  1. Sure, if you can find one. I haven't really played any games since I got my laptop, some COD4, but not much.
  2. Hynix is a brand that HP typically uses. Kingston is the only HP certified replacement brand I know of, so no doubt some sub-contract of theirs.
  3. I remember playing that on Gamecube. Was one of the 1st games of that type I actually liked.
  4. Sitting on my computer now.
  5. Seems the VRPG is still moving forward, new version soon. I did find fixes to a Bank bug, and the issue with the menu. Now when you goto the marketplace, etc. It will continue to load that menu, not the standard home menu it use to keep loading, and not allowing you to click on that menu again.
  6. Thursday, Jan 24th Arcade will be uninstalled. I plan to whipe it fully out of the database, and get rid of any old and unused tables from it. I will then install a newer version of the arcade, and change out a lot of the games. Some of the less played will be gone, and some newer ones added. I'd also like to update SS RPG, and see what is up with VRPG (may uninstall it if it has died as it seems, http://www.google.com/search?q=VRPG Result #6, kinda funny).
  7. Well, I find it funny that if your ip changes, the easiest way to do so, is delete and reinstall your adapter without a restart. Your macid doesn't get broadcasted to the zones, and you can go in freely. Kind of scary that something so simple, can get you around the only nature of bans we have.
  8. Now, you've all missed the most complete and obvious fact as to why this game is dying, and there is no bringing it back. 2007: Est 1.3 billion internet users 1997: Est 101 million internet users Now, the internet has changed derastically over the years. It has gone from geeks, a few lucky kids, and businesses, to the general populous. Our general user base has changed, and no longer do we have people who are more willing to interact together, go out and do something cause noone else it, and have one generalized thought be pretty well accepted. That is what helped subspace thrive went hundreds of fan sites, and all the sites use to work together. SSCentral, Subspace.net, and Downloads.Subspace.Net got together and brought what you have now, SSForum.net and SSDownloads.com. Sites use to have general ideas, and worked together to get everything done. This was the same with zones, leagues, squads, etc. There we're more people who understood the responsibility they had with having moderator powers in a zone, and what it meant having them. It wasn't just something thrown around, or a few hundred players a year got. If you had been a moderator, that was something unique, as zones rarely had to change them out. Now a days, even being a sysop of a ssc zone has little meaning anymore. The playerbase has changed, and the players no longer understand that they are playing a dying game, like we did. And we decided to step up, and not let it die, and do everything we could. And it wasn't just 1 or 2, or 10 like it is now, there we're hundreds, and they we're all making zones, working together on zones, and trying to help this game thrive. This is what really makes it hard for me to focus on SSCentral like I use to. Use to I could have a new design out on a site over night. Now, look, it's taken me over a year, just due to lack of time. I have no motivation to get it done quick, as all I see is a playerbase who no longer "cares" about the game they play, it really honestly makes me care less and less. I'm not aiming this at all of you here, cause obviously, I put a lot of time into SSForum, but the general playerbase of this game. One who expects everything to be done for them, and not to have to do much themselves. So really, COTFC is probably LONG gone, and will never be around to see the death of this game, as it has outlived any of our life expectancies. But really, if people don't start stepping up and stepping on other people who are stopping them from getting stuff done, I give us only a few more years before we are nothing more than a chat program with a game built in; one very few people play.
  9. There is the old irc servers for ss, and most still have pop/old players who idle in them.
  10. Joe is hooked, everytime I go over to his place, atleast once at some point, he is playing WoW. Wheter it be when I get there, during, or leaving, lol. And it always comes up in some conversation. Not that I'm whinin bout it, but just sayin, he is hooked. Edit: oh, and not to mention, he got his Wife addicted also. So that really puts a kill to him ever quitting.
  11. Looking at both the bases, the layout highly reminds me of an old base in EG. Funny enough, where Legas and his brother AnacondA have designed many maps and bases. There is only so many layout ideas for bases that work, so you just have to keep modifying them slightly.
  12. Been working with the ss websites for over 9yrs now, sscentral 8ish, and ssforum since I helped create it in 2002, so 5.5yrs or so. Kind of sad to think, but eh. I learned a lot working on this stuff, from barely knowing html back in 97ish, to knowing php and mysql almost like the top of my *$%^ (had to say it). Glad you guys have enjoyed it though. Sadly a lot of posts have been lost during 1 db crash in 03 (120,000 posts lost, and almost zone and squad forums), a brutal deletion rampage by spyed right after I re-took the reins in 05 (70,000 posts lost), and around 20,000 posts deleted by one of the 17th sysops round the same time. But I have to say, been smooth the past few years. Except next time someone pulls a spyed, we have a lot in place to stop it.
  13. At the store they don't use any hdmi cables and we broadcast full 1080i on our premier tvs.
  14. fixed easy chess so low score is best. Any others like this?
  15. SSZ was 1 of many this happened to, and yet it seems to be the most talked of, probably because the rest we're many years ago. Non-SSC use to be almost as big as SSC itself, and it didn't use to ultimately matter, and SSC was even more strict then. They loosened up, and a lot of the zones who helped flourish non-ssc moved to SSC, and players followed. Many billers died due to lack of players jumping around their zones, and yeah, you get the string effect. ExS, ExST, -*= =*-, SSXH, SSWC, probably lots more I could name who all had 3 or 4 zones with 40+ pop, !@#$%^&*, one zone I helped run -*=Bulldogger=*- actually broke 120. Same thing happened to them, took forever to gain SSC, and when the few who earned it did, the rest of the servers/billers kind of died. So really, opening up SSC killed non-ssc, and the fact there is such a lack of non-ssc zones who are worth SSC, what is the worry. I've opened servers 3 or 4 times over the past few years, and have found VERY FEW zones worth hosting. And by the few non-ssc zones there are right now, I'd say that stays the same.
  16. Trust me, banning IS NOT AN ISSUE... If you saw the OLD net-bans list... dear god... LT probably owned 3/4 of them, and probably was 200-300/yr.

But yes, it is... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22649329/?GT1=10755 Really now, is the news that slow?
  18. My commuter... has newer tires, and exhaust is finally on order, but it gets me point a to point b with only 1 or 2 fill ups a month http://a582.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/66/l_69bcd57186c3d873e1cf08f00b9ff9ed.jpg The beasts... 81 Cutl!@#$%^&* and 71 Chevelle. Chevelle needs a lot of work, use to be our family car back in the 80s (that and a 70 mustang), now me and my dad's restoration project this summer. My cutlass well, gas prices just hurt my wallet to much with it, so it kind of sits a lot for now. Letting my bro drive it when he needs to, but I just leave it at the parent's house. http://a176.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/77/l_37c2522fd5ea7d52200c3e5cf4bd697f.jpg Right after I put the dent in the front back in 06, so painful to look at http://b8.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/00556/86/83/556133868_l.jpg
  19. 1. No new major development: Many newer games and cs mods I play have learned this is key to keeping a player base, and if you watch their servers, you'll notice this is fully true. Those who kept a lot of development, and then stopped for a bit, have almost died off. Those who kept going have flourished even more than I think they'd have imagined. And finally, others have learned to be a bit more on upkeep and releasing new !@#$%^&*, and have noticed their servers beginning to get more interested players. 2. No centralized website. I am trying to put something together, but I ask for help, give people what I need, and what I have for them to help fill, and nothing ever happens. Freakmonger was the 1st to ever finish a page, and was one of the later of his group I gave the stuff to. My time on the computer is lacking, and I need all the help I can get, and really, I want the community to help on this, as, it will be the center stage if all gets completed, and done right. 3. ASSS is the future. Many of us have been discussing this, and it is true. 1 of the major zones is now fully looking into it, and hopefully will follow HZ and Hyperspace's path. Hyperspace has been just rockin lately and is the ONLY zone gaining population and growing at the moment. Brain and D1st0rt are geniouses, along with all of their dev team in going with ASSS and building upon it. It is the future, without question. No doubt if more used it, it'd put a bit more behind grel to be more vigorous about releasing updates and smashing bugs, or others to form a dev team for it. 4. Too many new client projects. I support new clients yes, but I won't do it in the public eye as much due to the issue that I don't want people coming to sscentral or any other site for that matter, and seeing we just switched to Continuum, and suddenly, we're trying to switch again. Yes we have no choice really, as priit won't do much, but it shows that our developers have a lack for keeping with their project (subspace client included). So really, don't take any offense if I won't post news updates or put a download up for your client. Subchat2 will be yes, but that is a chat client, nothing more. I could probably go on, but I got other things to tend to.
  20. Seems to be working now.
  21. http://digg.com/tech_news/Dreamhost_mistak..._multiple_years As some of you may remember, this was the host Maverick and few others we're constantly recommending. I finally did it for their big 10yr deal, and well, I haven't seen the charges on my card (YET atleast), I got hit too. It is funny how much some people are overreacting to this though. I can understand wanting some things refunded, but they are going as far as wanting to hurt the company, but expecting free !@#$%^&*, which will again hurt them more. I dunno, I guess that's why I keep my $4500 cc down around $300, so I never have to worry about autobilling from any site hurting me. Confusing E-mail to wake up to: Spoiler! --Click here to view-- and the later apology, on top of all the ones on their site, blog, and forums: Spoiler! --Click here to view--
  22. Why not both?

    Banned?

http://bang.sscentral.com/ Under ban type, choose caught in ban. Our BanG Ops are pretty fast at resolving these things, so be patient.
  24. [Directory] IP=sscentral.subspace.inet.fi,sscentral.ds98.com,sscentral.s bspacehq.com,sscentral.subspace.net All 4 of those domains no longer belong to the subspace community. [Directory] IP=sscentral.sscuservers.net,sscentral.trenchwars.org,ssdir. laysubspace.com Try that.
  25. Tribes use to be fun, but dunno, just lost my interest.
