping it without spending all day by the tubes :/ or a long way around where teamwork in 17th doesn't exist to any real standard. At the end of the day any of our opinions wno't mean a -*BAD WORD*- thing. 17th will still put any map up because todays 17th players won't leave, they are too addicted and liking to the zone (heavens know why!) Newb tactics have been increased, 'laming' has been centered more throughly and this map has nothing appealing to its qualties apart from it looks nice when you press Alt. It seems this will be our new pub map, it also seems you might drive out one or two more veterans for no return in newbs. Cutting your own throat but like I said above, opinions mean -*BAD WORD*- all in this zone

I don't like it... I havnt played with a big population yet but its too long yet too small. All you seem to have done is extend the left and right tunnels and then encouraged the weasel, the ship that not alot of people like because it doesn't fit in (suprisingly you play the weasel - from what I've seen anyway) There seems no point in going the long way around so far because of the fact you can just 'tube' the ball. That in its self is crap. The terrier is suffering, the javelin and the weasel have increased potential (especially the weasel) and the other ships don't seem to fit in many other places. I can't see this being played lots and lots, its... boring lol I hate the map we usually have but this is worse from what I can see so far. Thank you for trying but this attempt isn't something I think we should use... ever again... It won't be pub map, it smells to be slightly polite

As far as i'm concerned, do whatever, this zone is past me caring now because of how long everything has been said and bugger all was done that was actually good. All I will say is, make the bases east and west, I don't like playing on north and south bases, I feel almost at a disadvantage and prefer flying and shooting down rather than up. If its east and west it will make no difference in terms of game play but no one can complain about the strange feeling of it all

Wow... you REALLY need to learn how to paragraph. I'm not even going to attempt to read that big ol' pile of stuff. Whats happened is Maka has put down his opinion and supported it, it wasn't liked (I am with Maka on this - if you aren't part of the zone why should we give you powers to it? Help; yes but control, no) Staff doesn't like opinions, -*BAD WORD*- half of ex-staff were fired because of opinions. Most the people I see now still in staff are blinded by either being in power too long to actually care as much as they should; they see themselves as the bosses upon other volunteers who often have more care for the zone than them, themselves. -*BAD WORD*- when I was an ER and I laid down the fact I wanted to stay an ER because I didn't want any of your upperstaff we-want-to-help-but-don't-like-productive-ideas -*BAD WORD*- This has been said time and time again so by different people, people who are respected in game by the players (you know, those little guys you staff keep -*BAD WORD*-ting? the most important part of the zone) so obviously with all this being said they must all be thinking SOMETHING right. Yet because of upper staff ideals it keeps turning pear shaped. Even to the point where you are firing a loyal 17ther, respected player and someone who has good points because he doesn't think a random newbie of the zone (Don't care how many years you have played, still a newbie to every zone you havn't been in for at least a few weeks) should be mod and -*BAD WORD*-ed right I think. But hey, we all know what you do to opinions that won't work to YOUR plans eh? -Maka for H-Sysop-

Haha this is sooo 1337. I once had EXACTLY the same thing done to me!! I called ER>Kentai a newbie (guess what; he was! He couldn't even use *arena properly -.-') and I got suspended for 2 days. Then I finally get my powers back and am hosting an event days later. Naedhaha does a *kill on me (-*BAD WORD*- ) and guess what? NOTHING HAPPENED! w00t! No suspension, no warning, in fact he was applauded O.o' 17th Staff was gone down the -*BAD WORD*-ter and everyone that has experiance to help isn't wanted! Delic is one of the most respected in the zone simply for his veteran status here and random quirky comments. He has done alot, player side for the zone, in my opinion effectively keeping many other jav vets in the zone. -*BAD WORD*- at one point he had at least 2 jav squads ready for the jav league. Staff on the other hand has this problem... it comes down more to too much power on one person. We have a few Moderators with any lack of sense, ERs who don't know how to host, Newbies in staff who struggle for over 100 hours in SS and less than half that in 17th and this divide of staff between 'upper' and 'lower' from which the upper regard themselves as god; every action performed by them shall not be addressed, it is 'right'. Sad to see this happen again to you Maka, sort of sucks big time :/ I truthfully don't know where Mav stands anymore and we used to talk alot. I suppose all I can say is, this is game, staff - you are not Gods, relax, lighten up and stop using personal vendettas against people. -*BAD WORD*- no wonder 17th is dieing -.-' (I remember when it was practicly tradition when a new staffer was hired for some sort of joking insult upon them to be thrown around staff but you can't swear now in staff chat - gets you suspended )

Sounds aren't needed. SS sounds suck. I mute the sounds because they are a complete waste of time. If people want to know something, tell em it, don't use some crappy sound that people can spam into your computer. If I want msome fancy noises I will go out and buy some techno junk. Listen to proper (rock) music; it helps you concentrate

Yes NBV I know games are made for money but also gaming companies used to think of the want for a GOOD game from which they saw that more important. Ideas, new devlopments and a proper storyline were actually thought out and were all placed together for some true master pieces. They were made for money but also very much for a PROPER RPG and well alot of todays supposed rpgs are money making scams. Bad gameplay, bad story line, simulated battle and 'tactical' ideas. This is why the SNES rules so much (although the NES is right behind it ) People now a days are making uber graphics for games and alot of people are !@#$%^&*uming good graphics make a good game. -*BAD WORD*-o? You guy plays a 2D game and would argue it betters not many other online games simply for the skill level. Too much thought has gone into graphics its ruining proper game play for RPGs in my opinion :/ Also can I raise a point on your post NBV where you say: Have you played FF 1, 2 3 (5) and 4 (6)? FF9 reminded me too much of a bad FF3(5). It seemed almost the same battle system and almost the same copy of the tactical side of FF5 (Although admittedly there is a lack of tactical depth in FF but you can't have everything) while I swear I have seen a copy of FF8's tactical and battle system in a old SNES game. FF10; well I can't fully comment upon that. I have FF10 at home (going back in a few weeks so will play it then) but from what I've seen, know of the story, etc. its pretty bad... also whats with a captain called 'Wakka'!? FF10-2 is an easy, cheap version of FF10 lasting barely hours and filled only with cheap half dressed female sprites :/ (que Ricebowl) FF11 seems a wanna-be WO or Evercrack
