  1. This idea will do absolutely nothing. It's a bad attempt at trying to make it look like Chaos Pub has a lot of players. What happens is people see a large population before logging in, they get into Chaos Pub and see 8 players, hit esc+a to see the arena list to find out where all the players are, see a lot of players in EG or Powerball and then go there. The thought that at least it brings people into Chaos Pub initially that might stay and play is a foolish thought. I'm sure this idea doesn't hurt anything, but it certainly won't help.
  2. Why didn't you keep BlueBomb? Oh that's right, you quit and said you would never play again.
  3. Captain Fag wants everything handed to him. Typical loser Chaos player, give me, give me, give me. And how fucking often does the mailman knock on your door? What an idiot.
  4. Go to the top right corner and click on your name. Then click on "Manage Ignored Users". Then put my name in the "Member's name" form field. Then click on "Save changes". I will warn you, however, your ideas will still suck whether you see my reply or not.
  5. How about perma super power and shields as long as you want everything else handed to you?
  6. Wow, a subarena, you are on top of things.
  7. That was the ship changes from 1998 to 2003 (likely by 2002, and maybe by 2001). Let me make this clear: Ship settings have not changed since 2003 -- those are the same ship settings that people have been playing for almost 10 years and are playing today. I think it illustrative that the settings have not changed and yet certain people jump to all kinds of wild conclusions about all the "terrible" changes to those settings when the fact is those settings have not changed in in close to 10 yrs. --hallu What about the changes made to ship settings to make them match league settings? Are those the same as 2011 settings and 2003 settings?
  8. League is league and pub is pub, they should not be the same.
  9. Seems like everyone is, and has been, saying this and I agree as well, 1998 settings with dynamic greens and no bonuses. I wonder when someone will listen?
  10. Horrific settings and you wonder why no one plays. Amazingly bad decision. Concentrating the greens in one small area and then giving a ship with the flag a weapons upgrade is so unbalanced it's not funny. A low bounty ship has to stay in the center to get greens but there are players with high bounty and weapons upgrades there to pounce on you. If you try to get away all you do is fly into black space and have no opportunity to green your ship unless you come back into the little area with greens. I don't mind having only a few green, but they need to be spread out. Also, the league settings suck and I really find it amazing that hallu finally bent over for the league players.I suggest you put in the 1998 SVS settings that just about everyone liked and stop trying to fiddle with things. The makers of this game knew what they were doing, and so far any sysop that has come along and tried to change things "for the better" has failed.
  11. Hallu, since you don't like to tell players about setting changes and refuse to answer questions in game I thought I would bring up the topic here so others could contribute...why is it that now when the population is low that all of the greens are concentrated in one small area? Where was the news.txt file to let players know of this change? Where is the forum post asking the players if they would want this type of change? Your unilateral changes to the game settings are less than desirable. hallucination> ethy, your assertion that the zone sysops need your permission to test settings is absurd on the face of it. We'll announce any perm changes. It's obvious that settings are being tested now -- duh? Man, this made me laugh. I never said you had to ask me or anyone else permission, all I said was tell the players what is going on and why, that's different than permission. And, waiting for players to notice changes is bad too, btw.
  12. It's clear that the retail settings of Subspace are the best settings to have in the game. The current 2011 settings are terrible, I think I was repped 7 times in less than 2 minutes by one player and the full charge greens are everywhere. Put the 1998 settings in for good and stop ruining the game by have these terrible 2011 settings. All I hear are good things about 1998 SVS settings, why ignore such an obvious desire of the players?
  13. These are the only settings to have in the game. It makes the playing field much more balanced. This change back to 1998 hasn't hurt the population at all, except for one or two players that have found that the real settings don't give them the lame ass advantage they have in the 2011 settings, but who needs them. With the 1998 settings you have to actaully play the game the way it was intended and not handed a free ride like you get in the 2011 settings. Most people like the 1998 settings and I vote to keep them, all I hear are positive comments.
  14. You guys need to write less. I can't read that much nonsense at one time.
  15. It's funny to watch Gad cry when he doesn't get his way. Endless amusement.
  16. Close bomb EMPs freezing your own energy. Oh, and you could kill yourself in SubSpace via closebombs. (still works in the tutorial v 1.34 IIRC) Did you make up your mind on where you stand on bonuses yet? "Hunters" being able to !bonus speed was a horrible thing for you a few threads ago. Now not having bonuses hurts turrets? What? Gad wants whatever favors him. He wants to be lame but heaven forbid anyone else can be. This is why no bonuses is a good thing, hunters don't have them and niether do turrets, I don't see any inequality here. Bonuses are a terrible idea. One of the main objectives of the zone is to use your weapons wisely, if you don't you will most likely die. Being able to acquire weapons (!bonus booster) at will is not even close to what the game is supposed to be like. If you want things like they were in the old days then you shouldn't want bonuses.
  17. Someone has his panties in a bunch because he can't be lame and use endless bursts and thors (!bonus booster). Gad show us how good you are and play the game without constantly using a bonus. But I am gathering from your posts you can't do it. How about just try playing? You are more useless than ever.
  18. I never said he was doing nothing, I said he has been making changes that no one knows about, and that's a bad thing.
  19. People that don't play in the zone should not get a vote regardless if they are a zone sysop or not. In fact, it makes it even worse that a zone sysop doesn't play in the very zone they are a staff member. In a game where staff are looking for more players you would think that all staff members would actually play, seems odd when they don't or maybe in this case can't play the game.
  20. You might try rereading this comment you responded to over two weeks ago: http://forums.ssgn.n...post__p__273547 --hallu You know as well as I that not everyone reads the forums and that changes should be discussed before they are put into place. You were the one that told me this was your philosophy ("lots of discussion before any changes were made"). Thats a good philosophy. But if people arent participating, then how long should the discussion last ? Endless talk doesnt help anything to get done either ...... There was zero discussion on the topic of mines. It was only posted on the forums because I asked Hallu directly why the mine timer was changed. There was not much, if any, discussion in game except when I asked, and although I messaged Hallu he never answered me, the answer came from Nude for Satan (although I suspect it came from Hallu and through Nudes typing) and the intitial excuse was that the new flag game (which had weapons upgrades) at the time was the reason for changing the timer, but as we are seeing now it is really because Hallu thinks mine repping is driving away new players. But Hallu never intitiated this topic with the players, it just happened and it wasn't until pressed did he finally say why the mine timer was actaully changed. Personally I think mine repping is part of the game and is not even close to the reason why new players don't stay in Chaos Zone.

  22. Another issue why do mines only last 60 seconds now? Didn't you get the memo about the mine timer or read the news.txt file as to why the timer was reduced? Oh, wait, none of us go that memo, nevermind.
  23. Two players! Our problems are solved!
  24. That's not remotely what I said. You said: I replied: --hallu Hallu, what is your opintion on a three man turret when there are 6 people in the zone? Do you think it drives players away? What do you think about newbies joining the zone and being owned by a three man turret when they are on a freq by themselves. Mind you, i am talking about turrets during times of low populations only.
