Indeed. Don't be concerned about lack of moderation until rules are being broken regularly with no punishment!

HS aught to try out private freqs again. Then try out a different size for private freqs.

Ok, since a little while ago, bombs emit a predetermined level of shrapnel. Check them with ?iteminfo: The stat "shraplevel" tells you what level of shrapnel the bomb has. If you grab a bomb with "shraplevel =3", and grab a gun that is L1, your bomb will emit L3 shrapnel. Plus, shrap booster gives +1 shraplevel, meaning you can achieve L4 shrapnel if you have a bomb with L3 shrap + Shrap Booster. Due to limits in continuum, you will see the shrap from the bombs you fire on your own screen as the same level as your gun - but others will see them and take damage from them according to the shraplevel stat in ?iteminfo.
-
Entropy emits L1 shrapnel, so yes, you'd take L1 shrapnel damage. The only person who sees the bomb with any shrapnel besides L1 is the person who fired it.
-
I tried it out, not too useful. L1 shrap doesn't do much damage, don't think I made any kills in the minibase with its shrap. If it could use better than L1 shrapnel, it'd be nice. I can see it being great for getting people to back up around chokes though - the shrapnel will be flying everywhere causing them to pull back. It floods areas like beam array, but isn't much made for massive damage.

I still want omega 13, or whatever it was. Would be a cool FTL. Aaaand, a "Chaingun", or Non-energy-efficient Phaser would be nice for a cheaper price and for sharks.

I've already got one from Metroid: Zero Mission. It actually works quite nicely. -

I've thought about that before. I think the recharge is supposed to be small and the energy to be huge, or something like that, and a variety of ships with different uses. Hyperspace's current ship roles may be right for an event like this one. I was also thinking of a large-ish map with open spaces and obstacles along with large structures that can be used to form in/hide. Kind of like caves or hallways that lead to less open rooms, but nowhere near bases. Anyone to get a rock tileset with diagonals, 22.5* angle diagonals. etc? A good one too. -
Educated guess: Zone news: I'd give it +/- 30 days.

Let's send an email to everything listed on subspace to come play HS right when it resets on February 9, 2009. Oh snap-- did I just reveal the official reset date? Oh noes!
-
I almost think resets are unnecessary. The zone shouldn't need a reset to bring in new players - that's taken care of already by "newbie" items. If there's a real use for it, I'd like to know what it is. It gets rid of players sometimes (however it is a fact that the population rises - at least temporarily - at resets).
-
I thought it already gave the losers 10% or something similar to that? Not sure, haven't seen a flag game for a few days.

Multi-Purpose Gun: Basically lets you use a bounceless Pulse Laser with single fire and a somewhat less efficient Gauss Cannon with multifire. Description: The MPG is useful for pilots who prefer control over power. Its main drawback is whether or not the pilot is able to make use of its multi-purpose feature. L2 bullets. Available on Warbird, Spider, Terrier and Weasel. Wonder if this aught to be a signature item. - - - I would also suggest giving some soccerthrowtime (how long you can hold the ball) to Tunnel Runner to encourage more ballers. I don't know if this is technically feasible though.

oh and spirulidae processor (addon)
-
sorry omni you already used up your item limit hmm I suggest these item names: Omega 37 for the FTL that moves you to wherever you were 10 seconds ago Expellonator paisano uh, and, Psythe's revenge

Stibby, I can't comprehend your posts as they are confusing. Mods are limited to hosting either 2 races a day, 10K's worth of trivia or otherwise not-too-much. That is, they usually follow these rules. -
Hs doesn't use bot's. You put you're apostrophe's in the wrong place's. Which is basically the extent of my grammar knowledge... Oh and this IS in trash talk my bad
-
interesting "2 resets from now" OMG THAT'S ONLY 12 MONTHS-ISH no big deal anyways, but it does deserve to go, basing belongs in the non-center sectors

Did you have any ideas besides a map? What would the settings, gameplay, etc. be? -

The center line had two transwarps set up on the same spot, I just split them apart. Each transwarp is 2 tiles wide and are against eachother inside the line. Removed the purple smoke tiles in order to let the ball spawn in the exact middle. Did a little more tuning up too. The transwarps don't work perfectly, I hope I can get some help from doc, as he setup foosball's transwarps and they worked (when the event didn't crash your client) perfectly, IIRC. -

?go HotPocket It's done! Features the event idea mentioned above, plus freeze-frisbee, where you must score like regular powerball, but when you hold the ball you can not move. Even more events may be added to the arena... suggestions are welcome! Wow, frisbee is a funny word. Frisbee. -
I used to like salvo on levi, if you could aim you could take out any ship willing to attack you, I thought it was useful on jav too with phaser/salvo... salvo is pretty good as-is

Idea: Everyone is warbird except for one person, preferably the host, who is a levi. The warbird each have 7 repels. Large ring with a few obstacles in it, divided down the center by tiles that ships can't go through, but bombs can. The levi shoots a bomb from the top toward either side (The bomb shooting area will have bomb-eating tiles in order to force the bomb to be shot a certain direction). The bomb has a large prox and a very large splash radius and damage. Teams repel the bomb in order to survive and kill the opposing team. If the bomb hits the outer ring, it should kill a decent amount of ships. If the bomb explodes, whichever team has the most players still alive wins. This could be made easily with no restraints, simple settings. Map is a simple large ring, could be styled with vertical line gradients for a flare effect on the radar. -
I suggest screenshots, it'll definitely get you more feedback. Then again, without screenshots, you'll only get feedback from people who care enough to even spend one minute on it. As for me, I'm too lazy to look at it. One thing though, an example base of a nicely spaced, not-too-cramped, fair-enough base would probably be base 2, the ice one. Not the best example, just something to think about. Obviously rigged (as in long hallways with a tiny hole to bombline through from the other end) bomblines are unacceptable, and won't be added unless modified. I shouldn't say much as I didn't even take the time to look at the map.
