Can someone explain the base duel commands? I would like to learn BD. I understand the part of choosing a freq 50-60 or a private freq but don't understand the command formats. !ch = challenge but then the rest ( 5b2 ) etc loses me. many thanks

Think it is obvious. Just a way to award members for the things they do with some recognition. Maybe nothing special, but something none the less. Might find something better in the near future.

I have installed a "pirated" version of the Tutorials app for us to test out and see if it is worth further investment. My plan/idea for the app long ago was to turn it into a central FAQ/Help section for the game. An addition to the Technical Support forum where newbs and current players alike could go for information and help. There is also the ability for posts to be turned into Tutorials with a single click, many more categories if needed, and even Zones could have their own sections/categories if wanted. Look at it, and lemme know what you guys think.

Don't know where this should be posted so ill post it here. I'm looking for a host to get DS back online. I miss playing it and I know others do too so I want to get it back up. I have all the files I just need to get it all reorganized. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I've been disconnected from the community for a bit so I'm not sure who is doing reliable hosting now. Thanks guys.

i believe these are private files you could have asked jowie for them personally in any case, these are pretty old, and have since been rewritten by both jowie and myself however, mine is part of an unreleased fake player platform, which is far more powerful

Have added a Twitter feed app to the forums also. Will allow me to post forum updates to twitter, and in time even feed from other twitter accounts like EG's. Hopefully will allow me to better communicate what is going on around here.

Can now only quote a selection of the post, rather than quoting the entire thing and editing it out. Or just quoting the entire thing when meaning to only quote a partial. Just highlight the text you want to quote, and then click the "Selective Quote" button. Example And again It does seem to fail after posting from quick reply though. Gonna post that bug on the support thread.

so things have been looking pretty bad lately ive had to sit and watch zone after zone get infested with cancer and die. the development forums for ss died about a year ago, and have literally not received a single post for 2 months. the development team for the biggest zone is now dead, and is led by someone actively driving away developers. 3 large ssc hosts have shut down in the last year. mavericks statistics pages have the death of this game slated for some time in 2016: and thats just with a continued linear decay, which is extremely unlikely. personally, i expect an inverse exponential decay near the end, when people start quitting because n…

This past Master of Chaos saw a high level of teaming. We've seen teaming before a number of times; teaming in which one of the teamers ended up champion, as occurred this time. We've also seen teaming where players colluded for a while to eliminate certain people. In fact, that sort of teaming in response to the targeted player teaming in the previous MoC -- as a sort of revenge. The unwritten laws of chaos playing out as they do on a daily basis. The version of Wine that openSUSE 12.1 offers in its repositories does not accept the kernel32.dll.so I had been using for a year or two. That one I manually built myself compiling Wine from scratch with varying degrees of ignorance difficulty, and Continuum ran well as long as I kept it mostly isolated from other programs (basically just put Continuum in its own wine prefix.) Without the patch Continuum will spin in the background and do nothing. Ok, so I understand the idea is that if the zone appears more populated people will come. However, if they come based on population and see all the players are in EG:0 don't you think they will go to EG:0? I don't see how this is supposed to help the zone in any way.
