It was pretty aparent when we captured Hussein and when the world publicized that there were no WMD's, that there were no WMD's. We didn't need to wait for the president to admit it before we believed it.

Isn't that why the majority of wars have been fought?
-
The war in Iraq was a strategic political move, that backfired. Put it into this perspective: Right now Bush has an approval rating fluctuating around 30. Now imagine that after 9/11 the USA captured Bin-Laden in Afghanistan. Now imagine that we uprooted Hussein and found a massive store of WMD's. Now think about what that approval rating would be. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the Bush administration was trying to save face after "failing" in Afghanistan. Iraq happened to be the easiest target as a good majority of Americans could still vividly remember not only the gulf war, but also the atrocities that Hussein has committed/was committing. I suspect, and there is no way to prove this hypothesis, that the American people wanted this war. Americans were still angry from 9/11, they were bitter that we did not capture the man responsible for the attacks and were looking for an easy outlet to pour that anger into. As stated about, it just so happened that Iraq was the easiest target, with the most existing hatred already present in the country. You can try to say that the American people were tricked into thinking that there were weapons involved, but in mid-late 03, once Hussein was captured and it was shown that there were no WMD's in Iraq, the President still had a 71% approval rating. His approval rating started dropping once people realized that the war was not going to end any time soon.

If you say you can't blame the party for the politics of the individuals, then you can't blame an individual for the politics of the party. As for Iran, there is no hope for cooperation with Iran in this decade. Not singularly because of American sentiment, also because of Iranian sentiment. As for his economic issues I agree with his stance (on some things), the solution to an economy where people are struggling to pay for food and gas, where the average citizen is spending more in a year than they make, is not to raise taxes.

I can't believe she's gotten the vote she's had with the blatant lies and contradictions she's been caught in already, not including the dozens more you could find on the internet. The fact that she's made it this far shows that the American people, at least a large portion of, enjoy being lied to. Almost makes me sad to be an American.

Just because you feel that the second amendment is outdated doesn't mean it's unintelligent to think otherwise. I really don't want to go on with this as this has been the topic of many lengthy discussions already.
-
The problem is that there is always some demographic in our overly "liberal" society who will take offence to something.
-
I can't believe you're arguing that. The statement was a simple enough statement, hillary is "likeable enough" to become president. It was not a cheap shot. It is a well known fact that Clinton has never been known for being personally "likeable". So was Obama supposed to lie and say "No Hillary, regardless of what the polls say, the American people find you very likeable". You know it's bad when Sever and I completely agree.
-
Sorry I don't have time to read this entire topic, but to this end: What makes you think these people have any interest in becoming our allies? For example, if the USA extended a peace treaty (of sorts) to Iran, it would be accepted as well in Iran as an Iranian peace treaty would be welcomed in the USA. For as much anti middle east sentiment there is in the US, there is double the anti west sentiment in the middle east.

The democrats have done no better. The Clintons, who have been the largest democratic(party) figures in the past 30 years are renowned for their dishonesty. Hillary has been caught in more lies just in her campaign than most politicians I can remember. Even Billy, leaving office with over a 60% approval rating, also left office with over 65% of Americans believing he was dishonest and not trustworthy. Neither side is any better than the other. Ultimately I still fail to see where you are saying he is conforming to the conservatives. Most, and I say most not all, of his policies haven't changed for at least a decade. Again you have a senator who has a PROVEN record of not abiding by "party politics" and combating against the very same people you're saying he's conforming to. Yes he has policies he's conservative on. Yes he has policies he's liberal on. Which I again say make him a moderate. And as for threatening Iran, well I could go on for an entire other topic for why that could be a good idea and why it is warranted, but for now I'll say that I actually agree with Clinton in her statement that if Iran attacks Isreal, we attack Iran.

Fin can you post a source for all of your information. Also you presented a terribly bias, although I have come to expect that, interpretation of everything. You almost singularly presented a very one-sided pessimistic view on all of the policies. Which is well in your right to do, but taking such a strong sided stance in a subject that is largely interpretable, does not give much credibility to your argument.
-
I second that.

As a whole I doubt many people know what McCain's real stance is on most things. I'm undecided as a whole, but I just think that his policies are a little known fact. Things like he was one of the only republicans to vote against Bush on many issues seems to slip peoples minds. Specifically for one thing, he's voted against most of Bush's tax cuts. I do have to say that I do side with him on many views such as welfare reform, health care, capitol punishment/crimes, torture and immigration. I still need to do further research on his foriegn policies, economic plans and gun rights. I view McCain as a strong moderate candidate.

I've got ya both beat. No one out drinks an Irishman.
-
Exactly what he said. !@#$%^&* in fact some girls make a living off that.
-
Actually he said nothing about raping you, just getting you drunk. It's only insinuating rape if he infers that you don't want it.
-
Yeah my bad, I sidetracked the topic.

Thats actually how I got the car, the insurance totalled it on the guy I knew, so he gave it to me for $200. The key is fixing it yourself and buying the parts from wholesale not retail. Also the russians were a huge help with the frame time. It's not like parts for honda's are exactly hard to come by.
-
psh Xterr you've always had a man crush on me. Actually the fix up wasn't that bad. The car cost 200, the engine was in tact so all I needed to do was the turbo. As for the parts, I got the radiator bumper, hood, and fenders for between 6-800 (I think, it's a bit to remember), the frame time was about 800 ( I knew some crazy russians who ran a fix and sell, nice cheap labor), the mounts were fairly cheap and my buddy had a connection to a good paint guy. To get back to good shape, including price of the car, it was only ~2200 (not including modifications I made in order to race it). Being the engine only had 10k on it, you can't find del sol's like that! What saved me really was doing everything but the frame time and paint myself.
-
Funny that you mention it, as I used to street race when I was a teenager and in college. I used to race a T top del sol I salvaged from a friend who totalled it and a buddy of mine raced a civic (with a turbo b-18 integra swap) and a rebuilt RX-7. Just to get the del sol back to running condition I needed 12 hours of frame time, new radiator, both front fenders, hood, bumper and two engine mounts. I'll see if I still have any pictures of before/after. I believe that is what most of the peeps point was on here, that you are guaranteed to be completely off on just about everyone based on reading a few posts of theirs for an online 2d space shooter game forum.

You forgot egotistical, not neccesarily a bad thing and immature. Not trying to pick on you, but anyone who is proud and or content to have the above !@#$%^&*ociations, specifically knowingly !@#$%^&*ociating them with yourself, needs a few more years of maturity. Now if you were intending to report those as flaws in your personality, intending that you are wonderful in spite of, then I retract the above statement and apologize for the misinterpretation.
-
Well that is very secular and quite superficial. It's not the concept of rejection that people are getting on you about, it's the concept of ignorant dis!@#$%^&*ociation and stereotyping. Ironically both my fiance and best friend, come from not only completely different backgrounds than me, but completely different backgrounds from each other. We all have more differences than similarities. In fact my fiance and I are almost polar opposites lol If we all liked the same things and thought the same way I would get bored !@#$%^&*ociating with them.

Knees shot, its at least repairable. Would you rather be rich and die young, or be poor and live a long life?

the mayans have been right on SOME predictions, but not that many. !@#$%^&* even the farmer's almanac has been right on some predictions. Their calendar had to end sometime, just as our calendar has a tenative end too.
