Actually, there are three hirearchies within Hyperspace. I'm the head of two, and share ownership with picano. There is the moderation team, with the moderators, the smod, and me. There is the dev team, with picano, sai, unnamed others, and me. Then there are the owners. That would be picano and me. This decision came from the ownership branch. Mods had nothing to do with it.

Official max was 54 with the 7ish bots. Actual max was 57.

Last time we changed servers was from SSCI to SSCX. As I recall, this was from late December to mid Febuary. We moved from SSCI because when they aquired their shiny new Windows 2003 machines, ASSS would no longer run.

No one has studied the population of hyperspace like I have. I know what I'm talking about. This is not to put you off, but most people seem to think it was the settings that caused the drop, and they delude themselves that everything was perfect before. Quite frankly, I put in the setting changes as a last ditch effort to save the zone. Obviously, it didn't completely save the zone BUT IT DID HELP. There are a mul-*BAD WORD*-ude of reasons why the population declined to the point where these drastic measures were required, but the settings changes were not a major part of them.

We never got 60 players at any point, ever.

If you look at the pop graphs of that time period, you will notice that the setting changes boosted population growth--for a time. But that short boost wasn't enough.

The population was declining for months before the setting change.

Hyperspace is closed for renovations. You can still hang out in spec here, but all the playable arenas have been removed so that the Dev team and I can work on what we need to to get this zone back to a fun place to be.

Yah, that's what I was afraid of.

I can make a fairly good looking website without a whole lot of trouble. My issue is putting the content in. I'm not that great at writing in general, so it would take me a long time to do it, and no one else seems competent.

Yah, I'm not looking for one that says "this is teh hyperpsace website!!! we r da bom!!!111"

Because no one can do it except me, and I'd rather put my energy into something else for the zone.
