This would be a very fun feature indeed. I put all my support behind it. Still, only once a week for 1-2 hours is a good number, so it would have to stay at that.

First, dont spam all over the place adverising your map. Second, don't har!@#$%^&* players to view your map. Third, don't make alse claims that your map will become the new pub map. Note: I have not accused anyone of these things, i am just stating what not to do.

Too many events; negative effect on zone growth
The Maurauder replied to La Muerta Rosa's topic in 17th Parallel
For all of you who have simply said "all events, no pub", or "all pub, no events" i have one word: Ignorance. If you are going to make comments, make helpful ones. Don't simply whine about problems and do nothing about them. The Problem: The success of a zone depends on properly keeping the balance between playing in the public arena and having events. In my opinion, certain events are hostedc WAY too much. The most notable of these is rumble, and it is my opinion that the bot should be removed. The sole purpose of this would be that the same event would not occur many times in a row, depleting the population. On the other hand, I also think that some events should be hosted more often. These include events such as MS2, Bankrob, and others that rarely are hosted. The main problem, however is the hosting enforcement. It is trye that there are some unspoken rules that help you decide wether or not to host (Rifleman listed them above). Many times though, staff members feel like they must host or face being fired. It is a known fact that if a staff member "is not active enough in hosting events" they will be demoted or fired. Here is where the problem lies. Staff members will attempt to host, even when they know there are too few players in the public arena. The biggest step that can be taken to reduce the over-hosting of events would to remove this rule. I think that if players want an event hosted, they will ?host it. If not, they are satisfied in pub. Staff education is also somewhat lacking, new members are greatly encouraged to host, but many times can not distinguish the line between enough and too much. The Solution: Remove all bots that automatically host events from their respective arenas. If a bot is truly needed (needed: events such as Gauntlet. Not needed: events such as Rumble) it should be available, but not hosting non-stop 24 hours a day. This would not only cause less events to be hosted overall, but staff would most likely host more interesting events instead of simply advertising for a boring onet hat is hosted often. Don't get me wrong. Bots are a good thing, and i have deep respect for the bot development team, but the truth is, we rely on them too much. Upper staff, especially our current leader, pernille, should modify the rules of hosting. Instead of ER>s and Mods having to host a certain amount of events a week, they should simply be responsible for answering ?host requests. New staff should be told to answer ?hosts, and nothing more. If an ER>/Mod wishes to host an event without a ?host, they are en-*BAD WORD*-led to do so, however these occurances should be seldom. If you wish to take action and help make the zone a better place, contact us in the game. Use !Staff in pub to recieve a list of staff members and their specific responsibilities, then find an online staff member that is !@#$%^&*ociated with the area you are having trouble with. Remember, we can't do anything about probems if we do not know what you guys think. -
Likes: MS2, Bankrob, -*BAD WORD*-, SBLMulti Dislikes: Constant and repeditive hosting of javelin-only events

Hope you can get a beta out sometime soon. Btw, will it be a complimet or replacement for SSME? As much as i like SSME, it has problems saving sometimes and I don't want to have to use 2 programs to map, if this is a Tileset editor-Map editor-LVZ placer all in one, it would be the #2 download on ssdownloads.com within a day (second only to the ctm client itself).

He means being able to alter screen layout, aka making energy bar possibly at side of screen, help and player list box in other areas, and such maybe.

These "tiles" as you say are probably not meant to be tiles at all, but rather in game object instances. I make this conjeture mostly from the brick ones. The objects you came across can be used as tiles, yes, but I believe that at least modt of them are actual instances that appear in the game on certain occasions. For example, the enemy and team bricks are most likely the actual brick objects. When F4 is pressed in game, an instance of them is temporarily created across the tiles in that area.

lol... hate to be the guy in the first crane truck, how embarssing that would be, and that chump in the red shirt on the dock edge was probably yelling "Ha Ha! Loser!"

Those settings will be in place as soon as we find a widely accepted map to go with them. I myself have created one that will be avaiilavle in a week or two. You'll know when you see it. Just so you all know, we have been working on new map/settings/graphics for a while now, and it is all beginning to come together. Just be patient and appreciative, Things will soon be different.

1) Most people won't want to fool with installing VS to play CTM. (Stated above) 2) Simply modding another game will be considered lame by most. 3) Running off other programs not designed specifically for what you are doing can cause many problems. 4) I installed VS to see how it ran on my computer, it was "As slow as mol!@#$%^&*es going uphill on a cold day." I have a mid-range video card and processor. If it runs this slow on my computer, i don't want to even think about how it will run on peoples with slower processors and older video cards.

I personally believe 17th should stay only 2 frequencies. It has always been the point of the zone to have two teams fighting against eachother. Having multiple frequencies detracts from the main gameplay objectives such as soccer. If i want to play on one of about 50 teams, then i would go somewhere else. The fact is, I don't. Having only 2 teams is one of the main reasons 17th is my favorite zone.

I do not wish to be rude, but nobody really cares...

rather off topic, but i had an idea of making a vietnam-style pub map, and it was shot down... meh

Try a lower resolution, start at the top (512 X 384 X 12) and work down the list. Use the one closest to the bottom that is viewable for best performance. To change resolution of game, open the program to the zone select screen and find "Resolution" at the top of the screen, then follow the procedure above.

Ill agree the storylines of the last 4 FFs released in the us were lacking, but its kinda hard to stack up against 7 isnt it? Anyways, the graphics in 9 were ahead of its time, and although it was a bit (understatement) odd when it came to the plot, i believed it was a good game overall. Yes, i somewhat agree that 8 through 10-2 (Barf) weren't terrific in every way, but they are still good games. As for 12, i have mixed feelings. It is rather lame that they are using the same setting as FF Tactics Advance, but at least the characters are different . The cinematic scenes and in-game graphics i have seen so far have been superior to anything out there. We will just have to wait and see.

I have played it and i t seems very cool so far, but onet hing that would make it better would be using the mouse to control direction, and using arrows for foreward/backward thurst and roll to side controls.

For those that want it bad enough.
