technically, this duel tournament series is not jav-based. just so far, weve done just jav duels, but if u look in the original post above, there is a clause stating that it can be multiship. i dont know how well it would go over with the people, but we may put it into effect in one of the upcoming weeks, depending on the interest in the series. no you did. you said you just dont get excited. excited and wood are not synonymous. also, this statement is prejudice. some states have made a name for themself with their inbreeding. you arent being fair to them ;P

Because we have decided to require at least 10 participants for each match of the Duel Tournament Series, and we didn't get enough to show up tonight, this week's match has been rescheduled for 8PM est on Wednesday, August 16. If it turns out well on Wednesday, we may permanently move it to that day. The poll above is just to see what you players think, if it would be better to host it on Wednesdays instead of Sundays.

right now, any jav-only leagues aren't going to do well. most of the old jav players either dont play at all anymore, or play other zones and refuse to give 17th a chance. its a shame, really. but because of this, we are planning to focus on multiship events to include all players. javelin leagues are the reason the 17th population was always divided into the javvers and the pubbers, which ultimately helped kill the population. I say helped because I'm not putting all the blame on that, it was many factors. But anyway, back on topic. Right now, population is still unsturdy, and we must break that barrier between pubbers and javvers, or else the zone is never going to work. It hasnt ever worked that way.

more staff = more criticism luco and lisa already makes fun of the amount of staff we have considering our population. not that lisa matters in any way, but luco still plays, sorta. but i dont agree with mike, and i dont disagree with mike. we do plan to hire a few more ERs for the euro crowd that im hoping starts comin in during the EST daytime hours, but theres no plan to hire 8934985189 new staff members. we have me and cord as sysop (nurples and mike also, but they dont count), sama and larry for smod, and naht & tiq & cubs for mod. all experienced, former staff members. staff is quite balanced out, imo, except that larry is the only one active during gmt peak hours. thatll change. and right now, if youve noticed, the current ers we have, greased and driverx, are doing very well for being the only 2 active ers. they host every day it seems. theyve only really affected pub once or twice, otherwise, theyve been pretty much keeping interest in the zone through the evening. applause. i forget what my point was.. and i dont have time to read thru this, gotta go back to work -_-

She was paying for ventrilo to use in KI. TS is free. Don't be a fool, wrap your tool.

its a good plan, until 17th regains its old population and the big old skool squads come back.

cubs: the bot is programmed to setship 2 on all players, and we dont have a bot coder yet. fruity: 2v2 failed because of lack of interest. when 2v2 league was started, the zone was at about the point it is now, and i see no reason to start it up again. jav leagues arent going to help 17th boost population. leagues right now are going to try to include eveyrone. even this duel tournament series does have a rules clause that states that ships 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7 can be used, we just havent put it into effect. perhaps this weekend, jay or I could use that rule. incomplete: i very much agree. in the past, when leagues have failed, it would make the following leagues sound less appealing, and the end result was less participation. however, that is sometimes due to poor coordination. right now, cord and i are jointly coordinating leagues and events (while i coordinate public development and he coordinates staff). i would have liked to hire a good, former league coordinator to take kyla's place, but mike wishes to not hire more sysops at this time. if i can find one willing to work as smod (vegita, etc.), then thatll do. but for now, the only leagues will be smaller leagues as we dont have the population to support the bigger, more known leagues. but its not out of sight, those leagues are still very possible very soon. right now, i am very pleased with how the duel tournament series is going. im going to schedule it for an earlier time for the week 4 matchup so that euro players can participate (im thinking 6pm est, 2 hours earlier than previous schedule).

heres how it goes: right now, the highest population 17th gets is during the hours between 5pm est and 2am est. For Euros, thats 10pm-5am or so, and so they dont get to partake in the main events the zone has. the problem with the european population in 17th is that there isnt much of one. the few that play think its unfair that our events are based on eastern time, but you fail to see that our main population is northamerican. back in the day, it was probably about 1/3 euro and 2/3 american. but now, the euros tend to play dsb and other large zones. if you want events and leagues to be scheduled so that euros can participate without staying up til their late hours, then you need to start bring them online. if i see the population on the charts go up during the daytime hours in my timezone, then we can help you out. we can put some euro hosts and start hosting events earlier to accomodate the euro population. but if theres no pop, i cant scheduel events for the few that show up. if there were so many in the past, bring them back and we can help u. id like to see the zone have a more balanced population, but its not happening right now. i can't do anything about that, only you that live in gmt can do that. and when u do, there WILL be events and such for you. u help me, ill help u.

mike did it first, so i pasted it in here. ban me NOOB! also, at the time, neither of those 2 were staff.
