No_Remorse Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 Nope, Captain Harloch was the original leader of the SS Council, creator of Star Warzone, and owner of Zeta-Squadron but he retired long ago. Women are like Elephants. I like to watch them, but I wouldn't want to own one.
Lone Outlaw Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Harlock i've seen the series. Has very good music too. Perhaps a motivation for his name. K-c-B Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 Thank you for that, takes me back. Now for some zones that I miss: -Star Warzone-SCF West-VIE Chaos East-Sub-Icide-South Park Zone South Park was my very first zone. What ever happened to The $niper and Ghostz? I'm really digging into my memory bank here, but last I knew they met in real life and then I think got married.
K-c-B Posted April 23, 2013 Report Posted April 23, 2013 A small group consisting of old members from Modus and myself attempt to revive ASWZ about every half year or so. We drum up enough interest to have 5-8 people show up a few Sundays in a row and then it dies off again As a dumb 14 year-old kid I wrote for Sheep Cloning for all of about a week until Silent Dragon removed me.
No_Remorse Posted September 16 Author Report Posted September 16 (edited) I would love to hear from some of my old friends on here, so I'm reviving this topic. I'm sure we can all agree that this game holds a special place in our hearts. Although we can never really get that feeling again of playing this beautiful game in it's heyday, we can share some nostalgic memories/pictures/websites of our glory days. It would be cool to see some old screenshots or subspace/continuum websites, but I would love to hear about your in-game stories, which zones you played in, why you left, or perhaps why you came back to check in. I look forward to seeing what comes out of this and who's still out there. ❤️: Some subspace history: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/The_History_of_Trench_Wars/Pre-HistorySt Screenshot from the best zone of all time, Star Warzone screensh2344ot6.bmp Edited September 16 by No_Remorse Women are like Elephants. Fenix Posted September 20 Report Posted September 20 Here are some historic images: the splash screens from all of the old versions of SubSpace that were preserved on SSDL. Starting in version 125, the splash screen was replaced with the interactive GUI. v40.bmp v87-v98.bmp v107.bmp v108-v110.bmp v111-v116.bmp v117-v118.bmp v119.bmp v120-v124.bmp
🜲 PoLiX Posted September 24 Report Posted September 24 23yrs ago this month a random idea turned into these forums... It may have been nostalgia that drove me to bring them back after all the requests, but I don't ever regret starting them and working with the other web admins that helped. It was a hectic first year that ended in the original forums being crashed and lost due to a pirated vBulletin script, then this databse launched in August of 2003. It has been memorialized in my signature for years... Crazy to look at my 13yr old daughter and think I helped start/work on so many website projects at her age. I was just 17yrs old when SubSpace.net, SubSpaceDownloads.com, and SSCentral.com came together to launch SSForum.net. Now I sit here tonight at 40yrs old feeling a bit nostalgic about it all. ironbuket Posted September 27 Report Posted September 27 I just posted, as a seperate thread, information and images from the first Subpace convention in 1997 - Enjoy
