  1. Wow, there's been a lot of unpleasantness in this forum for the last week. First off, I don't know what to believe. I believe that Jesus Christ existed as a man and what happened historically is correct, just as I believe Muhammed (sp?) existed (the six-armed deities of some religions I don't believe in, sorry I guess that makes me predjudiced). Getting to the point, what I believe God-wise: I believe that the universe is in that 3-5 billion year old thing. If there was no Supreme Being, then what was there in the beginning? The super-hot super-dense m!@#$%^&* that could have elicited the Big Bang? What was before that? If there is an SB, where did It come from? What was before what there is now? Anything? Nothing? How can nothingness exist, and how can something-ness then come from nothingness? My best comfort to these questions is that mankind does not understand how because we are as of yet unable to. Maybe in thousands, millions, billions of years, we could understand. Or maybe not. Another interesting thought I've had regarding the intelligence of man. Humans are mammals that live on land. Why are there not fish, reptiles, birds that exhibit an appreciable degree of intelligence? I mean, we didn't reach North & South America until at least several thousand years ago. And that was intelligent man. Why didn't they find other intelligent forms of life? Why would it be that an entire planet teeming with life for millions (billions?) of years has only evolved one species with appreciable intelligence that originated in only one part of the planet (on land, let alone ocean, subterranean, and air-capable). Intelligence has seemed to work out pretty well from a Darwinistic standpoint, why haven't more species gotten that far? I'm sure there will be people who post some pretty long responses to those questions that may make some sense, but for all that happened up until this point and our species to be an accident, and that that accident hasn't recurred (reocurred?) in a significant way (monkeys, dolphins, dogs don't seem all that intelligent) seems pretty far-fetched to me. So, I'm not going to try to say anybody or anything is right or wrong because I don't know, I won't know, and even saying it wouldn't make a bit of difference. All I'll say now is how about we all grow up a little and stop being !@#$%^&*holes to one another in a kind of 'my !@#$%^&* is bigger than yours' compe!@#$%^&*ion (to the ladies in the audience, boobs). If you've read this far and are pissed that my post doesn't really answer anything, sorry.
  2. *shoots you for bumping a nearly 2 year dead topic... and for misspelling prey in the other topic*
  3. My opinion, as a friend you should be honest about your problems with him but make sure she understands that you're saying it out of respect for her and that you care enough to say it. As far as the ___ of 1, bring 5 people with. Just pick up some hobos on the way there and seat them on the groom's side. For added fireworks, put a bottle of vodka and a ham in the middle of them. Best.Wedding.Ever.
  4. farming, ranching, hopefully some fishing, trap shooting, a couple weddings to go to and then start on my masters mid-august
  5. Whereas an unhappy customer comes back and shoots people. Think about it, CompUSA. Do you really want that on your conscious? I know you're reading this.
  6. Huh? Elmer's glue and Purina dog food: The only good use for horses.
  7. Second and third place went to Elmers and Purina
  8. Yes, God!@#$%^&* us americans for rebuilding the economies of Japan and Europe, providing low or no interest loans (or just giving them the money with no payback), sinking billions upon billions of dollars in investment and transforming them from second or third-rate powers in to major players in the global economy, providing defense from communist takeover during the cold war, and helping former soviet states in the transformation to capitalist economies. we are SUCH !@#$%^&*bags for that. edit: and attraction, that 'stability' you !@#$%^&*ociate with the cold war only came from the lucky fact that each side was smart enough (or not insane/stupid enough, take your pick) to start anything major because they knew it meant total annihilation. I'd take a less stable economy over being a stone's throw from a nuke in my backyard any day of the week.
  9. When i first read that I was like then i almost died of laughter. Then I felt a bit ashamed and then laughed again. Funny stuff.
  10. I have no legal base, but I have watched 'The People's Court' a few times (and I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night). Can't you also sue for damages and attorney fees in a civil matter? From what I saw on TV (haha I can't believe I said that) if the store's return policy is clearly printed on the receipt, then it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure his/her purchase is correct and intact (like by opening the box before leaving the store). I don't think he has much of a chance just by going on his word and credibility witnesses (people lie for stupid things). That being said, I don't doubt that what this guy says happened did happen. He should get a bunch of bad press going against CompUSA and teach those ASSS the meaning of good business relations! Lastly, I must admit that I am really ashamed that I used stuff that I might have seen on People's Court from like two years ago when the cable was out and all the bunny ears picked up was ABC. If I have come off as a completely re!@#$%^&*ed !@#$%^&*bag, I apologize and will accept forum-based kicks in the nutz.
  11. Get a convention center in Las Vegas. Why Vegas? Cuz tickets are dirt cheap and it's not like any of us are friggin millionaires or we'd be playing this game in real life.
  12. When your name is called, have them call 'a.k.a. rootbear75' and I'll run up, make shooting noises and yell 'HAHA! PWNT NEWB!!' then i'll drop a load of bursts to clear out the crowd, port out the building and hit the rockets. Later, when I'm arrested, I'll be shouting 'WTF!? I was stealth/cloaked and using reps! Hax! Laggers!!' and that's when they'll shoot me full of tranquilizers. Happy Graduation!
  13. I don't think the government should pay for campaign funds, but I do believe that there should be spending caps. So much money for your total campaign, so much of a cap on individual/corporate contributions, and there would need to be some serious apolitical oversight. Oversight could be funded by the government, but the candidates should also have to provide some of that funding from their own coffers (akin to how meat packing plants have to pay for federal grading out of pocket but federal safety inspections are funded by the gov't). Agreed, too many candidates is a bad idea, and good point on the extremism, since that's how the Nazis gained power in Germany, a three-way ticket where nobody got the majority, just a higher percentage went to them. There are already estimates that campaign costs for the presidential election will surp!@#$%^&* a billion dollars this time around, with at least another billion spent on campaigns for house & sentate seats. Insane.
  14. It also does help the US economy as American goods are comparatively cheaper than many overseas nations which increases exports. China's had that figured out for years so they keep their currency unnaturally undervalued. Boycott the Chinese!!!
  15. One of the late night talk shows awhile back made the funny, and true, points about Romney... an ivy-league, massachusetts, once pro-choice (recently now pro-life), past gun control proponent (now claims to be an avid hunter... of varmints on his property lol), "flip-flopper"... smacks of John Kerry eh? So, imo, Romney's got no shot. Guiliani is unfortunately doing good (although WAY too early to say anything) riding on the 9/11 gravy train. He was a mayor, good for him, but that's a long way from running a country. I hope that his campaign runs out of steam soon. As I've said multiple times over the last year or two, McCain is my horse because he's one of the few people in government today that is willing to sit down with the other aisle and compromise on important issues. If the past two administrations have shown us anything, it's that partisan divisions are only hurting the country and I see McCain as the candidate who has the best shot of being someone who would listen to both sides. Plus, he's the best shot we've got at campaign finance reform. And again to repeat what I've said before... if it turns out Guiliani vs. Clinton... God help us all. Edit: Also, am I the only one that is really disgusted that the campaigning started more than 18 months before the actual election? Think of all the money that could be saved if they mandated that they couldn't start until at least a year prior? It bears consideration.
  16. I dont see how its a provocation towards Russia, it's not as though a missile shield (no matter how well it works) would do any good if Russia and the US decided to 'get all up and ballistic on each others' !@#$%^&*es' ... Also, from what I read, the leadership of the Czech Rep. is in favor of the US building the station in that country (not to say the people of CR are happy, but they can express that at election time). So... Russia doesn't have a great basis for opposing a defensive system, especially in a country that was under the Soviet heel for so long. People say Bush is inflammatory, Putin's talking about targeting nuclear warheads on it's neighbors. That guy needs to get voted out.
  17. Britney Spears for President!! ... ugh, sorry i just threw up in my mouth a little
  18. If it winds up Guiliani vs. Clinton, I'm taking a mulligan on the presidential ticket... McCain all the way!
  19. Sheesh Somebody throw a pie already
  20. sever... well said... I nearly soiled myself
  21. *claps for all the normal-thinking people who've posted on this threat*
  22. There was an article today that Hamas sent a new list of Palestinians in Israeli lockup to be released in exchange for that one soldier who was taken back in June. Wow. Israel does all that on the basis of getting back one person, killing how many innocent civilians, and they don't even get their guy back. It's funny how it's been this long before the media reported that he was still captive. It's pathetic how futile their actions were and how they still claim it as a success.
  23. If Guiliani gets on the ticket i probably won't even fill in a circle on the president line. McCain's my horse, even if he doesn't get the nomination.
  24. Now I do.
  25. I have a question... did Israel ever find that missing soldier that they used as justification for the whole thing? I never heard one way or the other.
