Ok, fixed it. Apparently image definitions are only valid in the data block that they are defined in... ugh and of course there's no need to do-*BAD WORD*-ent things like this :/

Lack of memory doesn't cause freezes (at least not mouse freezes). Does the system event log say anything at the time of the freeze? Is there any HDD activity? Is your CPU temperature normal?
Melvin bot? lol, do you mean MERVBot? They figure it out by being smart and knowing what they do Decrypting the net traffic is all it took really. Once the encryption was broken, it was pretty easy to guess the rest.
