  1. Too bad, sscentral.com was one of the most stable ones apart from 'sscentral.sscuservers.net'. You seem to have solid arguments to shut it down though. Thanks for the directory service :-)
  2. Lynx can give you http://phoenix.subspace.net
  3. ... such a pointless bump <_<
  4. Hey larry! How have you been?
  5. Good information every player should know. Polix, you should consider changing the topic title into something that reflects the contents. Like "A Warning For All: Do not trade Continuum Names". Maybe the topic will be noticed even more this way.
  6. I agree with the strikes but I'm really clueless what I can do against this as I'm not an US resident. At the same time, the US seem to have the power to seriously disrupt the internet. So yeah, something definately needs to be done to stop America disrupting the internet but I have no idea what.
  7. Would you like some information on how to get up and running with Subversion in Eclipse ?
  8. Are you using Eclipse, jab? If so, what version?
  9. You should read SSCU Trench Wars Forums - Have you been banned?. Only if you're caught in a network-wide ban, go to http://ssc.subspace.co/bans/.
  10. You don't necessarily have to do Winkey + R, you can also use the search text input in the start menu. There is no way to make this folder more accessible apart from making a shortcut to this folder somewhere. It might be possible to install Continuum in a different folder so all files are stored there instead in Program Files. I'm not sure though, Continuum might just store map files in the Virtual Store anyway.
  11. Don't let avast hear about this :hihi:
  12. I support your actions and the population modification but have you thought about that the EG/CZ/PB zones may be willing to change the inflation but can't because they can't access their subgame.exe binary file? I believe SSCU Extreme Games is hosted on Priit K.'s server and they won't have access to any zone files (just like 17th Parallel and Trench Wars never have). I don't know about SSCX Chaos/League Zone SVS or SSCX PowerBall but they might just be in the same server-lockin. If this is the case, I personally would vote to have the entire arena-sharing feature removed because of this bug. When you look at the population charts, you see how ridiculous it really is: http://stats.sshq.net/graphs/graph_24_4.png PS. It seems that SSCX PowerBall isn't participating, but SSCX Star Warzone is: http://stats.sshq.net/graphs/graph_26_4.png
  13. In my honest personal opinion I think you're really just wasting time and space with the pastebin feature. When you announced it, I had the feeling of "Subspace.co should really focus on subspace and not offer all kind of random services that might remotely be handy every now and then". If it's dedicated to for example pasting Continuum's log files then I can see the purpose but other then that... ? I don't really know about the Twitter feature. I doubt I will ever check it more then once a year.
  14. I'm able to contact the one who is hosting getcontinuum.com. I think I can ask to modify wine.getcontinuum.com. Are the instructions above copy/pastable into wine.getcontinuum.com ? If no, is it possible to tell me exactly what needs to be modified?
  15. yes, but maybe it also affects the directory server. Now if I think about it, "SSCL Desert Storm" was up and running in all the directory servers yesterday (or the day before that). Now you've changed the port and tried to have it register under the same name again in the same directory servers. It's quite logical the directory servers won't accept the change because they see as another server is trying to hijack the name. I guess you have to wait for the directory servers (mainly sscuservers.net) to drop the old Desert Storm name (and who knows how long that will take). Why don't you use the port you had set previously?
  16. Have you tried changing the groupid, scoreid and/or ServerId?
  17. SSCL Desert Storm population statistics online: http://stats.sshq.net/graphs/graph_87_1.png
  18. Congratulations on the reviving of the zone! The reason why you're having an issue with the directory server is most likely because your zone isn't pingable (on normal port +1) to retrieve population numbers. You can try it yourself at http://stats.sshq.net/dzone/3433/SSCL_Desert_Storm (click the http://stats.sshq.net/images/refresh.gif). Check your firewall
  19. @Lynx is the one to contact but thanks for reporting. Hopefully he sees this and it gets fixed.
  20. The populations statistics for SSCL Metal Gear CTF are up and running. http://stats.sshq.net/graphs/graph_85_2.png
  21. Why all the anger and hate? As with lots of things in life; if you don't like it, just ignore it
  22. Good to hear. For future resolutions, what was the solution to your problem?
  23. :offtopic: Ofcourse it's not great that nobody but the server host has access to the zone files and binaries. I know that Priit K. does it because he's afraid of abuse of the access and mistakes people can make. I've seen a couple of people (in high places) go absolutely nuts and try to ruin the zone. I'm not that involved in Trench Wars anymore but I highly doubt they do anything that makes the zone less secure. Can you elaborate about the bot interface? I only know of TW Chat that could expose a security risk but with enough moderation it really isn't.
  24. Someone mind splitting Avasts's post into a seperate topic for DSB bashing?
  25. Maybe you already did but I have to ask - have you read the post "Why will Continuum not load for me?" in the Frequently Asked Questions topic? Apart from that, check your Directx installation (run 'dxdiag' from the Start/run dialog). It's one of the first things Continuum addresses after pressing 'Play'.
