Unfortunately this game has a lot of horny teenagers playing it who take any kind of conversation with someone claiming to be female as flirtacious behaviour (sometimes it is). When the truth emerges and Nicola becomes Nick (or some other example) i'm certain they'd feel hurt by it in some strange 'male dominance' way even if it is their fault for being stupid. So what i'm saying is: Lies = bad!, People pretending to be female when they're not deserve everything they get.

My point vile was that pub settings still need changing because right now the rest of the ships aren't level with the jav. A new set will be made which will replace everything else like the old (kamikazi weasel) settings which you want to put everywhere. Then you can start doing your standardisation.. You can't do your job unless someone else does theirs. I think everyone would hate to see the pub vs subarena/events divide go even further by making every subarena have different settings to pub. The old settings aren't going to work in pub so its pub that needs to be sorted first then the subarenas.

Its not worth doing it. in my opinion all the subarena settings should stay as they are. some are custom made, others are just old ones that people enjoy BECAUSE THEY'RE OLD.

Roach, what looks better out of these: A 420-38 rec or a 50-0 rec? i would take the first one every time because its less frustrating to get and just looks better because it shows you have true ability rather than "lucky runs". It would help your squad out too which is a + it seems.

JavWar League is back in its original multi-squad format and is open once again for sign-ups. To those who don't know what JWL is: Its a full on Javelin War Game where 8 squads compete against eachother to last the longest and get the most kills in a bid to crush all the other squads. Its the biggest league to ever touch down on 17th Parallel. The arenas are: jwl, jwlpro, jwlama. To sign-up your squad you must send the following details too sever@17thparallel.com : Your subspace-name. Your reachable email address. Your squads name. Your list of squad-members. Yes it is wrong. But its not as wrong as getting less points when the squad you're meant to be playing can't be arsed to show up. This is so obvious that i'm not gonna repeat my owns words and the words of others for the purpose of reinforcing my point of view in this post. End of discussion.

Its a good idea but i don't think it'll catch on because a squad that don't have alot of skill and don't show could be replaced by 4 pros who might easily beat them and cause them to lose a point. I can see alot of complaints if the rule was implemented. Also you'd have to find 4 people who aren't in a squad and they could still be pros posing as innocent noobs.

Also i think if two squads have the exact same points then the ones with more forfeit wins will be placed lower in the standings anyway. But like talion said a squad just needs to get into the playoffs from the regular season so its not that crucial.

Talions right. It shouldn't be possible to lose a league having won all your games just because more of the squads you were playing didn't bother to show up. Lol you could get squads fixing leagues by doing this on the final day of the season. Captain 1: hey could you make sure your squad doesn't show for the match against *top squad* Captain 2: why would i want to do that? Captain 1: Well we will win the league if you do and i'll make it worth your while. Captain 2: How? Captain 1: Well you can join my squad next season and i'll let you bring some of your better members too. Captain 2: Wow i've always wanted to join your elite squad. .. and so on. There would be of course other reasons for squads to throw games but you get the picture i hope.

The only decent ships from the old set were the jav, lanc and the terr when it had 3 repels.

That was my problem with the old spider too. I think it should change more so it just has cloak and no stealth so people have to use the bottom-right radar to spot them coming. As an evener they would get more powerful emp bombs. This would stop it being "lame" and almost unbeatable in confined spaces. Although, burst damage has been weakened instead which is a more subtle change but not as effective in my opinion.
