Powerball doesn't have 100 people. (i bet you can guess it's population, i'll give a hint its more than 2 but less than 4, and then subtract 1 bot) Chaos doesn't have 104 people. It has 23 at the moment. Nothing has stopped. I don't even know what NR is going on about. That EG and Trench have almost accurate populations. Doesn't mean it's accurate. trench wars has 95 people. Their population displays as 128. (They are off the bug? but display bots, unless there is 30+ people in private arenas) Extreme games has 55 people and 10-20 bots, their population displays as 115 (what a joke) DSB isn't even exploiting the bug, and their zone has a constant population of 20. Even at 4am at night. I'm sure. Hyperspace should stay at 1000.

But it's practically impossible to fill up an e-mail address these days, when e-mails are 1KB, and the e-mail gets Gigabytes of storage. He probably blocked you. Even if they fix pop stats, it will still count bots, so its still worthless. No one really cares how many bots are in a zone. Hockey zone is probably the only close to accurate zone in displaying Population. When there is 50 people in HZ there actually is 50 people.

Whining about Lame game play, and asking mods to moderate it.. TLDR VERSION If it wasn't supposed to be allowed it would somehow be limited in settings (ie 60 seconds between firing a thor), or by a bot. That's what bots are for, they are essentially referees, and you can have game play pretty much play out any way you want with a good bot. DSB had a similiar problem. The deathstar had bombing lines and some idiots whined about it on forums saying it's abuse or it's lame, because they would die or wouldn't die, or because it made the game less fun for some people. But in the end any aspect of gameplay can become lame. Less skill, less risks, more lame. What people need to understand is that Lame is not bad. Lame is good for a zone. It actually attracts more players, and conflict or competition isn't necessarily bad either as long as its within the game play and rules. Lame will not only attract more players, it will attract new players. Since most lame tactics are also things noobs would do to get kills easily. This allows people to compete in an elitist environment. Beyond this, a zone shouldn't be about restrictions or policing people. It's up to people how they want to play the game. Who are you to dictate the way i should get kills or fly my ship? If you want to do that you'll find in a few years your zone will fail even FASTER than it should, (according to decline in ss) like DSB eventually did. If i can enter EG and kill people as they escape the NKZ, then you just offered about 20-30 people a new way to play the game. If you take that away, you potentially lose 20-30 people who liked to play the game that way. Similarly if you take away the bases in EG, you lose people who like to base. And if you take away bombs in EG, you lose people who like to bomb. And so on. TSDR VERSION grow up.

(8x12) pixels, is there some way to get 12x12? Anything bigger than 8x12 won't load in continuum, as far as i know.

You'll lose a bunch of players who don't have a facebook account, or don't want to use facebook ever. Some websites while using facebook, or google as logins, also let you create an account independent of facebook or Google. Can't think of any examples right now but there have been a few i've come across. I don't really agree with facebooks privacy policy, or how you have to bow to them to use their service. Also too many people especially girls check facebook 100 times a day even at work, which is semi retarded. Not to be so negative, it's not directed to you, but to facebook and google. It's a great thing you've done of course. Plus id prefer random strangers online in a game, don't have access to my whole life when im playing. Then they can message my friends if i had any and become stalkers. And you might argue just make a subspace facebook account. But that seems to be the problem, facebook only wants you to have one account (as per their dumb policy), and they sometimes double check on you by asking for your cell phone number. As if everyone has a cell phone, and as if my phone number should be within the realm of their knowledge. If this was somehow made to bring facebook players to play the real continuum using the client, it would be nice. But as a seperate entity it doesn't really help anyone but yourself and facebook. Either players from facebook come to continuum client, or people on the client go to the facebook subspace. There is no support for each other really. And this isn't connected to the SSC biller right?

All those chats belong except the staff chat.. no games i ever played had a fixed default chat for staff.. if you can still create chats, that's all you need if staff wants a chat. Otherwise anything staff would say would be shown in Zone chat through announcements. It seems a bit self centered otherwise.. staff should be in the background not even noticed. if i misunderstood something, then forgive me.

Who wants some company to dictate the options you need. No freedom of choice. Same with google, facebook, and every other company. Windows 7 was bad enough, hiding the admin account, setting options in power settings without asking you. Now they force you to use their desktop in windows 8, and no option to boot with the desktop you prefer? This is why im deleting anything associated with google, facebook, youtube etc, they all do the same thing. I don't need their services, they seem to think people can't live without them.

Oh and this is a laptop.. was going to say take out the ram and put it back in. A computer is just an OS, i'll let you poke in my computer.. anything private is on external drives that i can just shut off. lol

It shouldn't really reduce credibility because someone posted on forums. Credible or not credible comes from logs and screenshots. If they are an idiot or not comes from if they post on forums, and what you think of them. Really shouldn't tie into credibility unless your prejudging someone before seeing the evidence. Sorry for the TLDR just skip if you don't care. As a totally unrelated opinion to this event. I just wanted to express my views on banning for the traditional spam. (like when you type something over and over to a person) Most people never define what spam actually is, and just leave it to the mods opinion on a case by case basis. It's not really good to have one mod ignore one thing you do because their idea of spam is different, and another mod ban you for the same thing. So spam in my opinion is anything repetative, that is repeated within 60 second intervals. So if i repeat the same sentence twice within 1 minute, its pretty much spam. If its a different sentence it's not spam. If i repeat the same sentence twice within 2 minutes, it's not spam. As well traditionally most kill macros are accepted, and they are repetative, and repeated within fast intervals. But there is a meaning behind them and so it's not spam. (traditionally) - some zones don't allow kill macros My definition of spam actually is based on the dictionary. Also i feel its necessary, because if someone doesn't like what you are talking about, they can just deem it spam, and ban you. It's not spam just because no one wants to read what you are saying. And they can easily ?ignore you if it matters. And of course evading ignores is wrong. Not because you evaded an ignore. You don't get banned for switching names or evading ignores. You get banned for harassment. So be clear on that. Edit i know i don't play HS, so i hope no one gets offended that im posting here. I don't play ss all too often anymore.

Well most people won't know how to fix it, all we could do is make you do the routine stuff. Or suggest what the problem might be. But the only person who knows their computer best is you. It's hard to troubleshoot over a phone, or if your not directly in front of the persons computer, and troubleshooting, usually involves asking lots of questions, and giving lots of information. At least for me. I'm not sure if you'll get your solution here. We can try LOGmein which would connect our computers. It's generally safe, it's based on passwords, and you need a new password everytime you open the program. So basically you give me the password you generated, and then i can connect to your PC, and try and see if i see anything that could be causing the conflict. It is a legitimate program, and it's easy to get someone offline if you don't want them on anymore, by shutting off the computer. Then they can't login again without a new pass that you would need to generate and give to them. But if we did this, it's a good idea to back up any files, delete anything you don't want another person to see. And clear browser history. Also in troubleshooting, the routine is to ask people to reinstall many drivers, and update anything out of date. As well as ensure the PC has no malware or viruses. As well as to run diagnostics on your major hardware. Of course many people will say it can't be hardware, or it cant be audio driver or something. But really we don't know, because we aren't using the computer everyday. Things you install can conflict, or something can happen over time. Stuff from the internet, windows updates, etc etc. That's why an accurate History is needed in Diagnosing patients.. I think it kind of applies to computers too =p I doubt me or anyone else here could solve the problem, but im willing to see what i can find.

Okay, and other games work? Try some other full screen games if you didn't already. I'll assume pushing TAB key when your not in any games doesn't crash the computer ? lol just have to ask.

That's a wierd bug. What do you mean by crashes your computer? Do you get a blue screen? Does the computer shut down? Does everything freeze with continuum still in full screen? Does the screen go black? Does everything freeze but continuum closes? Does continuum itself just crash but the computer runs fine? Does the computer become unresponsive but ALT CTRL DEL, and closing an application wake it up? Does everything freeze and ALT CTRL DEL won't even work, and you need to shut down the computer by pushing the off button? If you do have a blue screen, we'll need the message it gives you. You should also re-install continuum, and see if the bug persists.

Need to stop banning people for things like spam, or 'we don't like you' Subspace wasn't meant to be a tree house.. when someone spams chat if it bothers me i ignore them. Why do you guys get off on banning. Are you insecure? or what? I even got spammed during a league game. We have the option to report the person and ban them for life from league. I didn't like the guy who was spamming me. I just typed ?chat=0. Seriously it's just text. It's not so horrible... grow up.

Making a thread to mock someone isn't very noble either. And i'll defend anyone banned for stupid reasons. My personal opinion of them doesn't matter.

Most of us are in our 20's now anyway, or even 30's. Well priitk is the only one who can fix the dll. So the only options are to force all the zones to disable the merge or be taken offline. And then let them know they can merge once they fix the dll, or Priitk does. And a real question, because i don't know the answer. When was the last time that it happened someone new on staff banned the whole zone? I hear people mention it all the time, i don't see it happen. I've seen original staff banning a whole zone. The whole MG incident (although i don't know the details) wasn't that involving original staff? It wasn't some new guy who asked for a chance to fix things? True i've seen people recently hired, abuse powers and ban one or two people they don't like. (not a whole zone) But in that case, it's not too painful to unban the people, and remove the abusers powers. Now you have actual evidence the 20 year old will act like a 13 year old, and not just speculation or personal opinion.

This is true, in the case of a healthy zone like Trench Wars, or zones that maintain their population. You don't want people to screw up something good. Never. But in other circumstances, when everything you are doing, or not doing, is making a zone worse..(especially if your not doing anything) It's time to let the next guy try something.. because either way the zone is dead, so whats the harm in trusting someone else?

This happens to also be the problem of most zones. The sysops, zone owners, and staff don't have time. And yet hold up the development of their respective zones, just to hold on to a title. Rather than do what's best for the community instead of whats best for themselves. Even if the focus should be a new client, does that mean Polix, yourself or anyone else who can contribute to a new client, will suddenly start helping Richard Betson with his client? Or the Jabjabjab with the Java client? I think Dev on the new clients will proceed the way it always has. One man doing everything, and taking breaks in between dragging it out for years. Which leaves the rest of us with enough time to waste doing something else. There is rarely any team work here. By the way would a new client still have Subgame or ASSS? There are still zones using subgame. Also if all four or five clients are completed at the same time. How will we decide which one to use? which one is the best etc? The one most radically not like Continuum, or the one like Continuum - that gives more functionality, options, security and customization? I would prefer the latter. Because if we wanted to play Cosmic Rift we would have all switched clients by now. Not to mention some clients started development before others. So the newer ones won't be as out of date as the older ones. Kind of like programming a game in 2000, and releasing it in 2012. I think Duke Nukem, DarkFall and some other games are guilty of this.

I've had screen lag before while having high FPS. but i can't remember what caused it.. If there ever are any solved cases they should be written up as solved, so in the future when someone has a problem there is some documentation to fall back on. Sadly when i fixed my problem i never told anyone how i did it...

DSB has been involved in the merge, and it didn't help their zone even by 1%. Their zone maintains its 20-30 player population. They have got no players from EG or elsewhere. Really it's not justified to do something wrong, because you have the intention for a good outcome. In this case the intentions didn't even pull through. DSB is still dying. And im not sure the connectivity between the other zones involved has done much for them either. Also DSB doesn't lie about it's population, other than displaying/including bots. Just because zones always lied about population doesn't mean it should continue if we can fix it. I think most people would prefer an accurate population display, and the exemption of bots from that display.

Yeah i suspected 60 FPS would be fine. Maybe the only reason he notices is when he goes from 150 to 60. Since it's a big gap. I figured you would need 30 FPS or less to have problems. Which means if the monitor is displaying FPS lag (ie, skipping) When there is no actual FPS lag, it's still the graphic card or driver.

I'm not sure how low FPS has to drop for you to experience anything. Maybe Samapico knows. But my FPS is 380 to 430. So probably 60 is bad. Still points to graphic card or driver or maybe ram if something else is hogging resources.. =/ Are any other games slow? How many processes are running in the Alt+Ctrl+Del window. (Task Manager) I've got 76 processes, with Physical memory at 38%

Hockey zone is dead sometimes, but people want to play it. I would say the same of Devastation, which occasionally can get 20 people but will be dead most of the time. As well i know there are many people who enjoyed 17th parallel. So there are a few zones which people want to play but don't for some reason. Either because the population is not there. Or the staff let them down somehow in the past and the zone never recovered. Merging zones that died is worth trying. Merging zones that were always dead. Probably not. Merging healthy zones, will probably ruin the zone.
