Guest winipcfg Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 I read someone's thread (don't remember whose, but I was referred here by Kolar in the TW Forums) and followed the instructions for setting up Continuum on a system running XP SP2, but it didn't work. The instructions dealt mainly with firewalls, but I don't think this problem is a firewall problem. I tried both methods - neither of them worked. Here are my system specs (as best as I know): -Dell Inspiron 1150-2.8 GHz Celeron Processor-512 MB RAM (not sure what type)-Windows XP, largely unmodified (I just got the comp today) I haven't tried running it on my PC that used to have SP2. When I installed SP2 on that system too many drivers failed and several programs didn't work, so I uninstalled it immediately. If there are any needed system specs, let me know. I'm running McAfee Firewall (which I disabled) and Webroot Spy Sweeper (which was also disabled) in addition to the combined Windows Firewall. Essentially, what happens is after installing Continuum successfully, I run Continuum for the first time and nothing happens - nothing is displayed other than the hourgl!@#$%^&* by the cursor. So after doing this several times, I checked the System Processes using Ctrl + Alt + Del and saw the Continuum.exe was running, but the hourgl!@#$%^&* would only appear. When I rebooted my comp (because I can't end the process - it just reappears, and it doesn't ever stop) something error message comes up but it closes too fast for me to read it. If you guys need more information, lemme know - I'll help you out as best as I can, but that's all that I can't think of right now. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Ryo-ohki Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 I had the same problemhttp://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=6256 But I can run it in one way... It doesn't save it's data.Run it by right-clicking Continuum, select Run as..., then click ok
Guest Guest Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 I saw that thread and tried doing the various things mentioned there but none of those things worked either.
