Norton also does a firewall and some spyware (as well as some "dubious" txt files) are detected and removed by anti-viral programs. Unfortunately Norton isn't as up to date as it used to be and it causes all manner of strange bugs and conflicts. WindowsXP's firewall is dowright dangerous because it isn't enabled by default, creates a false sense of security when it IS enabled and is targetted for cir-*BAD WORD*-version by a large number of malicious programs.
