Hmm I wonder where I went wrong, I couldn't get it to compile for 64 bit correctly to run Continuum, oh well.

If discretion came out offically, I would play again. I just wine doesn't work for 64bit systems when you try to run Continuum, at least not the last time I tried. I would hate to have to boot up Windows 7 just to play. The only reason I use a 64bit version of Linux is because I can access all my memory, 32bit just doesn't fit my needs.

Windows mobile will obviously have the ability to use MS Office. I would recommend android though. I have an HTC Phone which has numerous restrictions and the Windows mobile 6.5 on it freezes a lot. With the anroid you can make your own apps. There is a lot more freedom, and I'm sure there is some way of viewing/editing ms office docs. Open Office does run on java, and Android uses a version of Java, so something should be out there. As far as email, I have gmail. My windows mobile phone connects to gmail, but I'm pretty sure a google phone running android would connect to gmail as well, so... Window I would not suggest the HTC brand or windows mobile.

Just put a server in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. That would solve all our problems.

"Application cannot access the restricted API" when I try just running the JAD. Downloading the midlet manager and seeings what all that does. HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T) Windows Mobile 6.5 More Java restrictions than features I'm afraid.

47% of US Households Don't Pay Income Tax
BDwinsAlt replied to Aileron's topic in General Discussion
Pell grants are given out to students in America to help pay for college and sometimes bills. I agree, students don't have to worry as much about taxes. A lot of places around the university areas offer student discounts anyway, which is usually 10%, where 9% is sales tax in Alabama. So basically they don't pay the tax and save 1%. Although they do pay the tax in reality, but the item is cheaper. -
I want to see if it will run on my HTC Tilt2 because it has several Java restrictions. Send it my way and I will beta for the HTC party.

47% of US Households Don't Pay Income Tax

Not many rich people shop at Thrift Stores. Maybe have a lower tax rate for Thrift Stores. Aren't people on welfare that get food stamps tax exempt? -
I don't know about your school, but around here it's more of who smokes weed at school or waits until they get home...

47% of US Households Don't Pay Income Tax
BDwinsAlt replied to Aileron's topic in General Discussion
Back to the real topic, people not paying taxes... Everyone pays taxes when they buy food, clothes, and pay for utilities. You are taxed with the money you earn, but even earning it requires taxes. So not only do they take money out before you get your money, they also take it out when you buy things. I can kind of understand why people feel they shouldn't have to pay taxes on their income. I mean should you really have to pay to work? It wasn't always like that. Congress used to not be able to impose taxes on income. I agree it is necessary for our type of economy, but that doesn't mean it makes sense to do. If almost half the American people aren't paying taxes on income, why not just make some federal tax that goes on everything you buy. When you go to the mall and buy a shirt, tack on 2% tax or something. They tax oil, cell phone services, and misc random things... why not everything. Then even illegal immigrants would be forced into paying federal taxes because all the food, clothes, and baby products would be taxed, thus avoiding people not paying taxes because they are paid under the table or don't want to pay them. Now this may not be the best solution, but something like this could help. EDIT: English fail -
Wow I just realized something. The chat client I made in Java (JVM for Windows Mobile was used) is also named subspace mobile but shortened to ssmobile. Oh well, I never released it to anyone so go ahead. It would be nice to have a native java client, but I ran into restrictions on my phone when trying to develop with the micro edition. HTC phones won't be able to use this client and any other brand that is nazi about applications and networking will do the same. There is an easy hack with bitpim for LG phones, but I'm pretty sure HTC is hopeless. Good luck.

http://www.beersteak.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/ipad-pads-500x457.jpg I think the iPad looks cool, and might be fun to use. I don't really think we need it. My laptop costs about the same amount and it does a lot more. It looks like one of those digital alarm things that also shows how much energy you use and lets you turn off your lights and stuff. Maybe there's a app for that, who knows. iPad > netbook though. Netbooks are a step backward for technology. Stick to your laptops and iPhones
