  1. You should include OpenAL32.dll. The program crashed at the attached error screen, I didn't get it to work.
  2. Trained, there are a few programs on the internet that can detect the programs which are using a file. This way you can stop the program and then delete the file. However, what you are having is probably some sort of spyware/adware/virus . I suggest using Spybot S&D or AdAware and see if these programs can help you. [Moving to Technical Support]
  3. Run a trace and attach the result (trace.txt) to a reply in this topic. It probably is a foreign router/switch problem somewhere (as Telson explained) which you can't do anything about and should resolve in a few days. The trace would confirm this. [Moving to Technical Support]

  12. It's not hard at all to setup Mervbot, you only need to know a few things. What I made was a checklist, it might look like alot but it isn't that much.
  13. well, yes. FACTS does it by using a 1024x1024 bitmap to convert to the map where all (pure) white pixels are set as a tile. It would be neat if DCME can do this, although its not really a requirement for a good map editor (only a nice feature).
  14. You seem to have a few problems. Please check and if you haven't got it, fix the following: Make sure BotName is a registered name on your server already (saves the trouble and makes it sure it isn't an unregistered name problem) Make sure BotName is on vip.txt (if you want the bot to have staff powers, put the bot name on moderate.txt / smod.txt / sysop.txt aswell) make sure the bot is allowed to enter your zone in the first place - have server.ini allow subspace clients Remove all empty (no name specified)-lines from operators.txt . You don't need to specify a password, this is only usefull for when the biller goes offline and everyone can get on your name. (Best is to specify a different name + password to use when biller goes offline) You have specified a staff password twice ("yekoms" and "mod") in spawns.txt. If you want the bot to be a moderator, put the name on moderator.txt and that should be enough. If you want the bot to be sysop, specify the sysop password behind the normal password seperated by a * . set NoTerminal to 0 in Mervbot.ini so you can see what goes wrong in the Mervbot window Try your bot, it should work. If it doesn't, check the window and try to get the error why it can't connect or why it disconnects. If the bot tries reconnecting over and over, set MaxConnectionTries to 0 in mervbot.ini so the biller/server doesn't "ban" you for trying to connect too many times. Good luck!

  18. Why so? A trace is a graph that displays the response time (and packet loss %) per hop, right? If response time and/or packets is longer/gets lost at the X hop, that would show a problem with that hop, correct? What I see at the trace from ProMemoreX, packets gets lost at the 14th hop which would explain his problem. However its weird the packetloss is gone at the last hop, however what is the reason behind the packetloss at the 14th then?

Maynard, even if Mackieman's system is flawed, I think its not going to change (since he doesn't even read this forum) and he is one of the few accepting the harsh and rewardless (or however you would say) job. I don't think you will be able to get your name back. Wouldn't ?lostp!@#$%^&*word work for you or have you lost the email address (and you aren't able to recreate it)?
  20. Methias, I recommend you to tryout Mervbot. It is easy to setup and can be online in your zone in a few minutes. (read the readme's and modify the mervbot.ini & spawns.txt) Apart from that, there are alot of plugins around for Mervbot which you can easily use in your zone. [Moved to Development]
  21. The trace shows that it isn't a problem with your computer(s) or your router. The problem is located at a router/switch near the server, something you can't do anything about. I suggest waiting until the problem resolves, there is not alot more you can do.
