  1. Please consider the possibilities of having this game on a *nix environment. There is a large audience of people waiting for a game like SS. I have dual OS's at the moment, and I'd rather just run SuSE =)
  2. When we load a tileset, could you prompt us if the tileset contains characters? Then allow us to assign a key (on our keyboard of course =)) to that tile? For example, if I had a tileset with tiles that had tiles from a-z, that when I loaded the tileset I was prompted if I wanted to set hotkeys to specific tiles. Then either one could ALT - KEY or switch to a 'text' mode that didn't require alt to be held down to lay out the tile. I don't know how to word this, exactly
  3. Constant updates don't necessarily mean that the build is unstable, it simply means that there is no practical reason to put it on SSDL.com I have another suggestion: When you're doing tilework, it's annoying to have to select the erase tool all the time! Have an option so we could draw with one mouse button, and erase with the other! Add a small icon near the tile tray that represents the eraser. Great program!
  4. I have a Continuum/dev/ folder, I'm very picky about where things go But I just suggested that C:/Program FIles/Continuum/ was prefilled in, still requiring the person to hit 'OK', and still giving them the option to change it. So whatever
  5. Run the usual antispyware (Lavasoft Adaware, MSAS, emisoft a^2, Spybot), antivirus programs (if you don't have one, AntiVir is free, you can also get a 12month trial from eTrust, which I use). Post a HijackThis log after you're done. If you actually look at it, they're not too complicated.
  6. I usually host games (our flagging league, EGFL, was a great opportunity to do this) on EGRadio, and recording them, I've found two ways that work, each with its flaws. The first method is to use Fraps - the flaw being you need a superfast processor and a gem of a graphics card to get a decent framerate at 800x600. I'm running at 3.1GHz/nVidia Geforce FX 5200 128MB, and I get a framerate of just under 15 when I record. The second method is more complicated, but the quality is amazing. If you have an S-Video out, either record to DVD or VHS (then convert to digital), and transfer to your PC. The downfall here is that while the resolution can be amazing(both in size and quality), the file size is huge (relative to the Fraps recordings, which are also very large at decent resolutions). I recorded about 20 minutes of footage and it was 3GB. Hope this sheds some light.
  7. Great editor, been having some fun times with it. I think the fact that it's standalone is great, but here's my suggestion: When you run the program for the first time, you should have a prompt to specify where Continuum has been installed, so every time you open someting, you're already in your /Continuum/ folder. I would have C:/Program Files/Continuum/ pre-filled in, so most people can just hit 'ok'; then in an options menu, provide the option to change the default 'Open' folder. Thanks for the great program!
  8. By football - American? (your location says Cali, so I'm !@#$%^&*uming you're not talking about soccer).
  9. I wouldn't worry about MG though, noone sane plays there anyhow ^^.
  10. Hey pyxlz, I'd love to assist you in several ways. Drop me an e-mail (glassprison@obitrate.com) - I could assist in graphics, and I have some mean ideas. I also can give you webspace.
  11. That would be rad, would you just have to have the tileset read differently so that a certain tile has that different bounce, or would you have to make it so that tile x,y has the different bounce?
  12. sure, how does it work? I was just wondering, would it be possible to make a set '45 degree' tile? I'll try to explain: _____ \x __ \_________ \ \____________ The tile marked 'x', instead of propelling one backwars when hit straight on, would propel you at a 45 degree angle. This would give us a feel that diagonals could exist in a map - true diagonals.
