  1. Oh the hilarity.
  2. I've seen 2255 show up on EGs ban forum recently with a bunch of different people. You are most likely caught under someone elses netban. The best thing to do is ti fill out the bang ticket and try to get ahold of some staff member in some zone that is nice and can talk to the right people. In the mean time, you can ask zones to give you a banfree until it is resolved (which may be the only way it will get resolved anyway).
  3. XP / Linux (Suse atm) 1152 x 864 GMT - 6 1024 MB AMD And there are worse things about Vista than driver problems. Things that aren't bugs.
  4. First of all, the US has a Representative Democracy or Republic, not a Democracy. So stop trying to make arguments based on a pure Democracy. There is a difference. Second, you cannot really compare the success of gun control laws in other countries to how they would work in the US without looking at the the cir!@#$%^&*stances of the country. I have seen mention of how effective gun control laws are in the UK and Australia, but those countries don't exactly have the makeup of the US. People are looking at the effect guns have, but not the cause of why they are used. There is a lot of racial tension and territorial tension in the US. I don't think (no proff on this however) that those exist, or at least not to the extent they do in the US. I mean look at the Imes firing. It is completely bogus, but happened because of racial tension. There are pockets all of the US where gangs and groups are against other gangs and group. I'm sure there is much more to it. I have never put much research into it. New gun control laws are not going to fix the cause of gun use. All it would do is clog the already clogged legal system. Laslty, for those thinking of joining, good luck to you. I know plenty of people who have gone through the system and come out fine. You just want to make sure you know what you are getting into.
  5. Do you still have those empty folders? The names of those would be nice too, might even help figure out some past zone hosts. Sorry I got sidetracked and forgot about this topic. All the folders I have that mention dbz or db gt are (I thought I had more, had a HD failure awhile back so it's not as complete anymore): SFSS DragonBall Z 2D (SSC) SSCI Dragonball Z SSCU Dragonball Z SSWC Dragonball Z T3 DragonBall GT (ExS) Also, all I can say is good luck talking to GD.
  6. Now known as the Playstation. I don't know what Playstation you have, but mine never had a cartridge slot Interesting article. Skimmed over most of it. Does kinda suck how it has ended for him.
  7. Don't know if any of these will be helpful, but attached what I had in folders in a zip file. Had a bunch of other dbz folders but they were empty =( In the zips it has to folder name that says what host it was on and such. Hope it's of some use at least.
  8. But there are murders all over the world every day. M!@#$%^&* murders? Well that depends on the definition, but murder is still murder. Also, I am curious as to what you mean by "by your logic." What logic are you addressing? It doesn't take some mental disorder to cause someone to snap, though it will lead to them snapping easier. Some people are just disturbed. I don't know if you can call that a mental disorder. Maybe it is. Sever put it very well comparing it to killing lovers in rage. Maybe looking it at now, yes the police could have handled it better. But if you read their reports of chosen actions, what information did they have that would have lead them to act otherwise? When some guy robs a store and shoots someone, do they lock down the entire city? How often does someone go on a m!@#$%^&* killing spree? Pointing blame is not going to make it better. Making it illegal to carry a gun is not going to prevent this. If someone has snapped enough, they will think of a way to get one or make something viable to complete their goal. Yes, it will make it harder and may prevent deaths. But lets look how well making certain drugs illegal has worked so far.
  9. I know, hence the I placed at the end of the first line. It was a joke. I don't think you would actually do that to peoples bans. However, I do think your at!@#$%^&*ude would shine through in your replies to people whether you believe it or not. Unless all your posts that rag on the zones and people who play them and all your posts how Infantry is a superior game to SS are 100% jokingly done, it is not so easy to hide that at!@#$%^&*ude. Maybe they were all jokes. I don't know you well enough to know. I am just basing this off how you have presented yourself here and on EG forums. As for the rest of your post, I prety much agree with you. Though, I am not so sure what you mean by local matters. Professionalism is all well and good, but there is more to customer service than just professionalism. As I said at the end of my first post, the person for the job has to actually care about the game(your place of work) and be sympathetic to the players(the customers) as netbans are not perfect. People get caught in them. It can take real consideration and work to determine if their claim is real or not. And I am not so sure you care about the game or are sympatheic to others to a point where you actually want to help people. Maybe you are.
  10. unbiased? pshhha. as soon as you'd see that the person plays in a non SVS zone, you'd just say ban stands! And even if you were professional enough to not do that to people, as Polix said I doubt the average player could handle the at!@#$%^&*ude that you have as has been presented all the time on the forum. A person in that position needs to actually care about the game (SS, not infantry) and be sympathetic to the players.
  11. from what i know, it is 21... It all depends on what state you are in and what form of gambling you are doing. There are often different age restrictions for doing lottery tickets than casinos and slot machines.
  12. Do they have a 56k phone line modem on the machine? They should be able to connect using the phone line if they do.
  13. That is a bugger. I just found and plugged in my Logitech usb dual action controller. No drivers installed cause this is a fresh copy of windows XP (curses HD failure). I am curious what gamepad you are using and if it's usb or not. edit: it appears you already stated it was a Logitech Dual Action controller. That is what I am using. Looks a lot like a ps2 controller. Anyway, when you say nothing you do now can get Continuum to see the buttons. I know I already asked this before, but I just wanna make for sure we are on the same page. But if you have that checkbox checked, and then click on a def box and press the gamepad button, nothing happens? So you don't see it add the keys at all? I had to make sure the Joystic/Gamepad button was checked in order to get it to recognize anything. This attachment is a just in case the above is working for you, you need to make sure you select the definitions for your profile to use it in game.
  14. Curious about some information for clarity (even with it no guarantee i can help). When you say you have the option enabled, you are talking about the option under View -> keyboard/Controller Defs correct? And after that is so if you try to define controls for the gamepad it just doesn't recognize it there? I haven't tried to get a gamepad to work, but I have one laying around somewhere and I'll see if I can get it to work sometime tomorrow. Others may be able to help though too.
  15. Sorry, it wasn't in your link, it was in the link that a bug zapper listed (which is in post #6. And it was quotation mark, not question mark. It says 2008 because his picture is taken from post #6, which is where a bug zapper lists the end date of the ban.
  16. It works if you go to http://bang.sscbilling.net/ Your link had a quotation mark in it.
  17. well put it back. it's important!
  18. Couldn't tell for sure, but it looks like both of those have to run within the OS. He can't even run anything in Windows with it plugged in.
  19. I think that depends on the motherboard, don't quote me on this. but you might google the board. It could also be that the board doesn't like that brand of ram, but you'd realy needto know the brand of it for sure ;x

How many non-ssc zones know you exist or that they can get help from you? They can't just magically find you. This place isn't really public knowledge to most players. (by you I mean sscentral/ssforum) Maybe you personally don't need to go ask them if they need help. But that doesn't mean someone else wouldn't want to. You are right, many non-ssc zones pop up and leave, but that doesn't mean some wouldn't stick around if given support. If you really wan't this site to be a central for SS, then something should be actively done to include those non-ssc zones. If they say they don't want it, then that's up to them. But you can't say them not asking for help is the same thing when they may not even know help is available.
  22. Happy Birthday
  23. I'm curious to where it was mentioned that it would be done "over the weekend." It certaintly isn't in the post by Ghost Ship here. Is there some other post I am missing? Maybe it was edited out or something. But I don't remember anything mentioning "over the weekend" type of time frame. Just that he agreed to work on it. And really, if he was going to do any meaningful changes, I image it would take more than a weekend to implement and actually test them.

    Blackhole

SVS was saying that black holes could be a worst case side effect of something going wrong in the experiment.

    rant

I woudln't say it is boring by todays standards. I would say it isn't visually appealing enough. Beyond the graphics, most games today are as boring as ever, if not more so.
