Very bitter. Also, I'll throw in a quip from MineGoBoom: "WTF? PLAY ON THE PC, BITCH!" (Originally directed at the now-defunct Starcraft:Ghost.) Insane coder, don't waste time on XBLA junkyard, Moore no longer work for MS/Xbox. No one will discover you/give you big push/et cetera in there. Game industry isn't really all that hoot, and you'll just end up being an apprentice coder on some lame failed console quick cash milker car race game or something that you'd likely not get very enthusiastic about. If you really want to make your own games, then go at that, and don't try to get in the industry/onto some established big namer/studio brand (like EA, Sony...where creativity goes to die), especially not through XBLA junk (try the IGF/GDC first, instead, they have better channels for promoting indies). And if you really want into the industry, start shopping (whoring) yourself out to any games company that's looking to hire entry level programmers. Though, I'd say you've already broken onto the game industry. You've made a game and got it published. So screw them all, you're out there! Good luck, you meshuganeh bytepusher! P.S. Wait, I didn't argue the title name, yet! Post Post-Scriptum I just recalled Rumble In The Void...Oh, My, Vint Cerf! And yeah, them ATMOS guys did excellent job on EV:Nova. I must've played that game for a month or something. The thirdparty editing tool albeit primitive, but you could do a lot of nice things with that engine.

http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=18484&st=40 Fun read. So, from those who participated in the past, how much was truth, how much was bull, and how does SS and the SSC stand today in regards to then? Was/Is there an improvement, or does the death-knell decline continues without anything being done?

Playing Dungeons & Dragons Online. It's awesome.

Always some lamers who somehow land a VC manage to "steal" your gamedesign, make it utterly dumbed down for the retarded consoliers and thenscrew it up completely and release it with tenth of the scope you hadplanned and none of the skill. Not to mention that this is a derivative of Silent Death, SubSpace, Stellar Frontier and quite a few others I can think of. Too bad the indie SS-like projects I've seen come and go didn't do it first, because they would've probably been better than this mindless quick-cash-reaper clone.

Oh dear...VIE Jackpot, VIE Running Zone, VIE Sheep Cloning Facility, VIE Powerball, VIE Philosophy Club, VIE Warzone, VIE Chaos East, SSCX Extreme Games, WLI Annihilation, SSCU Chaos Expert, SSCX Powerball, SSCX Warzone, SSCX SCF, SSCX Star Warzone, SSCE Euro League, SSCU Pro League, SSCE Chaos West, RiSC Star Wars, XXX-Ream, StarTrek DS9, SSCU Dueling Arizona, that controversial Halo zone...so many more indie zones that come and gone...AntiFro, AG3NT OR4NGE, XDOOM, DarkRider, Larkins...so many people's private zones... I believe most of the people I've been involved with in any of those zones no longer play the game (e.g. rx7, hydro, mongoose, NfoCipher, LLcoolJ). The people are the ones who remember you and your work, thereby, this becomes moot.

You have come long way with the models, kudos.

As stated, there was no back story. Nor was supposed to be one much, really. Rod was tinkering with alien back-settings at the time which inspired Juan to include the alien mothership to signify the alien presence. Since SubSpace was rushed to retail to save the bankrupting VIE it never came to full maturity and was not integrated properly, or rather, omitted in its entirety. The Shark was supposed to be an alien-driven ship design, originally.

Hmm, sounds familiar...

Because powermongering control freaks need to maintain the illusion that bad nasty !@#$%^&* will happen unless they're in dictatorship under their own thumb's strict control. To achieve this, they must spread and maintain paranoia. By making themselves an elitist bunch of a closed club clique BS they make their club a highly sought-after one with more prestige and higher label. Think about it this way: Would you prefer to goto a pub where mudnane people meet and anyone is invited or would you want to get into that pub where snobbish rich celebs goto (as if they're actually any better or smarter than you are - no they're not) and only listed names may enter? It's a very old trick.

Subspace recently mentioned on xboxic

Fail. Some people like to form analogy to SubSpace on many things (much of it thanks to newbie zones), however, there are many hidden principles at the core of SubSpace which made it what it was and they are unable to grasp these design lines. Failing at that, the result is nothing alike, similar or familiar. Tossing a bunch of ships-esque gfx on your screen from top down is not SubSpace. That'd be akin to calling any movie with a robot totting guns in it a Terminator. Going onto further scrutiny, this guy (Jeff Goddard) had worked on some few !@#$%^&*ty games (your usual TV/movie license POSers) that no one cared for and this mentioning of SubSpace is obviously a poor man's attempt at trying to draw in an already established crowd to his game. I seriously don't see the idea here; certainly, there'll always be suckers to be found around but how are you expecting a game which fanbase is PC and the game is free to pay for a console game? Just doesn't add up. What kind of niche fanbase are they hoping and opting to capture here? Maybe the xbox arcade losers, IDK how many of these there are. Eitherway, a total complete POS and from the actual game's descriptions this isn't anywhere near SubSpace. Well, maybe it's like EG or T3G or something, but definitely not good SVS or anything half decent, !@#$%^&* even EG would be better (well, the 98' EG). -

Has nothing to do with you being a religious person. Has to do with you being a FANATIC on the verge of extremism with that religion. I haven't tolerance for illogical psychotic freaks. I like decent people, and they like me too. Linus mighty, I haven't a clue how I lived without linux before. Why, why on Earth why, are people made to use windows? Everyone should grow up using *nix since day #1 on a PC.

Eat onions and die, !@#$%^&*er. Law suit for wasting 15 seconds of my life. Compensation demanded in the amount of 2 year UO subscription.

I never shared love for Syrus. But since you took care to mouth up at me in that other thread I dislike you just as well JDS, rot in warn!@#$%^&*.

One down. Five to go.

Dav, people already created a SubSpace user/page or more than one several years back when Myspace was created. We haven't seen that producing any yield. And again, the entire thread is about Myspace looking to make their own pogo.com (if anyone remember that re!@#$%^&*ed place that EA Online bought) which is not something that we can mount SubSpace on. So, once more: moot!

I haven't been wasting my life playing this game for 10 years. I don't care what for what you have to say either. It's spelled "no one" or "none" not "noone"; if any then "noon" but that's a different meaning. You have cancer. Putting a plus in your name only makes you a bragging wannabe power mongering newb. I can do better and I had done better and sometimes continue to do better. None would care if you get wiped off the face of the Earth as well...lead me by example. Positive quote of the day: Gentoo is awesome! Go linux!

I wouldn't make fun of Toivo; he resembles some mad irish football fan that'd stab you in the bar because you made a crack on his favorite team. Ott is scary too. And Tauno has the scheming satanical face of a BOFH. He's evil, I tell you, eeeeevil! If I was Priit, I'd go after laying that Kai Liiva, call it office perks.

I know that SVS quit newblet, much as is syped no longer on staff, point being that they were there on the first place whereas those types shouldn't have anywhere near access to adminsitrative capaibilities over other users at all, ever. Meaning the staff vetting filter service is on the face. And you're stupid. Facebook is rumored to be better than myspace...IDK...I find the other networking thing re!@#$%^&*ed to the core. Your own website beats a tiny gayocities crapspace. And if you want to network, then !@#$%^&*ing network. Like any of us are missing forums or communities to find others on? Go register on Jew-Date, LoL. And anyway, the thing myspace is going to run is entirely different from their regular service and is not something facebook is offering (AFAIK) or intending to so facebook is not even an issue. And moreover, the thing myspace is going to run is entirely different from our game so the entire point is moot. Their idea is to make you play !@#$%^&*ty browser games while they run advertisement banners on the side...ancient !@#$%^&* that crashed the dot com back in 98-Y2K and hasn't been profitable ever since except perhaps to Google for some who-knows-why godforsaken reason. One day advertisers wake up and realize that search engines, even google, aren't the endgame and the entire scheme will drop dead in the water on the spot.
