  2. Well um... yay? Hyperspace hasn't really changed from last reset... except many expensive things got cheaper. Yay for less grind. Of course this reset has problems... it barely changed from the last besides for new maps. There will still be bricking, thoring, and sharks... if nothing changes. I don't know you managed the last one and do these complaints now, because practically nothing has changed. Goodbye

  4. Instead of buying ammo how about recharging ammo? It would work like a ships recharge but instead it fills back up over time.

  6. Acually, if you get a lanc, fill it up, then the last person who attaches has PD, when PD switches on life and time itself would disconnect.

  9. I think ammo is just a useless money hog. Now that summon works perfect you can just warp, macro, warp back. In base I'd rather get the now ammoless pea shooter and use that ammo money on bricks instead beam array or something of the like. I also think there should an ammoless lvl 1 bomb (just like gamma ray), except for only the bomber oriented ships. But yeah, Bricks>ammo packs for basing. In center the best guns are ammoed, but there's no point to switch to them until your ship can kill good enough first. And even then, all ammo accomplishes is periodic spendings of 1k sums. EDIT: You still can make money in center though.
  10. Perhaps one of the better candidates for a brick recharge is the Energy Infusion, and even perhaps the Brick Attack (if it gets fixed).
  11. I wonder why this has to be complained about... most of your points fishy have already been discussed somewhere else... The staff probably knows about this stuff by now you'd think...
  12. 1. If the solution is to have people sit around JUST to rep thors, then there is obviously a balance issue. 2. And currently, thors can (and usually will) go FAST. If you aren't paying complete attention expect to get hit. If thors were slower more people would rep them when they see them. I can't rep what I can't see...
  13. It was never impossible to start out, as we all can prove with ourselves. However if you want to be any type of "useful" in basing, thats a different story. I could start a new account any day and make enough money centering to buy stuff. The thing is, it always comes with a basing match where I sit around useless (gunlining, sure, but with low HP and "light-speed style" thor crossfires). It can also be very frustrating to not be able to rush, especially on the attacking team (where you need it).
  14. "The increase in base money to 10k"... huh? The increase in sell price is good. More weapons is good too. But Suicide_Run, I'm on a different point here. My point is that newbie fail at basing. You don't get much choice except to center for a while. Of course, there's always leeching.

  16. That doesn't change anything with that solution. You're still going to have to center first. You need 10k for the spider and pulse. Basing with spider like that=you a leech and not being helpful. That doesn't help basing at all. Finally, the 4th solution also means you have enough stuff to really not be a noob anymore. You were still useless in basing for a while, and you don't even care to explain rushing. Why? Exactly my point, there just isn't a way (without a 17k per say). And if you don't get it, you 100% must rush if you're trying to progress in an attacking team (no ifs whens, or buts), and it needs to be effective (also no ifs, whens, or buts). If newbs can't rush effectively, bad teams occur. This is why its hard. Money doesn't come out of thin air, Mij. So get the idea and notice that newbies could use a defense mount price reduction or something.
  17. So what do you suggest? HS worked before, its NOW that isn't working. There IS ways to make bigger teams work: see last reset. There IS ways that make more 'good' people: see last reset. Why, the new people who come in just don't have what it takes. A year ago I used to complain how new ships have it unfair. Back then you start with 950 energy, pulse laser was $500, money came in faster and close combat gave two repels, one burst. So whats my point? The point is, newbs have it so much harder now in so many ways it made my complaining from before look like a completely. stupid. joke. (I used to say that its hard to get a positive rec with your newb ship. That remark made me look stupid. Now, if I said that, not only would I be true, its would even be said that its a normal part of Hyperspace! Progress! ) The problem is that there isn't any streamlined way for newbs to do things (other than die in center). Gunlining means you stay back. Stay back means you get thorred. Your low health makes you die. Great plan there, devs. So lets screw that and rush. Rushing costs 17000: two repels, two burst, ammo, and 230 exp for it. Rushing with a big ship? 500 exp, and at least some rockets to minimise damage, meaning $12500. However, pea shooter sucks. Try pulse. $17500. Might as well go with the first idea. Oh whoops, no money. Hahaha...ha. I guess I should go back to dying in center. And thats basing for newbs in a nuts!@#$%^&*. Do you want newbs to be useful at all, great developers of HS?
  18. Lets make maxfreq size 6, with the name taking up a slot for privs. Thats how HS was like when I first came in. Due to the smaller freqs not only were flag games won quicker, but only the useful got into the good privs .
  19. So reps work... ...or not? My idea was based off stuff like the first two quotes, but I see Suicide_Run's point. I think thors just fly by at the speed of light. That means repels suck as a counter in general, that doesn't help make the situation any better. Now it becomes forced to get hit by them (Which is not a good balancing plan). I can think only think of one thing of Hyperspace that FORCED you to be hit. The thors we have, 'Light-speed style' are it. This situation could be solved if the fast-moving or high bombspeed ships could not use a siege mount. Why, lets only use lancs to use thors. Solves the problem, and lancs the defacto backrow ship. Me like.
  20. Perhaps repels should be buffed. It's a double-sided coin: rushers may get stronger repels but so do defenders. It should be a little easier to rep thors since they're so powerful and all.

  22. Eh, recharge still has a use when you are running all day and night. But you need a lot of it with a lot of energy for a fast ship to actually make it useful. The other time is when you're gunlining or bomblining in base (without rushing either). But even then, recharge compliments energy, while energy is essential. NOW TO RELOS'S GUIDE TO RUSHING Another thing to note is that nrg is free, while repels, bursts, and thors are not. Therefore the cheapest rushing ship would be the $5000 cost spider, who starts with 2050 nrg and has a long reach with its guns. However, you want to upgrade to pulse so you can do some actual damage with your rushing ship. Also, get rockets asap. Repels and bursts aren't useful with you're rocketing forward, so just buy a brick mount instead. Finally, after you max out your Health buy Solid for gun eating or Ampere for a more gunlining focused ship. Next possible rusher is the Weasel. 2300 HP, and is fast enough to screw rockets and just go repel/burst. Your extra HP is minimized when they get more bullets in the air due to your slower speed. But thats why you're on the defending team with the levi bombliners, so you can profit off your burst and repel spam. Once you clear this imbalanced hurdle you're set to blow the already inferior attacking team away. Yay for a great example for HS's balance. Now the Shark. If you're new and don't know by now always prioritize getting though>killing. AD helps with this a lot. Then you can get the flags and warp because the all-newb team who defied odds and got through you guys didn't have antiwarp! Also a few tips: -Prioritize shark rushers. They're hard to kill unless you focus your shots on them, much unlike the weasel (but be careful of them as well.) -Fast guns=good for rushing. Time is short before you die, so get all the output you can. (...Unless you're a rushing ship that also gunlines I suppose) -Relos has 1 and a half fish -Rushing with high energy ships are always a good option if your efforts are unless. Lanc rushing is extra special because you're fast enough to not need rockets. But what if you rocket with solid nutronium, repel 3 burst 2 (with capacity), Phaser until death, AD, and repeat? Thats about 10000 HP of Pain there counting the armor! Gunlining would be ineffective, and people would learn to repel again! And if everyone repels like they should, there will be ITEM SPAMMING! Hip, hip hooray, what a flawed system we have today--- HS discourages item spamming... so why are the mechanics made FOR it? massive failure. If you don't want item spamming, you make alternatives that AREN'T item spamming. Meaning you shorten gun delay a lot and make it a gunlining fest,or something else? Hey seriously, basing needs a definitive when it comes to style. If we want big tanks to be rushers so there's less requiredness for bursts and repels, then that works. Why do I complain about HS? Well, I have faith that someone will change it. Either there is item spamming or there isn't. Make your minds up already, and make the items reflect your decision.
