  1. Seems an appropriate topic considering Astro's. For my money it's Teddy Roosevelt. War hero, Peace Prize winner, conservationist, trust-buster, an American icon.
  2. !@#$%^&*it sama, you know that once you begin to question the topic, the topic dies! Hmm rolling with it, rolls and butterknives... it's almost uncanny how these things relate to each other
  3. luckily it was a butter knife rather than a metal knife so it just smooshed and slipped out of his hand TiQ follows the adventurers' spirit: Why? Because it is there!
  4. !@#$%^&*ties
  5. (flails arms as running) oh! help! help! Oh no! Not a bucket of water! (Psssh!!!!! drenched shirt clings to my supple body) Ahhh!!!!!
  6. Are they a solitary creature or do they travel in packs? If I find myself in an elevator with one, what is the wisest course of action?
  7. rootbear you fool, don't you know that Tiq has an in-depth dossier on every poster on this forum, as well as any player he has seen chatting in subspace? And, as a typical male, he has an intense interest in where LOSA's !@#$%^&* is.
  8. You can take the NBA no questions asked, and I'll throw in Soccer absolutely free! However, one stipulation is that you still allow northern US teams to participate in Hockey. Only states that could actually play their games outside. None of this bull!@#$%^&* Florida hockey teams. And if you act in the next 10 minutes, we'll double your order to include the WNBA and Women's Soccer! As a special 5-minute bonus, we'll include our 'Ladies Volleyball' calendar! Just pay shipping and handling! Call now!
  9. After seeing sever's comments about running over emos with a bus and then that picture that Xter posted, I had a completely random thought: We need more villains these days who tie fair maidens to train tracks. Getting back to the topic of the off topic debate, I've never seen an emo to my knowledge, how can I spot one, and what do I do if one approaches me or tries to talk to me?
  10. Wouldnt that suck to have a name like Alan Qaeda? (sp?) or since it would sound more like a hispanic name, Alberto Qaeda. Man, you'd have one of the worst names possible. Think of the hassle in getting a plane ticket or getting a posting to the presidential protection detail in the secret service. Oh,
  11. Yeah, from my perspective unions cause more problems than they solve and union leaders have been historically corrupt or they misrepresent the others. Back when unions were new, they had a real goal to improve worker safety, decent pay, benefits, etc. Nowadays that's less of a problem because a worker can just sue a company for being negligent. Unions these days don't win themselves any points with regular people when they strike and cause major inconvenience and economic loss. Just look at the airline industry. Also, the pressure on employees to join a union can be really unfair and the fact that if they don't join they may not receive benefits is just plain !@#$%^&*holery (new word?). Too many politics and politicians in the union game.
  12. !@#$%^&*it Syrus, I wanted to make the obvious joke!
  13. Mad goat disease would be scrapie, a neurological disease caused by prions that is analagous to BSE in cattle. That said, Rabbitron Activate!!
  14. Go to a hardware store or something, get an insecticide mix and a 2 gallon pump sprayer and take care of it. Next, find the jogger's remains and inform his/her family.
  15. Pfft Minnesota is so weak, they consider mud puddles that stick around more than a day to be a lake. Asian Longhorns? That's a weird breed of cattle. Although if they can survive on bark, maybe we should import some to live in drought areas where forage is scarce.
  16. If ignorance be bliss, then he be smokem peace pipe. Translation: If eegnowrenz bee blizz, thehn he be smowkum peez pyp.
  17. If you didn't want a non-US team in there, then it should be called the USMLB. Seriously, who cares about this enough to make a forum topic?
  18. Amen brother, ND ftw!!!!
  19. Was it smoke or something like steam or fog? That could just be from the sewers I bet. Yes, bark is the right word, and it probably gets stolen by the hobos as toilet paper. As far as nitrogen tanks...if it's anhydrous ammonia they could be using it to make meth. Did they say Nitrogen on them or were they just pressure tanks, cuz then they could be propane.
  20. Tough call, but I don't think I really believe in pure evil. Evil acts, yes, but to label the perpetrators as being evil people is just our way of making ourselves feel better. If they're "evil" then they aren't real humans like us and so we don't have to worry about us doing something like that because we're better. Like several have said, it's a matter of perspective. Also, wouldn't something purely evil be purely negative? You look at all the 'evil' figures in history and they all have some positive attributes, even if they choose to use those in the wrong way. Intelligence is good, cunning is good, so can a person who is intelligent and cunning but does unspeakable acts be purely evil? My definition of pure evil would be a thing that would destroy all existence, itself included, without thought or reason. Nothing left ever again.
  21. Why would I want blood all over my car? Could always clean it after...plus there probably wouldnt be much blood, just more broken bones. Just drive around a few blocks, hobos with squeegies, cleaning the hobo remains... That is what we lions call the Circle of Life, Simba.
  22. Wow, you're right KF, that means the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shouldn't be in the NFL either!! Oh wait, they're in SOUTH Tampa Bay, Florida, whereas the D-Rays are in NORTH Tampa Bay, Ontario. I thought Geography was a required class ... everywhere?
  23. Okay, I'm Catholic, not a very good one as something that happened last year has left me and God on somewhat less friendly terms, however I still like Jesus (go figure). I don't care if someone doesn't think the same things as I do spiritually-wise. I think the Dali Llama (sp?) is a pretty cool guy who makes a lot of sense. I'm wary of people who go around with their religions on their sleeves or who try to convery people. Believe what you want and have enough respect to keep your beliefs to yourself unless someone asks you. That's my main belief, be decent and respectful. I live in what you would probably call the Bible Belt, but other than one visit from a Jehovas Witness my sophmore year college, I have NEVER had anyone try to convert/convince me to be something else. As far as corruption in organized religion, everyone focuses on that but how often do you hear about the good work they do? Yes, there are horrible things that take place but how is it different from any other kind of business, government, or charitable organization? Anyway, on the topic of religion, why is it that we can't just agree to disagree, as debates like this only piss people off?
