xterr: i banned people too even nori lol! trip: mike already knows about it, and it wouldnt matter if he didnt. he does check in a lot more often than you think, so he knows at least a little of whats going on, especially with the upperstaff.

pernille: I already suggested to mike to let delic be hsysop, and he said no. delic: and as far as complex not being used, ur half-right. it was used for a short time, mostly as a test. but it was pulled, and not used again. its a shame really, because to concept itself could have been made into a brand new zone, or used to help 17th.

also, like i said, nothing is certain about the new hsysop or if there is going to be one. as of right now, mike is running things himself. personally, id rather see him just shut it down now so that it can finally just rest in peace instead of doing this same death-kick that its been doing for the past 2-3 years now. but its mike zone, and its his choice of course. and most of us know mike to be stubborn, so dont expect the zone to be shut down.. ever.. lol.

No. Complex was never officially used because the Hsysop at the time did not allow it. Delic has posted his suggestions for the zone for years, it was never a serious poll. Yes, but in the end, only mike's opinion matters, and mike said no. Nowhere, but like that matters. Creatix has done a lot for the zone in the past, and that counts for something. Just today he did. He did quit a while ago, but don't we all? Even I left 17th for a few months, but I came back, so this question isnt really very relevant. The players all say different things, you can never please them all. Staff doesn't tell the players what they want, it simply does what it thinks is right for the zone. Try being in charge of something like this, and your whole opinion will change because you will see what it's like.

I'm going to stop posting updates about this because nothing is certain at this time. The only certainty is that Cord and I have quit. Mike has mentioned his potential plans for the zone to me, but it's hard to say what is really going to happen at this point in time.

The zone is not shutting down. Also, Delic isn't going to be the new Head Sysop. CreatiX has been appointed that position, now that Cord and I have willingly left.

unfortunately, that would be a side effect of this, but its not my intention. delic just talks a lot of smack, id like to see him back it up now. i already know what the result will be, and thats why i dont care if he takes it or not. but if he does, itll give me something to chuckle over for a couple minutes before i delete my bookmarks to this forum.

If you people really want it, and if Delic wants it, I'll see what I can do to convince Mike. I'm sure it won't take much, as it is either this or the zone is done.

If you really think you can make a difference Delic, just let me know and I'll tell Mike to give you HSysop. And also, for those of you who think we just sat here and did little to nothing since I was put in charge, you're very wrong. But, I know it doesn't matter what I say, everyone will have their own opinions, some will be more vocal about them than others. But do keep in mind that I was put here to try to help the zone, and my ideas didn't work. So, either the zone shuts down now, or we let Delic try his ideas.

If it was as easy to do as it is to say it, someone would have figured it out by now. It's not like the Head Sysops that have been in the zone have been trying to keep it the way it is. If you have suggestions, please, share them. The zone has been in this funk for 2 years, and numerous things have been tried. Everyone always has their opinions on how to make the zone better, some very vocal. The zone was on the edge of death only months ago, when we had that 0-3 population maximum, 2 being bots. And at least now, usually at least once or twice a day, we do get a decent game going in public. There isn't much different from the zone as it is right now from what it was 2 1/2 years ago. Some will argue that point, go right ahead, because few actually know what they're talking about. If you havent noticed lately, most of the zone's javelins don't play anymore, which is part of the reason 17th is still in this funk. The javelins gave up on the zone because the zone had pushed them aside to focus on the entire zone and not just one group. The problem with these people was that they didn't care about the zone or the players as long as they had their precious jav and jav events, that's all that mattered to them. Remember when the bullets were changed in rumble to yellow? Same damage, same cost, same everything but color and sound, and these jav players flipped about it. But anyway, back to the issue at hand. If you have suggestions, please share them because a lot of ideas have been tried, a lot have been ignored. Now that may sound bad, but if a guy suggests to us something we've already tried and has already failed, it is redundant to try another persons version of the same idea. I do have a feeling that statement will draw Delic to post here, which is all good. Delic used to be most vocal about his ideas for the zone. However, most of them were just ideas that would make 17th gameplay mimic that of another zone that he played.

The only reason I'm doing this is because many zones deleted my ads while I was running KI, this being one of them, and at least I'm being polite and discussing it first.

From October 27th through November 3rd, 17th Parallel will have a special public arena for everyone to enjoy. This include new graphics, sounds, and a new event will be revealed. Pub settings are not going to be changed, nor is the map. After the week is over, pub will go back to they way it was.

If you advertise 17th Parallel in your zone/forum/etc., I will allow your WZ post to stay. Otherwise, I will remove it.

especially the ones where bots are magically missing at game time Two things: First, the bot doesnt do those messages, its in the settings. Second, there is only so much we can do to advertise events, being zone adverts, periodic messages, news, 17thparallel.com, and this forum, but it's hard to reach everyone. a lot of ppl dont even read the news or visit the site or forum. but, you do make a good point still, in that we need to do something more than we are currently doing. Two things for the fruityman too.. First: We see everything. Second: Definitely get in touch with cord and me, and we'll have a meeting with the three of us and see what we can work out. you forget that the zone is under completely different management these days. its being run by those who actually do play events and actually know whats going on in the zone. quit everything in life and spend 24 hour a day on continuum you know you wanna come back..

Funny he would say 10 !@#$%^&*ty bots, when he hasn't seen them in the first place. For someone who claimed to not care about 17th, you seem to keep popping back in every so often.

Yes. I have copies of all 17th's bots, and I have access to the server they are run on as well.

The map will go up in public, and we'll see how it last through the week. The vote to remove north came out to 13-5 (it says 12-6, but i fked my vote up lol), and this is clearly one-sided, so we'll see how it goes.

Well, the intention of this change is not to attact players with a new map. It's simply just to remove areas that aren't used. North was removed before, and things were fine. The only reason North even came back was because the map/settings had been reverted to an earlier state in which North was still a part of the map. I had decided to leave it for the sake of keeping things the way they were. I will give you one thing though.. these wasted parts are only wasted because we don't have the population for there to be much interest in North. I remember back in the day when there were huge North battles. But that was back when we had 40-60 population. And I'm not being pessimistic here, but it's not likely that we will be able to get back up to 40-60 population. I'm just being realistic. I look at population charts, I know the trends. Every zone has a dramatically lower population these days than they did years ago. And only 4-5 zones really stand out with population anymore, zone with at least 40 or more. Back when 17th had 40+, there were 8-10 zones with 40+, and a few of those with 300+ and 600+ on a daily basis. The bottom line is that ther isn't a lot of interest in this game anymore. But anyway, I'm having this vote to see if people want this change or not, instead of just putting it up in pub, then asking people if they like it. Yeh, I'm sure you're thinking, "well duh....", but history has shown that we've had people running this zone that decided to just put maps up and hope for the best, and never really testing them. So it's not really a "well duh...." situation at this point, it's just sensible.
