VMWare isn't designed to run games in a virtual image, it's logical that such problems arise. You're probably better off using this: http://wine.getcontinuum.com

Yay sourceforge! Do you allow people to join so they can use the repository and help in development ? If you need help with website(s), let me know, maybe I can help you in hosting. For the TWCore project D1st0rt and I setup a Trac environment which I'm really satisfied about. Maybe you would favour the same?

You can't upload bmp's, convert them to png or gif first.

As explained in http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?act=...=01&HID=23: Use ?lostp!@#$%^&*word to have a new password be sent to the email address you set when registering the name. If that doesn't work, visit http://www.ssbase.com/billing.shtml . If you mean you have the password filled in your profile but don't know what it is anymore; no you can't recover that one. (Unless you use some sort of hack program that lets you see the letters under the ****** in your profile.)

Why? If it's about the avatar, I just removed that and PM'ed him about it.

Yoink, I noticed you have to wait a while for all the images to load properly in your browser. Try that

A Subspace server would never use more bandwith then a Wolfenstein ET server or any other new-age game server. Remember that subspace/continuum was made for modem users. I think you can support the same number of players on a subspace server as Trench Wars has - they should run a single subspace server aswell. For specs of the server, you don't need to get really much. Ofcourse a 1 GHz wouldn't cut it when you want to support alot of players but any other modern server would do just fine.

What happens when you reach level 10 in post count?

In your case, you will get a nice ban for spamming the forum with pointless posts. -
When googling for "TA memory" I found someone suggested to use this tool to find out manufacturer information from the memory module while it's still plugged into the computer. Have you already tried this?

Are there any client-side bots available for download?

On top of Continuum client? There is currently nothing available that lets you do this. -

Theoretically that should be possible. You can read the text in the Continuum window by reading some memory from Continuum or by attaching a process to Continuum that reads the text from the window. However I believe the Continuum client is protected by all kind of anti-debugging securities amongst others. Theoretically possible, practically impossible or undoable. I have seen a program do such a thing (I forgot the name); it created ascii art-like text and then used Continuum to send it (at least, that is what the author claimed). There was no source of the program though. -
Happy birthday Swift! Open up your e-mail to see my birthday gift Did everybody else also give him a birthday gift? We all owe him some because of SSFN How is your birthday for the rest, Swift? Going to do some fun stuff?

Bots can be compared to the old Subspace client - it uses the same protocol without encryption. Continuum uses a special encryption over the protocol. This is the reason why you can't have a bot connect to a normal zone without the bot being on vip.txt. If a name is on vip.txt, the server allows the name to use the old subspace protocol (if the correct properties on server.ini to allow subspace clients are also set ofcourse). (BTW you can also setup the server in such a way it always accepts bots without them being on vip.txt) "Bots not possible without mod+" is nonsense. If the bot uses a name from vip.txt then it has no staff powers and can be considered a normal player. If you put the same name on moderate.txt / smod.txt / sysop.txt it will also get the staff powers. I believe that if the name is on sysop.txt it doesn't require the name to be on vip.txt aswell but only if the bot uses the password*sysoppw login. (not completely sure about this last fact) Last tip: if you want a "chatbot", use subchat. -
Polix, if you do can keep up with them (just assume for the moment), would you like if those non-SSC zones are on ISG? I'm thinking in the direction of making an bridge between ISG and the Subspace Statistics which gets the zone's website address from the zone's description. If a zone doesn't provide a website address in their description or the zone is considered dead then it simply isn't listed on the ISG. Goal: minimal to no maintenance required for keeping ISG up to date.

I believe that is a per-forum setting.
