  1. and dcme is in constant development, so it will probably always have new small bugs related to the newest features... like eLVL had some bugs... and the LVZ feature of upcoming 3.0 will surely have lots of bugs... of course SSME isnt that buggy (it does have bugs), it can't do crap... without features, its easy to be "smooth" and "not-too-buggy" Take selection for example... one thing that slows DCME right now is the selection, because it can do so much more than SSME (and all other editors, as far as i know). The 'non-rectangular' selection, transparent or under-tiles selection, drawing in selection, etc. If you want something fast, you could use any DCME before 1.2, which has a ssme-like selection... even then I think it was still slower anyway, we boosted it up alot since then... And it's clear that you're pretty new to DCME... before 2.0, we were releasing like... an update per week. Release of 2.0 took longer because it featured eLVL, which took quite some time to code. Same for 3.0, with LVZ. After these big updates, most likely there will be frequent updates of every small bug we (or you guys) find. Also, we'll move the auto-update server to dcme.sscentral.com, which means both me and drake will be able to upload updates... for now, only Drake can upload updates for auto-update. So just set your auto-update option to Every Day and be patient
  2. uh... actually... does ssme crash as soon as you open it? like... not even open a map with it? if that is the case... SSME is definitly screwed up and we can't do anything about it... I think i've had this problem before too... could be related to registry (file !@#$%^&*ociation perhaps) Yeah, it probably needs some recoding Edit: yep... eLVL data was saved even with save as ssmecompatible ; fixed by the way, we'd need to be able to convert tileset to 8bit if we want it 'ssme-compatible' and Mage: eLVL stands for extended LVL. If you put regions in your map, that is part of eLVL data. These things are only supported by ASSS servers. BUT ssme should still be able to load these maps fine (without eLVL data of course) offset of tiles... he was probably refering to... well... i dont want to get into that, you dont have to know the whole structure of a lvl file. Read the wiki if you're interested
  3. random name should work... as long as it doesnt start with a non alphanumeric character... oh, and make sure you're changing the Player Name, not the Profile name, which has no effect on your login information and if you manage to log in using a random name, you can use ?find playername to know if a nickname is taken or not. It will say 'unknown user' if it doesnt exist, and 'last seen [...]' if it exists already. So once you found a name that is not taken, you can go back to main menu and register that name. Unless you dont care if your name is random
  4. the idea itself isnt bad. the problem is everything that is needed programming-wise to achieve it. It's far more complex than it might seem. And keeping that backward-compatibility only adds tons of limits and difficulties.
  5. is it really snow? or more like ice? snow doesnt get hard, even when its realllly cold... we usually see that kind of things when its cold, then warms up, and cold again so everything gets icy
  6. Hmmm... Wouldn't that be 61 gigabytes? that would make more sense...
  7. interesting...
  8. Yeah, that too
  9. use the patch and just open the map... should work fine 3.0 release might be available by tomorrow... gotta finish some stuff with lvz, so if my head doesn't blow up, I should be done tonight

  11. The patch here should fix that... I didn't think the instruction I used had any effect in runtime... I thought it was a debug thing... bleh. Expect an update soon

  13. right, all of 17th will be there!
  14. Some old topics keep popping up as 'having new posts' ... I never log on any other computer. Like I read the topic, then it appears read. A week later, it could appear like it has new posts, but the 'goto last unread post' brings me to the same place as the week before, and I find out I read everything in there... Does it happen to anyone else?
  15. pft, you americans are complaining for nothing... come up here in Québec, now THAT's cold

  17. After level 10, you get to beat the final boss (Polix). And if you can beat his almighty admin power, you get this: GAME OVER Next time you log in, you're back to level 1.
  18. wasnt hacking... it was weird flag reward settings... i dont remember exactly what we did though And that brick trap is nothing compared to the several traps made by some of the leetest sharks in 17th... Someone prolly has a screenshot of that
  19. angled tiles would most-likely require a total review of the lvl format, and a rebuild of all current map editors it would be cool indeed... but I doubt it will be done anytime soon
  20. Roar Negative points... hehe... try getting that (no, /*points -9999999 won't get you under 0)
