  1. That's a really cool story about the convention, iron... Mexico, Hooters and Titty bars, awesome lol. Also pretty cool that that some of the original SS devs were in attendance. I was only 12 back then for reference, but sounds like my kind of party!
  2. When i started making maps in about 99 I looked up to the SS mapmaker's guild. People like Einexile, Cuervo muerto, perhaps Captain Harloch?, were members whose abillity I admired. I remember getting an arena in SCF West(run by einexile? or was it silentdragon, idk), and some of the interesting dev work that happened in there.
  3. I would love to hear from some of my old friends on here, so I'm reviving this topic. I'm sure we can all agree that this game holds a special place in our hearts. Although we can never really get that feeling again of playing this beautiful game in it's heyday, we can share some nostalgic memories/pictures/websites of our glory days. It would be cool to see some old screenshots or subspace/continuum websites, but I would love to hear about your in-game stories, which zones you played in, why you left, or perhaps why you came back to check in. I look forward to seeing what comes out of this and who's still out there. ❤️: Some subspace history: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/The_History_of_Trench_Wars/Pre-HistorySt Screenshot from the best zone of all time, Star Warzone screensh2344ot6.bmp
  4. Thanks for brining ssforums back to life, Polix. It's been really nostalgic and a bit eye opening as to how much of a fool i use to be lol. Nice to see some familiar names. Hopefully this brings some more people out of the woodwork as well!
  5. http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u214/rottenronald/nr1016devaH.jpg This is actually the map that I meant to post lol. Use this one instead. nr1016devaHmess.lvl
  6. XDOOM, my friend, long time no see. Hope you are doing well in life. You may be alarmed to hear that Obsinoobs have taken over the zone and there is no more NrG.InI! fued. Oh and apparently the zone is all about baseduel lols. Pub basing was the best, and still is the best. This new generation doesn't know what's good for them lol.

  8. ahh memories, wish my stupid pc would play subspace... mostly playin gta online now lol.
  9. Nope, Captain Harloch was the original leader of the SS Council, creator of Star Warzone, and owner of Zeta-Squadron but he retired long ago.
  10. Ya, it's still alive, barely lol... As you can probably tell by the activity in this forum. It's good to hear from you RA, it's been a long time. I remember how much you liked Saturday Night Slayfest, didn't you end up running your own similar event? It feels like a life time ago, over 10 years anyway lol. 1stStrike zone was good times, especially since I was sysop until I got axed for creating my own zone lol. Miss everyone from back in the day. I hope you are all doing good for yourselves!
  11. I remember my fair share of dogfighting and T20 safety zone wars in Alpha. Please share.
  12. Thank you for that, takes me back. Now for some zones that I miss: -Star Warzone -SCF West -VIE Chaos East -Sub-Icide -South Park Zone
  13. Awesome pic! I was looking for myself in there lol. J12 wars were what got me hooked on this game! And since I can't seem to find much, I'll just list some old Subspace websites that I remember: -VIE's subspace website (I can't remember the url or find a screenshot of this anymore) -subspace.ds98.com -subspace.warstrike.com -einexile's minefield (always appreciated this guys map making abilities along with earlier members of the Subspace MMG) -subspacezone.net -subspacehq.com (good times) -possum's zoner -subspace.ogaming.com Thankfully we still have this website considering how many we used to have.
  14. It would be cool to have a thread full of historic Subspace pictures, old subspace webpages(archives?), things that remind you of when you first played this game. Preferably don't chime in if you started playing recently. <_< Also, just to clarify, don't post your life story, how or why you started playing this game, or your mother's maiden name. Only Subspace related nostalgia(VIE nostalgia encouraged)!!! Just ran across this picture that takes me way back. This picture should be familiar to you if you started playing a really long time ago.
  15. Respect for your service to this game, Polix. Thanks for giving us a forum to come back to for all these years!

  17. I made Continuum as an exception in my AV and still no dice... If anyone has a link to any FAQs about reasons why Cont. won't start, please post them.
  18. I just tried downloading the zip and installing it that way and it's still the same. Nothing appears to be happening when i double click Continuum.exe... Here are some things I've tried: -Re-Install several times -Tried to run in Sandboxie -Made an allowance for Continuum.exe in Data Execution Prevention -Tried running as a different user And most likely a couple other things I'm forgetting at the moment.. I have no clue what to try next.
  19. I did several times. Still nothing... Is there another installer other than the one on this site(if that would even help)?
  20. I can't seem to get Continuum to start up after having a virus attack yesterday. The virus seems to be successfully removed but it hid all my files on me and some other stupid things. Now when I click on the Continuum startup icon, nothing happens. Anyone ever heard of this, or have any clue how I can get up and running again?
  21. I have to apologize for singling out Hyperspace. Because despite what I thought, it is not the only zone exploiting the bug. However, things like this make the game seem unprofessional, and are a rather poor way to represent the community.
  22. It appears as if they have yet Hyperspace still shows over 1000... Ok then, Hyperspace is exploiting a bug.
  23. So I noticed the population counts in most zones are back down to their true values. A job well done to whoever was responsible for this. Now I think it's time for Hyperspace to step up to the plate and stop inflating the statistics.
  24. I agree it should be fixed, but why single out an ancient zone with no active staff members(Star Warzone). It earned it's SSC slot many years ago my friend. But fix the damn population counts, it's childish to have these kinds of things present in our community.
  25. Ps1- Chrono Chross, Saga Frontier XBox- Baldur's Gate Genesis- Shadowrun(not the version for SNES, which is a different game with an identical name for some reason) Super Nintendo- Legend of Mana, Secret of Mana, Lufia These are all RPGs mind you.
