  1. Get it now From http://dcme.sscentral.com New beta release available 3.4.0 - 29/09/2008 I'm almost done with all these improvements in DCME. A few things are still left to do, which is why this release is not yet available through auto-update. Basically, the whole process of drawing stuff on the screen is about 2 to 4 times faster. Several details are now properly rendered as well. For example, transparent fly-under tiles are now rendered with transparency, and each LVZ image is on its respective layer. Several other things have been fixed or improved: Ellipses and special shapes are not slow to draw anymore, and are more accurate All known memory leaks are fixed Walltiles now have their own tab in the tileset !@#$%^&*S regions are now handled MUCH faster There are a few minor known glitches in this release, mainly graphic-related, but nothing critical. You should try it out. Please report any anomaly on our forum. -Samapico There are also probably a couple of things I was using to debug that were left there... And I just remembered I didn't remove the tile preview thing, it's still at that ugly spot, half over the tileset's toolbar I also want to see if the new system has any compatibility issues. I'm curious to see if it works on windows 95 or 98... If anyone has that, try stuff involving transparency, and ASSS regions, see what it does It will either be very slow, or simply won't work. There is a chance most of this work on 98 though. But anyway, basically no one is using these OS anymore, according to stats from here and dcme.sscentral.com, so I'm not worried
  2. Well first it should animate if you open it locally, I believe XP's 'Image preview' thing shows animated gifs or drag-drop it in an internet explorer window
  3. I just made the cogwheel much smoother... But I know there are some standards for gear dimensions, to make sure they fit together. Like the internal radius should be X fraction of the contact radius (forgot what that one was called) Anyway... if anyone around here have quick links to these kind of things, would be nice. Cogwheels could be nicer, and most likely be drawn faster too, cause we could draw them with a predictable number of lines, instead of drawing a segment for each fraction of circle
  4. Custom chunks should now work, Region loading is barely noticeable in the loading time, Rock on
  5. I also just got rid of the 'Angle' slider setting for these special shapes... the angle is defined by where you point, and the center of the shape is always where you started to draw it.
  6. Wow... The circle tool is now like 20x faster, PLUS it's always symetrical. Basically, it only draws 1/4 of the ellipse, and mirrors it. Also, it was calculating one line for each 0.025 radian, which is ridiculously overkill, I set that to about 0.1 (PI/30) instead, and that's 6 degrees. So basically the ellipse is made of 60 segments (instead of 240 before). Even with huge ellipses, it looks smooooth and round.
  7. The problem is in the TileText data... Edit -> Edit Tile-text and just hit clear there ya go now if you need to use the TileText again, make sure you clear them before saving (until next release) Public.lvl
  8. I can't provide you with a fixed version of the DCME exe right now, since I'm in the middle of updating lots of stuff... But if you do what I said (starting from the temporarily fixed map I made in the other topic), it should work.
  9. I think you can view them with ScoreMan.exe, not sure about editing... I'm pretty sure there's a tool for it though. And I'm pretty sure the .scr format is known as well. On ssdownloads, I found these 2: http://www.ssdownloads.com/index.php?act=file&fid=952 http://www.ssdownloads.com/index.php?act=file&fid=441 According to one of the descriptions, scoreman actually uses .dat files... so you have to convert scr to/from dat files to modify them through scoreman The other one seems to convert scr to/from a text file If anyone has info on the format, it should go at http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Category:Formats
  10. Progress, progress... Memory leak fixed (finally), most stuff seems to be working Selection edges remain to do, and some other minor display bugs ASSS regions opacity is adjustable (2 different levels, for when Region tool is selected, and for when other tools are selected) With region tool, they also get drawn on top of everything, otherwise they are drawn under tiles. (Thanks Hyperspace for their region-intensive map that allowed me to test ) Also note that this map only takes like 2 or 3 seconds to load, basically as fast as any other map. Some other map with a little bit of everything, notice how the FlyUnder tiles are transparent
  11. You mean never?
  12. Well I was just curious as to why it would shut down, so...

  17. read http://forums.minegoboom.com/viewtopic.php?p=78598#78598 if you don't know what he's talking about
  18. Ok, 2 random dudes popping in non-ss related topics, both from the same region of India... Both using almost no capitalization, and no space after periods, or a space before (wtf). BANT
  19. No, but neural impulses are necessary to conscious thought. So that's why it would be a good guideline.
  20. It's not too late to have kids in your 40's... Here's a theory, I know it's really stupid and all.. but.. Maybe she likes children? Oh wait, no, that's impossible... right? So far, the only possibilities you laid out were: -Contraception failed -She is against contraception so she gets pregnant every time she has sex And her daughter, well, ok most likely she did not 'want' that pregnancy. But once she had it, it doesn't mean she is 'against abortion' if she decided not to. Being pro-choice means you want the choice... Maybe she chose to keep it. I'm not saying I know what her positions are (not that I care), I'm just saying your arguments are lacking a bit of.. humanity.
  21. Because incest does these kind of things: http://www.cinemablend.com/images/news_img/8568/8568.jpg (Wow, I managed to put in 2 Harold & Kumar references in 2 World Discussion topics) Besides, incest pretty much prevents evolution, I'd say... weak genes would be passed on because both parties would have the same. Which also explains, whether it be a myth or not, why incest can lead to malformed children. Basically, under normal cir!@#$%^&*stances, the baby would take stronger genes of both parents, so if one has some weak/weird genes, it's no big deal because they'll be overridden by the other parent's.
  22. You could live for revenge and cut off all the doctors' penises around the world. You'd call yourself Peniscutter, and have a nice suit, and some superhero would have to fight you.
  23. Well, it was a field of apple trees
  24. yes, see http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=21534 for what's going on, and why I can't release any updates before I'm completely done with what I'm working on
  25. uh... sure... So you registered to talk about apples? We get random Chinese spammers, and random ugly kids, but a random Indian apple specialist is a first
