uh oh... "Coenny" plus "more active" can't equal something good anyways, welcome back!
  2. well it's otherwise okay, but there're 2 major problems: 1. people who want to go on a private freq (not to flag), such as to rec, or to just screw around or do otherwise would be less likely to make a private freq because they'd have to keep asking the staff. 2. yes, we handled the bots fairly well, but the zone was in chaos whenever the bots were down and none of the staff were online. If this happened with private freqs, the 1337 players who want a private freq would be screwed, stuck on a public freq with people selling flags, giving away base locations, etc..
  3. can't we all just get along? we should have the freq settings as they are: the maximum player-changable freq is 999. If anyone wants a non-hoppable private freq, they can ask someone in the staff to set them to freq 1000 or above. This way, private freqs will still be quite common, but the 1337 freqs won't have as many hoppers. I don't really think a special squad freq is necessary. Edit: this just occured to me, although I'm not sure if it's possible to do. Edit the freqowners module so that whenever anyone wants to join a private freq, a message will appear to the freqowner(s) saying, "Player X wants to join this freq. Let him in? yes or no." If any of the freqowner(s) say yes, then that player is let onto the freq. or... modify ?freqkick to "ban" someone off of that freq. Currently, if you just ?freqkick a hopper an unwanted n00b, he will repeatedly come back onto the freq. The ban will dissolve when everyone leaves the freq.
  4. hmm now that you mention it, it might be better idea to join... an alias will stay with bumped
  5. noooooooo!!! neva!!!!
  6. I was saying, in a dire situation, you could just *super your squadmates, but then I realized it's neither an ASSS or smod command
  7. ...err... nevermind about that
  8. he meant that initial money in an account should be increased. e.g. instead of starting with $1,000, newbies could start with $25,000 (as long as you have to have 25K in your account to give money, it could work out well). As it is, $1,000 can't really buy anything, and $25,000 will be more flexible to test out different ship components and such (and it'll keep newbies who can't get any fast money from being discouraged)
  9. noooooooo I'll stay on bumped
  10. I agree, I don't think we should really suggest anything for the settings, since completely new ones are being developed. Weapons and upgrades are also hard to comment one, as a very different system is also in development. In the meantime while we wait for HS to come online, we should concentrate our efforts to bash Wargh and Dav. hehe just kidding
  11. I simply said as a general suggestion, it may be better to have faster bombs, but smaller prox. radii. It's a basic trend I had in mind, though I can't really say anything until the new settings come out. Halving the radius of current prox. bombs is quite reasonable though. btw, I think he meant shrapnel spray, instead of sharp spay
  12. exactly. a lot of people are in maxed javs with blue bombs, kill inferior ships, start thinking they're really good, and then get dismayed when they lose to red bombs as a general suggestion, it might be better to have smaller prox. radii (to the point that the prox. radius for a level 1 bomb is almost non-existent), but have bomb velocities be slightly faster to compensate. this may be a little more fair since it'll take more skill to shoot bombs that require more precision, and at the same time, be harder to dodge, since they're faster moving. also, m!@#$%^&*-killing (shooting random bombs into a crowd of people) will be less effective, since without such a large prox. radius they will miss much more often.
  13. lol, I've actually gotten a 5 patty (though they weren't all full-sized) at Wendy's before. I ordered a triple cheeseburger at about 2:00 AM, so I guess they just decided to give me all their left-over patties, since it was so late anyways. When they gave it to me, I was like "hmmm the bag seems heavier than usual", and then when I took out the burger, the wrapper was shaped like a sphere, not the usual burger shape; the burger alone weighed somewhere from 1 to 3 pounds. So then I bit into it, and I looked and saw that there were 5 patties mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... (I didn't go to sleep until about 5:00 AM that day because I was so full and bloated )

    ahhh, another phantom guest

    Hey

    lol, hey
  16. I think it's capacity to have prox. (i.e. it is possible to adjust whether a player. can have prox. or not, but it may be impossible to adjust the prox. radius individually between players )
  17. of course it is. My old avatar was my ferret when she was a 6 month kit (ferret babies are called kits). My current one is an updated picture of my ferret at a year and a half of age.
  18. ...only during vacations...winter vacation...
  19. yeah' date=' prizing would be the only adjustment on a player-to-player basis I can think of For example, without ASSS, every weasel has the same ROF, EMP, same number of maximum mines, etc. I was just wondering if ASSS allows changing those specific fields per player. So Player A can have a weasel with a huge prox. radius while Player B has a weasel with bombs that zip across the screen in a second (crazy weapon ideas [img']http://www.ssforum.net/public/style_emoticons/default/blum.gif[/img] ). I have some crazy ideas for new weapons, but I'm just wondering how customizable things will be to see if they're possible or not.
  20. actually, I've already made the shipset. Now if I can just get an arena to put it in
  21. ...we have to do something while Hyperspace is down
  22. yeah, giving the capship have boucning bombs is an idea. Currently, it's still vital for flagging since it serves as an anchor, and actual fighting strength doesn't affect its usefulness very much. Completely new ship settings unrelated to the current ones are underway, though, so as of now, we shouldn't post about such changes regarding current ship settings. I think we should wait for Hyperspace to come back up, and after testing out the new settings, judge on that.
  23. making the powerball increase gun and bomb levels, if anything, will make a ship weaker, since such guns are less energy efficient. Regardless, making the powerball a "kill" tool is bad. It should be actually used for scoring.
