Well it would appear he's learned... like a year ago. Yeah yeah... I'm an !@#$%^&* (but Chambahs is still a !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*).
-
Nah, I wouldn't bash Priit, because I know he is at least capable of doing that stuff. You on the other hand HAVE taken credit for other peoples work and get all butthurt when I call you out on doing so. Remember this: 5:Chambahs> im too stubborn to just give away my hard work 70 C 5:Chambahs> nobody can think of what i thought of 73 C 5:Chambahs> its so unique, nobody thought of it Yeah, you certainly give credit where it's due. (Interesting tidbit here... I found this log a lot easier than I expected. Turns out naming it "toolbox.txt" was a good idea. If you want to read it, the link is right here) I will admit that it was my mistake for missing the new subgame devs, but I've not followed Chambah's dumb!@#$%^&*ery lately as he's no longer on any of my chats. Although, I'm not entirely sure why you'd switch away from ASSS other than the whole you not being a programmer and without smong doing your work for you, you had no other way of maintaining the server... but yeah. Regarding the article: Despite how much I hate Chambahs, it was a smart move for Polix to mention Unreal Tournament instead of the other, arguably better, zones. People who read that article are likely gamers and have probably heard of UT. Anyone even slightly interested would certainly jump at the opportunity to see an alternate implementation of their favorite game (Likewise, Halo would have been another good candidate). The article in itself was cool and it's good that this game is getting publicity. But holy christ... I shouldn't be able to tell how hard someone's !@#$%^&* is by reading internet text about a friggen 10 year old 2d spaceship game. Seriously Chambahs, you're getting all puffed up over something that you are hardly responsible for. Don't you see how silly that is? If not, feel free to read this a few more times, because I'm too lazy to type more mean words at you. Note: Yes I know the article/interview was written a while ago, but I had no way of stating this knowledge without breaking the already horrible flow of my eAngry-text.

Ugh... I cringe every time I see you taking full credit for what is largely smong's (and other's) hard work.

Ugh. "Hoster" is NOT A WORD. It's just "Host."

They are the same person.

The zone could use more people, but the problem is that good people are hard to find. In most zones, abusing only meant displaying the absolute power moderator-status gave you (which is very noticeable). Here, abuse can be made a lot less visible and can have a much larger impact on the zone (self ?grant, ?flaginfo, etc). They could easily hire people left and right, but finding people who won't eventually abuse for the !@#$%^&* of it is hard. We basically need someone who doesn't care about the zone enough to abuse and at that point, they probably won't be very useful.
-
Indeed. The only stats with a very visible difference are energy (for obvious reason) and recharge (because it's got such a huge range). Mobility stats are rather low -- mostly to prevent the supership setups from last reset.
-
If anyone should have died of a heart failure, it should have been you for asking that.
-
I wouldn't say squads are useless... but they seem to be in low numbers at the moment.
-
(1) This needs to replace the pub flag game. like nao. (2) This scoring system is good, but I'd prefer to see something that more represents a tug-o-war game rather than a race. But, again, this is greatly superior to the existing pub setup.
-
Oh, lawl. Yeah, I wasn't reading it too carefully. Regardless, I don't think that's how it works.
-
Your math is off and your theory is even more off. You sir, fail. Energy is in "amount recharged per 10 seconds". Which means 1530 recharge nets you 153 every second. That's a whole lot better than 5. Also, the rest of your post is mostly banter and is the complete opposite of how the zone actually works.
-
Regarding stats: One problem that MG had as well is that the support ship(s) (in this case, the lanc) aren't really geared towards fighting or flagging, so they tend to get hosed in the stats department. On subgame I basically declared them SOL, since any stat that would apply to them would be near impossible to implement; but since we're on ASSS, maybe we could come up with a way to give them their own stats?

Bricks need to be nerfed somehow. I imagine the same goes for pub, but considering that time is much more important in FC, bricks are uber. My suggestion would be an anti-brick field (if one doesn't already exist). Bricking while inside is either disabled completely, randomly scattered about or has a chance of firing for a random team. Slightly off topic: To elaborate on the anti-brick-field (which will be called Brick Disruptor from here out): The field would have the following effect: -When an enemy brick is dropped inside the field, one of the 3 following effects happen randomly: 1. The brick is negated entirely; never appears, but the item is "used" 2. The brick is scattered randomly around the field, retaining the number of actual tiles. 3. The brick is randomly !@#$%^&*igned to a new team (out of the pool of active teams). Advantages: - Negating an enemy brick would be clutch - Converting an enemy brick to your team's for free is also quite handy. - Even if the brick is converted to a freq other than your own, there is a strong possibility your enemy won't be able to get passed it either. Disadvantages: - Brick scatter could cause a very epic brick-warp through walls. Thoughts?

What about squads that play in zones other than HS (that is, those that play both in HS as well as another zone)?

Ugh... every time I read this thread, it becomes more stupid and the idea even more pointless. The !@#$%^&*? Ok, let's recap so you guys can correct me if I'm wrong anywhere: - Thanks to the actions taken by various people, the forums require registration to even read, meaning the "public" area is now doubly pointless. - The forums purpose is to help cross-zone collaboration, and will not have super sensitive stuffs but still needs to be private for some other silly reason. - SSForum won't be used because of some bull!@#$%^&* political pissing match. - Ace is about as good with words as Losa is with parenting (and he's representing the SSC in some capacity. !@#$%^&*ing epic). - Knight needs responding to. Starting from the top: I know I've said this countless times, but jesus !@#$%^&* the people who need to understand this never do: The public portion of your forums are !@#$%^&*ING POINTLESS and, sadly, the entire grounds for this thread. Let's just accept the fact that it's a bonus feature and not focus on it's existence. Ever. From what I understand from Ace and Mistar Gokuuuuuuu, the private sector will largely exist so the people in the super secret all-boys club (lawl) have a place to talk about issues that are sensitive, but not super sensitive. This basically means jolly jack !@#$%^&*, since most sysops have nothing worth talking about that needs to stay public -- and you can !@#$%^&*in quote me on that. {Edit: That last public should be private. kekekeke ^_^} On top of that, the bit brain mentioned is hardly getting the attention it deserves: You guys are excluding the people who would likely help you out the most: Developers. Do you honestly think the average sysop is both knowledgeable and active enough to not only SEE cheaters but figure out how they're doing what they're doing? How many can setup bots/modules/sites/etc. to run the events you guys are planning? How many can do ANYTHING aside from brainstorming and sharing ban lists? Since I'm amazing at coming up with metaphors: The people you are including by default are basically project managers. Have fun getting !@#$%^&* accomplished if you keep excluding guys like Thunderjam who are willing to be party to this and have the talent. Also, gg breaking your own rules by including ePals who don't fit the bill. Nothing says "professional" like excluding the most qualified in favor of the least. This is really getting on my nerves. You guys don't need uber god powers over the entire forums to be effective. Ideally, there should be a private forum setup here that you guys have full moderator l33tness over. What more could you possibly need out of the forums that it's worth splitting the community (even at a private level)? For your own good Ace (and the good of the SSC), shut the !@#$%^&* up. Thank you. I agree 100% with your bit on cheating -- especially if said cheat is relatively easy to accomplish. This is probably the best reason to have a private sector in the first place. However, I don't agree with the planning part. I've found that if you start discussing a plan publicly, you can get public opinion as you build up so you can gauge whether or not it will be accepted or if you'll need to make changes before you get too far along. The general public plays this game far more than we do; to completely exclude them from development planning (at ANY level) is re!@#$%^&*ed. Now, as far as your bit about how I respond to most things: What is there to fix here? Everything I have and would suggest to them has and would be shot down due to political garbage. In most cases like this, the !@#$%^&*gots in charge would much rather saw off their own thumbs than give up any hint of power to make something work -- even if it would improve every !@#$%^&*ing aspect of their plan. Also, I'm an !@#$%^&*hole. But since you asked, here's what I'd do: Perma-silence Ace, ditch the off-site forums, create a private forum here that is accessible to those in the group and even setup someone so they are able to administer the group and moderate the forum. Holy !@#$%^&*! It's the same !@#$%^&*ing setup, except your public forum is already populated and exists and there's no power struggle. If there's something I'm missing, feel free to explain to me how using these forums is a bad thing . That said... !@#$%^&* you guys. I'm out.

So when I open SSC* ASSS Module Test Zone, my owner, lead developer (dev sysop), bang administrator (ban sysop) and director of public relations (pr sysop), should all get access, right? If all it takes is a zone on SSC billing, then it's once again back to being a popularity contest -- getting SSC billing is either terribly difficult or overly simplistic, depending on how you go about getting it (proxy access through an authorized server ftw). Not only that, but incredibly easy to abuse. But, this all tends to not matter if all it is is a cross-zone collaboration tool. However if that's the case, then there's really no reason to keep it private.

@Hakuku: Lol, good reply. Made me laugh. @Everyone else: Out of context this looks just like random flaming, but it's actually a thread I'm using to reinforce a point I made in the other thread this one is clearly pariodiyagfahsg. So, don't take this thread or anything else stated in it too seriously -- I'm not going to.

This whole discussion just seems incredibly silly. For starters, you've got a public forum which the public could give a !@#$%^&* about. Then, discussion of that failing, this super-leet private forum gets brought up. As I brushed over last time, this just looks like some power flaunting. Example: [armchair psychologist rant]The problem here is how much emphasis is put on the fact that there is a rift between non-members and SSC members (and how often it's mentioned). You can see in this post how Ace feels about the forums and the community in general -- there are separatist labels on virtually everything describing this. How do you think a community of unstable !@#$%^&*heads is going to react when they're basically being told that they are just now being deemed worthy enough to speak to the almighty SSC members by joining their super-leet off-site board? !@#$%^&*, even the most dense of the community is going to pick up on this at!@#$%^&*ude with the amount of times it's revisited in this thread. Don't agree? Well then, feel free to react to this thread: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=20616 [/rant] Also, Ace: Lately I've gotten the feeling that you're turning into another D+. Please prove me wrong on this.
