Items with groundwork already laid

  • Holy brick
  • Block brick (not practical, but when has that ever stopped us from making an item?)
  • Flashbangs
  • Super & shields?
  • Antiwarp on lanc, if it's not already.

Items needing additional functionality

  • Score reset item
  • Omega 13
  • Turrets placeable by engineers (weasels?). Could have lots of fun stuff, like repel turret, antiwarp turret, or x-radar turret when integrated with outgoing packet rewriter. These turrets need to have a damage system (talk to smong?)
  • portal turret?
  • Anti brick warp method (either warp back, or brick holes). Possibly an item?
  • Decoy burst

 

ASSS core changes

  • Create a function akin to putmap to upload lvzs. (?putlvz?)
  • Incoming/Outgoing packet rewrite ability. Would allow: undetectable cloak (or cloak grades), energy scanning countermeasures, team-level x-radar.
  • Superarenas. Most awesome unimplemented idea in ASSS. True Stargate and B5 are only the tip of the iceberg.
  • Flag core & superarena integration research. Test what can be done to a contiuum client as far as lying about flag positions.

 

HSCore changes

  • Test arena?
  • Fix spawner for 0.40. May already have completed this and forgotten.
  • Team module needs rewriting to work with subarenas and to fix public/private size bugs.
  • Ship hull purchases may not be flexible for subarenas. Provide an option for non-buyable hulls to have items (reuse initial items setting?). Talk to d1 about his points module and possibly merge the modules.
  • Sort ?shipstatus's output (and -v too) for more consistent viewing.
  • ?shipinfo needs more data. This is annoying to code.
  • Variable prices on items. Needs to be done right the first time, or could send the zone into economic chaos.
  • Ship "account" to move hulls between squaddies. This may be a bad idea.
  • Item accounts too? At least local ones. Maybe move things onto the spec hull? That may actually solve a lot of other sharing problems to have a global hull.
  • Cannot sell flag for items/ships in the database for granted things.
  • Weight. Did I already add this?
  • Spawner additions needed for Cerium's item system.
  • Stipend module
  • Test spawner for support of built-in continuum spawning modes (for subarenas)

 

HS non-core modules

  • Interdiction module. Integrate with hs_warp for interdiction removal information? Could get destination info too for more refined tracking.
  • Sector map module. Integrate with region chunks holding lvz data.
  • Fine module for more consistent fining of evildoers.
  • Swear to **** and auto fine integration. Need to make sure that the first few fines are $0. Better make sure mods know to punish for cir!@#$%^&*vention.
  • Flag modules. FR, !@#$%^&*ult, ctf
  • Antideath respawn lvz to prevent surprise "cloak"
  • PD needs a better firing algorithm.
  • Lock flag team from new players during flag vic conditions.

 

Attach changes

  • Attach item for greater control over attach conditions. May need to warp players back if they don't have access... Or disable attaching via F7 entirely.
  • Summoner and Infiltrator need to be reworked to allow attaching to non-lancs. Integrate with "attach item" idea.
  • Attach conditions are virtually unchecked. Could be a lot of problems lurking there.
  • Research into how continuum interprets attach packets. Could be cool things lurking there.
  • Fix pointdefense attach system. It shouldn't interfere with attaching to other ships.
  • Anti-attach region code (for tw hub type situations)

 

Balancing

  • Flag game rewards kinda suck.

 

Zone grapics

  • Interdimensional needs to be reimaged for better framerate and compression.
  • Hypertunnels need a moving cloud background, with multiple layers for neat flythrough. Hopefully mostly black so the gate graphics look decent. Will be tricky to get it to wrap properly.
  • Jump graphics have a noticeable edge to them. Should be reimaged to remove that.
  • New Tileset
  • Antideath cross

 

Subarenas

  • Casino
  • Event subarenas
  • Redo foosball items and settings
  • Turf test

 

Staff

  • Redo mod access levels
  • Provide better support for mod aliasing

  • talk to steig about the domain
  • Chatnut (does polix still want a copy for ssforum?)

The above should be a complete list of tasks I'm working on for the zone.
