Not in the US, 3 meals a day, bed to sleep on, workout stations, free education (alot of Pens have full libraries), no rent, no worries. Some have even pushed for free cable TV, religious content and other things that minimum wage workers can't even afford. Not only that, but even a stay of execution costs the federal governemt millions each year between legal appeals, maintainence for insitutions, and housing. The minimum stay in just about any state is at least 5 years or more... So, it's ok that people who don't think life is golden can go out and kill people, while those who're to punish him/her for doing that, have to spare them? How does that makes sense? And no, they don't have lower than average IQ, some of the greatest murderers in history were very very cunning and tactful. Some weren't even arrested. Obviously the death penalty is bad, but there are some people who won't be rehabilitated no matter what. What alternatives are there when all else fails? We could always ship them off on some remote island nation... but that idea has already been used. - Z

Really? I didn't know one was imposed... that's kinda cruel though... - Z

I'm pro-capital punishment, but only under the cir!@#$%^&*stances. Yeah, it sucks to have to be put to death... but there's always the flip-side... why is so and so being put to death... how did he kill/maim/necrophilia someone? I just don't like the fact that people who've been punished that way sometimes come up innocent. Such is to be, that if a person is put to death, the term "beyond a reasonable doubt" really needs to be just that. - Z

Just wanted the whole ex-17th line gone, and the quote line is everyone, not everybody. - Z

We owe you a good smack upside your head? When I come back, I'm going to restart Illum! - Z

Spoken like a true politician. Why don't we continue to say to our kids, "Those people are different than us, so they shouldn't be allowed to be happy. They believe in things that we don't, and that's a bad thing." People are killed because they live and think differently than others, even if said thinking doesn't hurt anyone else. College kids being killed for coming out of the closet, parents killed because they have bi-racial kids... and the Pres does his part in compounding throw back thinking, just so he looks good. There's more than enough money floating around if the government knew how to budget properly, tax cuts/breaks wouldn't be that big of deal. Marriage isn't just about tax breaks, it's a spiritual and outward expression of how you feel about someone else, be it recognized by the state or not. I feel that it's a shot to people who want to express themselves freely in that manner... this is a way for the government to say, "You're not allowed to be recognized as normal." One thing I always respected in the States was the "Persuit of happiness." As such, it's being cut again by people with religious intent to cover their own !@#$%^&*es. Why don't we go back to enforcing anti-sodomy laws between heterosexuals? - Z P.S. You can screw your "lack of morality." If those ideas are morally correct, than we're all screwed. There's more to society than numbers and dollar figures.

I don't care about quoting, but he's going one step further in enforcing what is said in the bible, using government ways, which according to my understanding is against our Cons!@#$%^&*ution. I come to think that laws are meant to protect our safety and ensure protection, how does banning a union between two private people go to futher that? Outside of saving money on taxes which married couples get, there is none... it's not the governments job to "protect out morality," that's up to each any every individual family and person. Banning what individuals can do on a daily level aside from violent acts and theft shouldn't be allowed, especially if they don't impact anyone else but those involved, in this case, the families of the two partners. "Our fathers were the models for God. If our fathers bailed, what does that tell you about God?" - Tyler Durden - Z P.S. I meant messiah as a preacher sort... but you know.

Can it be upped from 100 charaters to about... 135? I think if you're going to limit the length of sigs, at least make it retroactive too... I'd like to edit mine, but what I want to edit it to is over 100, while my current one is 152. Thanks, Your friendly neihborhood Z-Man - Z

We elected a man to run a country, we did not elect a man to speak the word of God to us. As I recall, that was the Messiahs job... and Bush is no messiah to anyone but those who he's helping to bankroll. This thread just shows how outdated and how far from reality the Bible has become in 2000 years. I once heard that even Julius Caesar was killed by Brutus because he was dumped. It's something that's around and as soon as people realize that it's a human tendancy, the better off we'd be. - Z

Goddammit! I'm pissed off now! ... ... ... Can we stone Bush? - Z

I'd like to think that the players kept at least some of the zone going... kinda pointless having sysops/staff if no one shows up (I tried it once... didn't pan out too well.) Though, that's a correct thing to say in my opinion. - Z

You're forgetting that those who voted were for a new majority (Shiites, I believe)... the same people who're causing most of the violence. (Don't care if I'm wrong on that one though.) Why would they cause violence when they got what they wanted to begin with? They'll be asending into the mists of the power they wanted. - Z

As humans, we're on this planet to explore, we've been doing this since we came about, either by the will of extraterrestrials, a higher power, or evolution... the ideas humanity fails on is the past, while we forge ahead for the future. Speaking from a personal standpoint, you will get no where focused on the past. Those who willingly believe in answers given to us, without finding out for ourselves, are the one's who'll be !@#$%^&*ed in this lifetime. Following a two thousand year old book isn't living for the future. People are smart, some people are smarter than most... The bible is and was a tool of control, it's known to cause a group mentality state among people. Go to a funeral, or a mass you'll see each and everyone repeating the same words, amost in a chant/trance-like state. Those are the people who have lost it all. Jesus wasn't any messiah, he was a carpenter, with good moral backing. A medicine man who was smarter than those of his peers. The term "25 to life" is a prison sentance given to 1st degree felons, usually of murder. Nothing more, nothing less. - Z

I remember before when Nurps and I talked about mobile flags, and when I left the 1st time, what happened when he put them in... history repeats itself? This zone is turf, the idea is base soccer... keep it that way, and the zone will prosper (maybe). Of course, you could always dig up that map HotLavaKing made, and the settings I put with it, and try a moving flag game like I was going to in a sub arena. Naturally this will involve a bit of "work" to do. In any event, movable flags in 17th have always and will continue to be a bad idea as long as the current basic base setup and ship settings are used. Change the map to fit in for a good flag/base game, or leave it be. I'm with the others when said, "Bring back KOTH!" If I remember right... I helped to lobby it in, in the first place. - Z

My step-bro has one, it's pretty cool, but leads to a bit of a neckstrain, unless you have your PS on your lap or something to that effect. One for the PS2 would be ownage. - Z

Being an Smod in this zone was tough, you're almost in the limelight as much as a sysop is... at least it seemed that way for me, since a few sysops weren't on as much as I was - Z

Never got to know ya Mav, but thanks anyways. You seemed to be one of the smarter ones around... Take care in life that's coming. - Z

As a correction, the church wasn't formed by Jesus, it was formed by his apositles. Kinda hard doing things when you're dead an all. - Z

What about from ex-staff? - Z
