After playing the entire day, I'm wondering...
Aileron replied to Ducky's topic in General Discussion
Veg, it's still extremely early...usually this type of game starts with a two week no-attack period so people can build appropriate forces. Escentially right now people are being cheap and hoarding every penny. Right now people only have a few dozen weapons. In a week people will have hundreds of weapons and in two thousands. Basically, the turn to turn difference in gold will become negligable, and everyone will be able to sleep in peace. -
I've noticed a disturbing flaw in the FC Army system. On screens that show an event that will occur in the future (such as when the next turn is), the countdown timer says "in a hour" instead of the grammatically correct "in an hour". This flaw clearly makes the game unplayable and need to be fixed immeadiately.

You are splitting hairs.
-
No, and it would be suicide regardless.
-
They defied the will of the forum gods and got smited. End of story.

You did attack me you greedy prick.

Yes Veg, I am mad. I have spent about a million gold building up my spies while you spent that million on weapons. Now you are using those weapons against me and attacking me at my weakness, which is fair. I'm just mad because when I try to turn the situation around and attack you at your weakness I found that the rules got changed on me a long time ago by some people who aren't even involved in our rpg. Recently, I have devoted resources to what I like to call "Project S". The purpose of this experiment was with only a single spy, see if it is possible to actually carry out a sabotage on a single weak weapon on a weak target. The first subject of the experiment, "Subject 1", was my first target. "Subject 1" detected my attempt, though my spy escaped. However, undaunted, I continued to move on to "Subject 2". The result of this experiment was a success! Elated, I moved on to "Subject 3", though in this case this target detected my attempt and killed my spy. Morale of the story: One of you ppl have a sabotaged weapon in your inventory. All subjects of Project S will be kept confidential.

SeVeR, this forum has a new IproBattle system. Did you notice? You have been smited by the forum gods for your idiotic opinion. !@#$%^&* that was satisfying.

He had one torch that increased is sentry rating by about 4. I've looked of the KoC forums. It seems in the last update some whiners didn't like getting sabbed so they nerfed sabotage to something almost completely random. Yes, I know I'm being hypocritical for whining about lack of sabotage myself, though it is different. Being sabbed means you didn't build enough sentries...sab not being effective removes half the strategy from the game. Sorry about the profanity...lack of sleep and stress. I'd still like that formula though.
-
What the !@#$%^&* is the the formula for recon and sabotage and why the !@#$%^&* can't 40 level 5 covert sneak into a realm that has about 2 sentries in it? I've spen a good million gold building my covert and my recons are being intercepted by someone who doesn't have a single sentry! What the !@#$%^&* is going on?!?
-
I mean, if I recall, recons should be fairly safe operations, only blockable by people who are well beyond your league. Ah, now I remember...don't do any covert operations until lvl 10, otherwise freaky !@#$%^&* like this will happen.

Banking is part of the game. Its one of those tools that allows both weak players and offensive players to function, and without it the game would get full of defensive juggernauts. Could someone explain to me what the !@#$%^&* is going on with attraction? He's a little high up for someone with 4 units. I tried to recon him, but the recon failed...he would need level 6 covert to have any chance of stopping my recon !@#$%^&*uming all 4 of those units are sentries. That is unless there's something about recon in this system that I don't know...could someone include details on recons and sabs in the tutorial please?
-
You mean an uber-defense !@#$%^&* build a 10 bil defense and no attack? Actually that's part of the game. Trust me, it never works...eventually somebody or a group of people will m!@#$%^&* you just for the sake of massing you, and then you can't recover. Then again, I need to be careful with drawing from my experience with the last one of these I played. The last site had a protection system where if you give $20 to the site then no one can attack you for 3 days. Eventually not a single guild but an oversized alliance of guilds with a lot of money devised a system where half their members would buy the bonus and do nothing but create income while the other half would carry out attacks, and the income from the protected players went into repairs and reinforcements for the attacking half. For about $10k over the course of about 6 months they systematically destroyed the accounts of everyone else who was playing. We tried to fight back, but the heart of their income was under the invincible sheild of paid for protection bonuses. My account was destroyed but I don't consider myself the loser. At the end of the day, the rest of us quit and they have no one to play with...and I for one didn't lose any money in the process. The losers were to fools who paid up, and the winner was the guy running the website....hmmm....maybe I should create an MMORPG website. Point being, this site doesn't have said protection bonuses. Thus, any death squads won't have teammates with accounts entirely devoted to income, thus they may not be able to m!@#$%^&* as effectively, and strong defense might be more valueble than in my last experience.

Well now UP increases exponentially. However, after a certain point the growth curve changes and the law of diminishing returns applies. Atleast in the system I'm used to anyway. When I was up to about 5000 UP per day it started to slow down. Creating a multi account was a way to cheat...large players whould trade gold to a new account, buy UP at the lower rate, and transfer the units to the master account. Since no one is close to that kind of UP it isn't a problem...yet. Then again this group is significantly smaller, so I don't think people can cheat and get away with it here.
-
Actually no. I posted this in another topic, but it got buried. The key to this game is unit production, a technology that is hidden at the bottom of the training screen. Unit production means more units and more units means more income whether you are earning it or stealing it. The cost and effects of UP grow exponentially, but so does your resulting income. UP cannot be destroyed, sold, or damaged, so once you have it you will never lose it. You can over the long term grow arbitrarily strong, atleast in the beginning, if you focus on your unit production and worry about other stats later. Even if you get attacked a couple times and lose like 50k gold, if you have high UP you will still get a steady supply of units and an ever-increasing income. Eventually you will be able to hold on to a piece of it. My lead over Veg is a result of not sleeping. Veg's lead over you is a result of UP. Oh that reminds me...someone needs to keep a lookout for multis.

Thanks for the spam. I'd really like to know what was on the other side of the (more information) links.

Wait a minute...I take that back. You have a 250,000 GP helmet in your inventory there. You probably could get 128 by the evening...I'll have to move up to 256. *starts to stare down NBVegita with an angry look*
-
stupid low level useless recon. I wouldn't be too sure...I got the 320,000 for the 64 to 128 upgrade by attacking people as they were sleeping, and I'm suprised that I did. Infact, I planned on stopping at 64 a while to build stats, and sort of got 320,000 gold by accident. Now that ppl are awake there won't be that much money floating around.
-
And this is why you should never attack somebody that you can't recon: By the way, in case you wanted to know, here are Veg's stats:
-
Well, another thing you don't know veg...I have an Arabic test today and my teacher is an !@#$%^&*. I just pulled an all nighter and managed this during my study breaks...its morning here.
-
1) We are in the same guild, so neither one of us will be "perrish"ing (sp?) 2) Actually, I have a production based economy...I'm just going to keep growing faster and faster while building weapons with chump change.
-
Good. Build you stats up correctly Ducky. No one here knows how to play and its getting boring. I started at noon yesterday and have already taken over.
-
Spies can jack people's !@#$%^&*. Alright, they can't. But they can sabotage, which is just as fun and evil. The problem is that our gameworld hasn't reached the scale where effective sabotage is possible...yet Right now, I'm #1 for both covert and sentry, though my lead over someone with no sentry is only enough that I can only sab one or two daggers. However, like UP, spy skills grow exponentially early on. By next week sabbing will become militarily effective, though it will never be economically effective.
-
Its certainly wrong to sabotage, m!@#$%^&* (attack someone over and over with the intention of making their weapons break), or phase (attack someone over and over quickly so that they can't take any action) someone in your guild. Usually individual attacks for profit are wrong too, though with about 15 players there might need to be an exception here. You can check if someone is in your guild by clicking on their name instead of the "attack" button. Clicking of the name leads to a screen with basic info, including guild, as well as a convenient button to take you to the attack screen. This doesn't work for that no-name guild, so ha.
