The thing is it will be much more confusing.... Insert your USB thumb drive in one machine, you get X / 1.024^3 GBs, then insert it in your ubuntu machine, and you have X GBs... And all the files will have different file size than expected. It could almost be an April's Fool. But to be honest, I don't care about Linux -

56kbps... few years ago, most SS players were using this on their PC. SS was made with 28kbps (or maybe even 14k?) modems in mind; a few somewhat-laggy people on their phones wouldn't cause much trouble. If this topic is about science: yay

Suggestion: +Version setting, identifying the version of the .sss itself Also... I don't understand the 'profile' settings ships thingy... My blood is currently flowing with alcohol, but this is still pretty nebulous... And about 'Revisited', can you effectively reorder terr/weasel without any side-effects? Doesn't that require a modified (i.e.: hex-edited) version of subgame.exe ? If we can have a combination of subgame.exe+template.sss that reorders terr/weasel correctly, I don't see why it shouldn't be suggested as default (i.e.: proposed as standard download option) P.S.: God bless 'backspace'

Just noticed the OP was on ASSS... you could get someone's bullets and bombs to show up on other players' screens as lvl4, but the player himself will only see lvl3 bullets. HS does it with the Gigajoule Railgun item. The settings sent to the player tells him 'you got lvl3', but everytime he fires, the server creates a packet that says 'this is a lvl4 bullet' instead, so other players see a lvl4.

Animation speed/length can't be changed. Though some original animations have a couple of blank frames; these could actually be made a bit longer in appearance. Unless it really contributes to the concept, I don't suggest diverting much from the original red/yellow/blue pattern. New players to the zone will have a hard time adapting to the settings if the colors are all mixed up. There is no way to know what level your weapons are, it's annoying lvl4 weapons (which can only appear if you have the ball or flag) can be anything though, especially because there will be no HUD icon for it, you'll just know it's your upgraded lvl3.

Getting on SSC as a host is different than getting a zone on SSC. You just need to find a SSC host to host your zone (so the up connection isn't an issue). You could contact L.C. , he runs SSCV. But your zone should at least have some population to get on SSC.
