Oh, my post was in reply to quickspy. I agreed with most of what you said Astro. Anyway, Jews and Arabs still live in peace over much of the Middle East. Arabs are generally very good at distinguishing between Zionism and Judaism. In Iran there are huge numbers of Jews and they are not attacked because it's well known that Zionism is the enemy. If the Zionist government disbands and power in the region is shared, then there would easily be peace. Yes, there might be tensions between the populations initially, but i doubt they would last.

Even if LOSA doesn't realise it, i think she's a very selfish person. If making a big deal out of racial prejudice is too troublesome in the "short-term" then society will never learn and other people will continue to see the same racial prejudice against them. It's not about teaching the world that you personally feel hurt by racist comments, it's about teaching the world that these comments will hurt others too. We know being intolerant of racism works; we would still be using blacks as slaves if we didn't, and you LOSA wouldn't enjoy such a free lifestyle. You said yourself that you don't like the way some border guards acted. Well there are probably thousands of other people who experience the same thing, and until someone makes a big deal out of it, that will likely never change.

Zionism is a political movement that believes Jews are the only people who can own and live on the land we now call Israel. Considering that Zionism was born in the late-nineteenth to early-twentieth centuries as a response to the European anti-semitism, the founders of Israel always believed that the Arabs should be removed by any means. Whether they bought the support of the Western governments or not, their motives were clear, to remove the Arabs from their homes. Zionism was born out of racism and is an equally racist reaction to European anti-semitism. Now back to the point: The Jews don't have to leave. Jews and Arabs lived in relative harmony in Israel for hundreds if not thousands of years before Zionism came onto the scene. When this politically racist movement engulfed the region the Arabs fought against it because it sought to remove them from their land. Zionism is not Judaism. If the Zionist movement were stopped, ties could be mended between the two populations.

I think LOSA is saying that racism will always exist. I agree it will; but you have to be pretty ignorant of 20th century history to believe that being intolerant of racism won't change anything. We haven't accepted racist people in the last hundred years and look how much we've progressed. These Muslims were doing the world a favour by exposing this racial prejudice that we all know is bubbling close to the surface at this moment in history. Now, with such realisation of the nonsense of it all, change will follow.

I agree with your take. Shouting fire in a crowded theatre puts people's lives in danger. Talking about what seats are safe does not put lives in danger. So lets have some freedom of speech for the Muslims in this LOSA, they did nothing wrong with their remarks.. the people at fault are the dumbasses who reported them to the airline. Those dumbasses are also entitled to their freedom of speech, they're also entitled to a good punch in the face.

India i would respect to make a proper decision even though they are friends with the U.S. China, Japan, Russia, and much of the far east i would expect to be impartial. Much of South America, now that they're out of the pockets of the U.S. (except Colombia who the U.S. has kept for the cocaine.) Basically everywhere except the E.U. and Canada (and the Aussies)... afterall you only mentioned them because they support your view. I could say the rest of the world doesn't support labelling Hamas as terrorists. None of these countries/regions hate the U.S., they just don't have a vested interest in agreement with the U.S. If the U.S. took the opposite side then i'm sure Europe and Canada would go along with it. This is why i can't trust their terrorist definitions as anything other than an extension of the what the U.S. uses. I'm sorry if that sounds amusing to you, it's quite logical to me.

Those kinds of problems would annoy my Dad. He doesn't want external speakers because of the extra hardware and wiring, so an external mouse would be the same. Also he doesn't know much about computers so sending it off would be a chore. Reliability is key.

My Dad is wanting to buy a 17" widescreen laptop to watch DVD's and TV on. He doesn't want any external speakers so he is looking for something with high quality built in speakers. He doesn't play games so the graphics need to be suited for picture quality in watching DVDs and online TV. Obviously it also needs a high quality wireless card for the online TV. I'm most interested to know what sort of brands you would recommend and if you've had any horror stories? What brand of laptop has the worst reputation? I like Toshiba because i've had one for two years without any problems. Sony in my eyes are over-priced for what you get. Dell I don't reckon on for entertainment purposes. HP and Acer have bad reps or so i hear. Asus sounds good value for money. Fujitsu i hate because the first computer i got from them died.

Israel is always trying to destroy the Palestinian infrastructure. They are keep the Palestinians down, keeping them from forming a functioning society. They are always bombing them into the past. They are calling the Palestinians terrorists (the 21st century word for 19th century savages) but Israel is responsible for making them into savages. Israel doesn't allow them to build a functioning society, and that has to piss any group of people off. America has to cut ties with Israel until they obey international law and UN resolutions by going back to the 1967 borders. America is as corrupt as the terrorists, as corrupt as Israel until they do this. With Israel we are talking about a country that used illegal cluster bombs on civilians in Lebanon. Israel is NOT the victim in this. The Israelis treat the neighboring people's like animals, and considering how Hitler treated them, it's utter hypocrisy.

Seriously NBV, accept that you're a conservative and move on. Anyway, our society is being threatened. Evolution has proceeded over millions of years in response to our changing environment. Now that we are changing our environment at an accelerated rate we are increasing the rate of our evolution. That might seem great, but we are also determining the direction of our evolution, into what is probably a dead-end (since it is not natural evolution). The allergy epidemic is another symptom of how our body is unable to cope with such a rate of evolution, as bodily defense mechanisms based on chemical reactions are finding new chemicals to react with in the pollution and cleaning fluids we breath.

Maybe he has some left views and some right views that somehow mix into a unique position.... but then you'd still be moderate or the average of your views. I wouldn't mind an explanation.
