I hardly think league participation has much to do with the age of a squad. Maybe you should re-name the topic to, "Oldest, Yet Still Active, Squad in Subspace". O R I O N S Q U A D is pretty lifeless atm, but has been around since 98, possibly earlier. Other old SWZ squads include, Jedi^Force, The Genocide, and Zeta-Squadron, as mentioned before.

T_A, you will be missed. (tell me your alias in game) LOLLLL at Red Star. I'm pretty sure that is dead, or on life support. You could also include Fusion, which I personally think is some sort of EG/Redstar/SWZ hybrid(Mostly RS). Hak, I was going to elaborate more but people tend to by-p!@#$%^&* long-winded posts. Creds are unique enough and Deva has original settings, bases, tilesets, map layouts etc... I was only using it as an example that there will always be something that is "borrowed" from existing or past zones. I will make it a priority to have more of a presence in Deva than I have for the last month or so. I just get irritated that even when people are online, it is usually a spec reunion of some sort.

T_A, how them computer troubles working out for you? I personally enjoy both of the zones mentioned. Deva has been around a lot longer and has completely different game play than Hyperspace. The flagging aspect is something I prefer about Deva because there really isn't any flagging zones these days except Extreme Games... P.S. Hyperspace isn't unique as you might think because I'm aware of one other zone that originally came up with that concept long before HS came along, Raptor Zone. I'm sure there were others as well. Just as Deva isn't unique because there were other flagging zones prior to it's existance.

Here is my opinion... I cannot agree that turf would benefit Deva. I speak out of experience. My zone, SSIA Dooms Day, started in 2000, roughly around the same time as Deva, was turf style flagging. Where is it now? No one gave a !@#$%^&* about it because turf sucks balls. Also, I went innactive(lol). One thing that I believe helped sustain players, and possibly obtain some new players was the fact that all zone-statistics were recorded and made available for the public's use. Edome seems to be out for the count, and apparently never going to be re-instated. I think this affects subspace as a whole. What is the use of points if you can't get an idea of how you compare to everyone else? So my suggestion is this: If possible, record and display Devastation statistics somewhere on the website. Which seems at the moment, to be serving no purpose. And props to JDS for attempting to help Deva, may the force be with you.

The only practical use for a play offline function is to test maps. Too bad with DCME you can already do that now... But if your testing needs to be settings specific, than yes, play offline is useful. I really don't know why it was removed to begin with... *Edit* Worst comes to worse, you can always download an old Subspace client and use it's play offline option. Just remember whatever you have as local.lvl will be the displayed map.

Lol, thx scubes. 1stStrike wasn't bad too... Until I got axed from sysop. Completely forgot about Space Duck Battle, that zone was alright. I guess if we are going to mention low pop zones, ill throw The Abyss out there. Also, one of my favorites that no one probably remembers is Raptor Zone(The one where you had to buy new ships/upgrades).

Star Warzone (the one with Zeta-laggers), A Small Warzone, SCF West, VIE Chaos East, Sub-Icide, Ground Warfare, Zero Annihalation.

I read first post, which was... long enough. So I'm going to reply without reading the full thread, gg. Deva is pimp. However, I don't always like what I see when I come around, all the way across town, you been searchin for that someone, and it's me out on the prowl... Oh !@#$%^&*... So let's all take a word of advice from a 10 year veteran SS trash talker. Treat others as you expect them to treat you in return. Keep the !@#$%^&*-baggery to a minimum. And if somebody is bustin your chops, they shouldn't be, and a mod should be able to solve this problem with a warning to the appropriate player. P.S. Don't run-win.
