The thing both these posts point at is the way the media portrays it. The predictions do give data consistent with what they broadcast, only problem is it's is the upper limits of the models they use for stories. On the other hand the sceptics will take the lower limits. Lower limit = little/no effect Upper limit = imminent doom The reality is that the warming effect is somewhere in the middle of these extremes, problem is people ignore this and take whichever extreme supports their view. You then need to add to that both sides conveniently ignoring some of the facts to make their argument sound more placeable. In a nuts!@#$%^&* there is no conspiracy, there is no imminent doom. Warming does need to be dealt with but not by completely abandoning all technology tomorrow, or proving the government wrong to keep tax down. We just need to develop green technologies, stop being so !@#$%^&* wasteful and stop destroying things solely in the name of profit.
