I doubt the source will ever be released. I see not point in releasing it, there's no one I know I would trust to keep the source and update cont. And there's no point giving a trusted person the source if they aren't going to work on it. Rewriting the client is not a sensible option, you will never get a player base as large as cont is now. I am !@#$%^&*uming a new client would be incompatible with subgame (the only safe way to do it without killing cont - think of the new client like an artificial black hole made by scientists, they may have good intentions but the entire planet then gets sucked into it killing us all). Don't go on about "the massive linux user influx", I would say almost all gamers use windows. Realistically I see two options: - Forget it and just play while you still can. - Quit now and get over it.
