Too many events; negative effect on zone growth
BeWaRe replied to La Muerta Rosa's topic in 17th Parallel
Then another player comes in, sees all the people in spec, and sits there too....and the process repeats over and over. Sitting in spec because there are only a few people playing just causes others to join spec as well. Eventually, someone will get in and play, and others will follow. Stay on when theres only a few people in the zone late at night and you'll see what Im saying. -
*Coughatsamasdirection* Maybe that can be implemented if we ever switch to ASSS.

I trained my dog to attack my sister with non-verbal signals. He's little. White with black spots, like Delic's head.

3:GhettoSmurf> anyone here know how to figure out a budget for a government plan to reduce resident Canada goose populations?

Too many events; negative effect on zone growth

Event popularity is determined partly on who hosts the most. If ER>suchandsuch likes sblball and likes to host it, people will play it a few times, like it, and request it every other second. Thats happened most recently to !@#$%^&*, sblball, and dodgeball. -
Untill Freakin starts bricking the exit to safe right before the last goal is scored.

SNOo gave Texas_Star the name Tex. Tex is a dork. SNOo takes it back with ?lostp!@#$%^&*word. Texas_Star leaves and cant get back on his name, so he uses ?help and yells. Tex goes to ?go texsucks, and Texas_Star comes in, along with most of pub. Blahhhh, bl-blaaah, blahh.

Hypothetically? Exactly. It doesn't work like that in the first place. Scorebot goes down, theres MavBot. Rumble, Bumble. The other bots can copy themselves and be re!@#$%^&*igned to do the jobs of other bots. There's a bot that sits alone in its little hut waiting for someone to come in and tell it to create other bots. Pull the tail off a lizard, it grows a new one. No new bots are being made until The Mike says so. !spawn -
Well said. If 3 people request an advert for rumble, and you put in one for javwar, the rumble is going to be advertised. You can't see when people request events, we can. Putting crap like this on the forums isn't doing anything but making you look even worse. Nobody is going to stop requesting rumble adverts, and none of staff is going to stop responding to them.

I'm a !@#$%^&*? I don't go around making unneeded, biased polls about you based on half-!@#$%^&*ed information.

[Dec 04 22:33] Tex: Look, we have to talk about what we are really mad about to get over this. So when you are on, or if i am on, lets talk. You're the one that posted a negative post about staff on the forums, so you can finish it here as well. This is the complain topic, so complain away.

So what you're doing is mature? I also didn't know that being in a squad chat keeps him from doing the job he was hired for efficiently. The application doesn't say to wait until you feel it has been long enough for us to make a decision. It says NOT to ask staff about your application. Period. If you are considered, you will be contacted. I don't care how long it had been since you applied, you came to me and asked when you were going to be hired, and that you filled out an application. I told you to send me an email about yourself (that all ER's, new applicants and pre-existing must send), and I wasn't impressed at all with what I received. Statements like "I skipped some question cause I don't feel like doing them" should never be put on an application for any kind of job anywhere. It doesn't matter if it's already on your previous application, all of the other ER's wrote what they were asked to write with no s!@#$%^&*, even though they had done so before. Notice how they have a job. Paladin knew nothing about 17th when he first came? Of course not. Im guessing you knew how every event was run, and knew all the staff when you first joined the zone too, right? Read what you type before you submit it. You know not one single thing about him or his background, nor do you know by what criteria I hire refs. Don't argue about things that you know nothing of. Some people are taken off staff due to computer or internet problems, or any other number of things out of their control. Like I said before, don't argue about things that you know nothing of. Kid, I DON'T KNOW YOU! What first impression did you show me, Tex? "Yeah I know it says not to bother you, but its been a while and its been on my mind..blah blah...ok, Ill go talk to Kyla then" Do you think that bugging all the rest of staff is going to make someone want to hire you? You are seriously in the wrong there, buddy. I don't wake up in the morning and go, "Gee, I think I'm gonna start hating some random kid from 17th today! " You have to give someone a reason to not like you.

You know, you can't be a disgruntled ex-employee when you weren't hired to begin with.

Ok, since you wanna fight.. The 12 year old of which you speak can follow simple directions, unlike some people that apply for staff and constantly bug upperstaff about when theyre gonna be hired, even though it says in plain english on the application not to. Who is going to hire someone that doesn't follow simple directions from the start? Would you read a job application in real life that says "Please PRINT in either BLUE or BLACK INK" and fill it out in cursive with a red colored pencil? ER>Paladin hosts and does his job well. One of his first hosts was lancer, an event that most people dont even know about. Every single person in pub came to that event and most played. Dont give me any "it killed pub" crap; there were at least 8 vs 8 when he adverted. Do you know why these people quit staff? No, you don't. Do you know why they were fired? No, you don't. Do you know the reason why said people were rehired? Again, you don't. What's your problem, anyways? Are you still mad because you weren't hired? Go ahead and let your rage out now, because you've just shown everyone the reason why you aren't staff.

...? What are you talking about? There are certain people that run the bots on their computers, or computers didicated to that task. If that computer goes down, so do all the bots that were being run on that computer. Thats why when you see rumble bot down, duel bot is gona too. Another person has to load a replacement for it until the other hoster fixes the prob. The bots in pub have their purposes...just because you dont see them work doesn't mean they arent. Ask any of the players in pub what should be changed on the current ships and they'll pick the ship they like the most, make it better, and make all the other ships weak to that one. If the settings change, more people will leave. You can't please everyone. I'm here 26/7, and I see who hosts and who doesn't. If someone tries to host and help out when they can, they are in no risk of being fired. However, if there are 40 people in pub, and someone ?hosts, only to have the 4 or so ER's on that are chatting away in staff chat get quiet, that stuff is noted. Also, part of what kills pub is the people that leave when they see an advert go to the arena and sit in spec. You'll have 10 people playing javwar, and 23 people sitting in spec arguing over which one of them or their squads is better. -
I hate when people suck up. I luv Cokey.
